  • Welcome to another episode of the VW Golf2 Rallye X RS3 engine build.
    We went on to fitting as many parts of the RS3 that we can to make the best Restomod we can and use as much OEM parts as possible.
    This will give us a challenge and the other challenge will be the car is going to the UK and a lot of parts are off an Audi RS3 from the uk...
    So you can imagine what this will bring..

    Why don't you leave the 9" BKV from the Golf 2 or 3 in the vehicle?
    These have a spacer so that the original steering also goes through.
    Make an adapter for the master brake cylinder (fluid container and install a container behind the bulkhead. Then there is enough space for the pipe from the turbocharger.
    Now you could have taken the original RS3 amplifier and only had to build a spacer between the bulkhead and the part then the rod with ball wouldn't have been too long.
    Oh dear, that was a lot of work for almost nothing. This is the tuning game.

      I too fail to see the point of swapping the brake booster and the entire pedal box. I get the point of swapping the gas pedal and fitting a bigger MC due to the big brakes but the rest is beyond me.

      The whole idea on this build is to upgrade to RS3 i dont like to put in one modern pedal and the rest all old mk2 thats not a swap. And at the start there was no brake booster with the Rallye so why not swap the audi that came with the engine.
      And easier with the electronics later for the abs and stuff.
      But not knowing this, there’s no manual for these type of builds and nobody will tell you in front 😅
      We will get there and win some time back lateron.

      @@remifassol4198 Yes, I wouldn't have done it!
      The large 9.9" BKV from the T4 fits in there very well and a 24mm brake cylinder also fits in there well and the size of the container should fit in there well, I looked at it again on a sample yesterday.
      Of course the Rally didn't have a BKV because it had a hydro engine for the ABS, but that's Mark2 and very vulnerable. I mean, of course, ABS is good and it can't be denied that it can save lives, especially with an engine like that You could easily use the Mark 20 from the Golf4.
      But well, he'll manage it and you learn well from mistakes and many people haven't done a conversion like this yet, so try and make mistakes.

    would have been so much easier to make a remote reservoir for the original set up

      The rallye didnt came with any original stuff so thats why i started straight white the RS3 parts wich came with the engine, maybe in hindsight but yes who knows.
