I have exactly the same bike, found with similar conditions as this one. Kept the old Shimano 200gs for another project, and installed STX-RC 3x8 groupset with little variations on chainwheel (Acera), front derr Tourney TX and with flat bars :) Cheers
indeed i did miss it , apologies . i tend to fast forward to the end of restoration videos for the final result . 😂 i'm an american immigrant living in Germany near freiburg in the mountains . Fascism is a horrible thing as is immigrants that are not integrating well with German customs and society . So the current situation is a bit of a balancing act in that the country does NOT want to revert to its former years but also must maintain its customs and norms that make Germany, Germany . i've lived her for the last ten years and still consider myself a guest . i have permanent residency but that doesn't give me the right to disobey laws and or bring old bad behaviors with me from America .
I have the exact frame also, even same size. Has a stuck BB in it but i upgraded from all the GS200 to 1995 XT components.
Sweet, that's a nice upgrade!
@@bottoncino_bicycles i have a lot of XT and LX parts from the 90's. lol

What is the yellow attachment you used on your drill to polish the frame?
I don't know the make or model name, as I've had it for a while and it has no branding on it... 🙄
what polishing compound do you use?
NIGRIN Reinigungs-Politur
The anti-fascist stance is absolutely welcome. Keep it up. The bicycle looks great, too.
Thank you! 💚🙌
