    I can't believe I'm watching Chinese tour videos from a US guy, even though I'm Chinese myself.🤣 But these days, I'm kind of addicted to these. I've never been to Sichuan before, but your video makes me eager to visit. It seems like such a laid-back city, with people truly savoring life, which is a refreshing change from some of the more expensive cities.
    Around the 11:45 mark, the man in the video was inquiring about your comfort level, and 'Shu Fu' means 'comfortable' in Chinese.
    I've watched all your Chinese videos, and you certainly have an extensive knowledge of the culture and daily life. Learning some daily expressions might enhance your experience 😄. In any case, thanks for sharing so many fantastic videos👏

    If it is in the North part of China, more likely is haze(waste dust mixed with fog). When in ChengDu, it's much likely to be fog , with no pollution. You can tell it by smell, or even by sight difference of the near and the far, up and down.

  • @AbstractRider
    @AbstractRider 8 місяців тому +5

    sichuan and other southwestern provinces looks hazy for most times, but is not just pollution, its more because of the climate, humidity level is always crazy there. Northern part of china looks a lot more clear more often

    It’s not pollution it’s just fog it’s the typical weather in Sichuan😂There is a famous song singing’在那座阴雨的小城里,我从未忘记你’it referred to Chengdu

    Hi, I'm a Chinese and I've recently become obsessed with watching your videos, and I've realized that you have a much deeper understanding of China than the average foreign traveler. Honestly, Chinese web apps are not foreigner friendly, Chinese takeaway apps, group-buying apps, map apps, ticket booking apps and so on are very detailed, powerful and convenient, but the vast majority of them don't have a foreign language version, so I'm in awe of you for being able to travel so fluently.
    By the way, I don't know if you intentionally represent more street food in your videos. What I mean is that everyday street food is only a small part of Chinese cuisine, take the example of Sichuan cuisine in this video, in China, if a dish is categorized as a cuisine, the dish is usually more complex, for example, the six most famous dishes in Sichuan cuisine are: Yu-Shiang Shredded Pork, kung pao chicken, beef and beef offal, mapo tofu, Twice Cooked Pork, Dongpo Pig Knuckle, and Steamed Chinese Cabbage in Supreme Soup. These dishes generally require a combination of cooking methods, take days to prepare and even expensive ingredients. (Shandong cuisine has a lot more this type of food because it used to serve the emperor family)I think these dishes are what show the standard of Chinese food. But these dishes are usually eaten at family dinners or banquets. The food you show in the video is really what people eat everyday.

      Thank you! 🙏 yes, I try to show more everyday, working class food on my channel 🍜 I tried many more dishes in Chengdu, (including the incredible mapo tofu!) but I can’t film everything 😉

    I didn't know Americans like spicy food...great video as always, thanks for sharing the great food in China. I tried a noodle stall run by a Chengdu couple here in Singapore, the Dan Dan noodle is so nice that I want to go back again and again.🍜

      Americans (north and south but I assume you mean United States) are all a mix of peoples from around the world and indigenous. So obviously tastes vary. Some like spicy, some don’t.

      The Chinese haven't had spicy food longer than anyone outside the Americas. It's bizarre they think others don't eat it

    Everything on the tea house menu were Chinese traditional tea. Usually for Chinese tea brewing like that, don’t need to leave the tea in hot water for too long before drinking, they just refill with hot water after finishing the first one, and it can be brewed many times

    One of the reason why sichuan people like spicy food so much is that there is rare sunny day so they need chilli to make them sweating. There is also one saying that dogs in sichuan will bark when they see the sun because they never see it before lol

    Hows the cashless payments? WeChat and Alipay for foreigners. I heard you can link us cc to both platforms. My question is do they still accept cash or regular credit card? Also, did you take high speed rail there? Was it hard to buy tickets as a foreigner? Heard there’s separate lines when you buy the tickets

    • @travelfareatlocal
      @travelfareatlocal  5 місяців тому +1

      You can use any form of viable currency, but cashless is the most prominent. I booked high speed rail tickets in trip.com, by far the best source for foreigners booking train tickets in China
