I just finished it today. The ending made me cry because it truly felt like John Rhys Davies was saying goodbye as Gimli. This might be the last chance we ever see him play Gimli and it was such a fun experience. I loved it and i cannot say enough good things about it. This was definitely made by fans.
If I had to guess the timeline here, this takes place soon after year 63 of 4th age, if I’m right in thinking Gimli is implying Merry and Pippin are in Minis Tirith at this point. I assume he’s meeting Aragorn to rebuild the gates of the White City with the Mithril you find in Moria, which is pretty much A lowkey reason why you’re there in the first place 😅 since Moria is the only place to get it from.
Hope this game turns into a big success and who knows, maybe we could get a full map of middle-earth with the same survival/RPG elements one day....one day, a man can hope.
The bigger the game the more you will see micrtransactions creep in to ruin the experience so no I don't want a bigger game. I'd much rather get AA games where there is respect for the lore and just a well designed experience by those who have a passion for what they do.
It was absolutely the right choice. When reading the books, it's his voice i hear for Gimli, even though i don't do the same for orlando bloom and legolas, and Viggo Mortenson for Aragorn. His performance is absolutely masterful.
Came to watch this because the game is so fucking buggy its unreal. Had two of my saves softlocked because of how bad the procedural generation is for the map. There was no way to continue towards the next objective.
I love how this respects the lore! You can see Galadriel's hairs, the 4th age map is a thing of beauty, and Gimli is perfect.
Yeah really respectfull, with black dwarves.

My favorite thing about this game, is you can tell it was made by fans.
Agreed. I love that it feels like a passion project, not a souless cash grab.

I would absolutely love more Tolkien games with the survival or RPG aspects being more important. The action set piece games get old rather quickly.
Agreed exactly

I knew we were going to end up being the Lord of Moria.
I had a gut feeling as well. I like how they built the narrative though.
oh that's cool: they got John Rhys-Davies

I wish this game had more cinematics. The ones that exist are very interesting.
Me too. I guess you could count the transitional dialogue and the raven scenes.
The cinematics had to be redone from scratch late in development, so there was only time for the 4.
Well done. I'm glad you introduced me to this game. It's one of my favorites.
Glad you enjoy it!
Lol. This truly was a Return to Moria.
Maybe the real Return to Moria, was the friends we made along the way.
They did female dwarves perfect!
YEET
