Depends on the material. If you're rocking a bamboo board you don't want to be doing any hard jumps or ones with a lot of force. If you're rolling with a maple board you can do some harder force tricks but I still wouldn't recommend it because it isn't what it's made for. Honestly, a longer than usual cruiser board is a great mix between wanting a long board and still wanting to do tricks!
had a roommate (2 lady skaters) I would night skate like this with on my campus when it was empty..Bringing back some fond memories, these two look like they are having a blast..but I had to use her board and now I'm FINALLY 4 years later getting my own.
This video has such an amazing vibe to it. Two friends just chilling out and riding together, no hate between them, and still showing off falls just because they enjoyed themselves. Wish I lived in a place better for cruising, and had a friend to cruise with.

Im a pretty new skater, but I always skate with experienced people so I have been taught a lot. When I'm on a long fast downhill I tell myself *I will not fall!* And I plant myself to the board really strong and bend my knees a bit to keep my ankles steady and strong. If you can keep your ankles stable and stay calm you are good. That being said I would not do the run they did yet I have a lot to learn lol
I recently got back into skating cause I recently started college and it’s and easy way to get around and I ride a normal board with cruiser wheels and I’m telling you these guys give off the same vibes night cruising around campus does and it’s amazing. Seriously if you’re considering skateboarding of any kind do it.
It’s not always about getting better. It’s about getting comfortable and doing the things you like to do. If you want to do a trick... but it doesn’t feel right or you don’t like it, try cruising. Also, not all boards make you good. I use a board by blind, it’s not the best but I love it to death.

I was 33 when when I got my first board. I remember hating it when I first started. I barely touched it the first year. Second year, I started skating 10 minutes to the gym and back. I remember being so excited the first time I did the whole trip without stopping. 5 years later and I'm skating long distance errands just for fun. If I had to credit one thing to accelerating my learning curve, it would be switching to a smaller board. If you can get good on a [dinghy], going back to a bigger board will feel way more controlled.
@@brawndo8726 preach! I bought my first cruiser a couple months ago. First week I skated every day, following months only like once every 3 weeks or so, wasn't enjoying it. But previous month I stayed at my grandparents house for a week, they have a big backyard, paved. So I took my board with me :) I skated like 2 hours every day, now I'm back home & I can cruise at high speeds taking sharp turns without falling or stopping.. it's awesome! This video made me buy a board btw, love it 🤩
If ur in the suburbs you can usually go to the "richer" neighbourhoods with like really wide, quiet and smooth as hell roads. Thats just what its like for my general area
honestly, i enjoy cruising more than doing tricks, something about just getting out there and going for a sweet ride on a nice day is so refreshing and fun, especially with friends. If you're on the border about getting a cruiser or not just do it, you won't regret it. Also don't give up if you can't ride it perfectly on the first try, it takes practice. After recently getting one I ride it EVERYWHERE it's so much fun.
Man I love this series. Skate and Explore is what made me realize there is a whole world of possibilities with skating beyond just skate parks and flip tricks. Got a dinghy for my first board a couple months ago to do some of my own skate and exploring in my city and it has been one of my best investments ever. Thanks Landyachtz

Used to ride a cheap $60 longboard around my school campus from class to class. Never really did many tricks but it was just nice to cruse around and listen to music between class commutes.
I can safely say watching THIS VIDEO RIGHT HERE 2 months ago is what got me into skating, the only thing I regret is I should've started way earlier Thanks landyachtz
i learn tricks but also love to cruise around! just going out with friends or by yourself, finding the smoothest parts of your town and wearing it down. sometimes i go barefoot, (depending on where you live- this is fun aha) and it makes me feel really wild and connected to the world
The easiest way to look at it is imagine a venn diagram with "cruisers" in the middle between "longboards" on the left and "trick/Popsicle skateboards" on the right. Longboards can be used for cruising or downhill, but they suck at doing what we normally think of as tricks (flips, grinds), if they are able to do them at all (some don't have a tail/nose at all making olies effectively impossible, bigger ones are also heavy). Skateboards should really only be used for one thing: doing tricks. Their hard, small wheels make them bad at cruising if the pavement is rough, but they'll get you to a park or whatever. Cruisers generally have the body style of a skateboard with the wheels/trucks of a longboard potentially. not as good for tricks as a skateboard but its possible, and it's just as good for cruising as a longboard unless you're going downhill maybe.
This made me feel better about getting just a board to cruise around on, I mean I do have a lot of boards to do tricks on at a skate park and stuff but sometimes I just wanna own Hana pintail or just a normal cruiser to cruise around sometimes
It is worth it. I have a longboard, cruiser and skateboard and each is awesome for its own thing. It does not hurt to own different boards for different moods. I love cruising the most especially now that I am learning how to bomb hills after finally slowly losing my fear.
New skater, just wanted to know if the screws on top of the deck on you guys' drop cats came really loose. Mine did and it felt so smooth carving, but a screw just fell out. I tightened them all the way and it feels a lot more sturdy, but it's not as fun to ride. Is it alright if the screws are loose and rattling a bit, or should I keep them fairly tight. Sorry if my questions stupid lol
who else loves the drop cat and the drop carve i think it would be amazing to combine them both, like the kick tail and the wheel base of the drop carve and the rocker width length and wheels of the drop cat who else would love to see this.

i skate with normal hard wheels and from my experience, once you get over w certain speed your wheels kick the stop rocks out of the way
