Triumph Speed T4 Review | Compromise or Masterstroke? | Sagar Sheldekar Official

- Triumph India have launched their most affordable motorcycle in India in the form of the 2025 Speed T4. Based on the 2025 Speed 400, the T4 gets simpler suspension, brakes and tyres and the engine has been detuned to 31PS to make it less intimidating and more friendly to ride around in the city and the highway. But is that really the case or is this too much of a compromise? Sarge hops on to find out.

I was kind of sad that Triumph downgraded Speed 400, but after your review, I get the point that this is more suitable for riders like me, who love to cruise sedately, need the power only occasionally. But better brakes and tires are always welcome.
Absolutely.
I am fan of Speed bikes… and now I’m super happy that it is in my budget definitely owning this bike
Yesss bro agree💯💯 for me this bike is best
I totally get your point! but current brakes and tires are solid for daily use, and the bike still gives that occasional power boost when you want it.
Traction control doesn't work properly on s400 fyi
Bro wheelies everything that can wheelie😂
When it comes to 2 wheels fun is a must

I am super excited to hear your opinion on this. and one question Sagar sir, you must have felts the uneasy vibes in speed 400 after 110kmph, do they carry on with this de-turned or they managed it to give 400T a brand new character
See you at 5pm

All of these hate comments on the bike without obviously riding it first.
It did surprise me
@@Ahmed-jv7oc if one has ridden, no one would watch review and opinion of experts 😀
@@nighthawk4028 not the point I made.
True
I was about book Honda CB 350RS. But.. after the test ride, I confirmed to go with Triumph Speed T4. Because the riding pleasure is totally different from CB. It's not about the refinement, it will keep you ride more and more if you are not an aggressive rider.
to all the people crying this bike is like a bridge to funnel all the other people to go like hey that triumph is in my budget let me get it while the speed 400 is proper bike for enthusiasts
It’s a practical option that doesn’t compromise on the Triumph experience, making it accessible while maintaining that signature quality.
T4 is perfect for those who want premium quality at an affordable price

different sort of engine character is a welcome step , however removing TC , ride by wire , USD forks, Redial 150 tyre , adjustable liver , Bar end mirrors for 20000 /- is not so ! , they could have rather improve the instrument cluster a little bit
This is definitely not as good a value for money proposition as the speed for sure

This should be 2 lakh ex showroom, it would be selling like hot cakes .
Just take ride...
I totally agree 💯 on this, it should be 2L ex showroom, and a clear demarcation from S400 in terms of pricing.
It's now😂
@@CHANDLERMBingfromindia hey I just noticed it now...this makes a lot of sense now. Thanks for the news.

Big engine less power = more refined. This can be smoother than speed 400. The only concern tyres. A gap of 40k would be best, it will cover ownership cost too.

I feel like Im risking my life everytime I go to 9k rpm even on my lil r15m 👉🏾👈🏾
This one also looks more mod friendly than the speed, the speed is nearly perfect.

When I saw the Spec sheet, I just had a speculation about the way it was setup T4 is going to be a better alternative for Hunter and your review confirmed it. With the agility and comfort this offers paired with the nice torquey engine will be a much better city bike and a good tourer. Triumph actually is looking at the gaps in the market to position themselves well with their pricing and the superior quality it offers. Great review as always Sarge. Looking forward to ride it myself and see how different it feels to the 400.
Waiting for 5 pm Sarge, eager to hear your opinion on this one.
See you then

This kind of thoughts (different models with various configurations) are they only limited to Indian market, or will this be in latam, asian & other markets too. Worried as the continuity of production depends on markets targeted by HAMARA BAJAJ. YOU REVIEW GAVE A VERY CLEAR AND PRECISE PERSPECTIVE TO THE BIKE AND WHAT IT IS MADE FOR. WAS VERY HAPPY TO HEAR IT CAN BE A GOOD TOURER. THANK YOU SARGE. WILL KEEP THIS IN MY MIND.

Question: will the Duke 390 with its low slung exhaust cause any issues when riding through water clogged areas? What about riding it through bad patches of roads?
Just avoid really water clogged roads as much as you can

I'm skeptical between Dominor 400, Triump scrambler 400X and T4. Can you please share your opinion. 70% city and 30% highway touring. Looking for reliable engines, service center availability, not too cost to maintain, parts availability. Between I'm 6.1ft. Appreciate your opinion on this.
Beautiful review , want to hear sarge talk about the competition namely hunter , cb350 rs
I'll choose this over them because this is more comfortable
Nice review.... as always, love your storylines ... but this feels more like 'Triumph ka Bullet' and death of the 'Dominar' 😊

Hey Sagar Dada, can you share what helmet you're using in the vid ?

Unlike others i didn't judge this bike by calling it a Bajaj cut-price job.
My concerns are practical, for eg at 2.17 lakhs ex showroom price they could have offered MRF Revz Radial tyres at front and rear atleast and given the bike fork gators on telescopic forks to make it look more retro like Hunter 350 & also saves the forks from dust, mud or small minute rocks.
I have used the MRF zapper nylogrip front tyre 100/80 17 inch on my suzuki gixxer 155 and it doesn't have good grip . I fell off twice while riding and they used to lose grip in hard braking , felt jittery while cornering. I switched to CEAT zoom szf plus bias ply tyre same size which provided phenomenal grip even in wet conditions . The tyres are the biggest turnoff for me . Because this is a great alternative to the problematic yezdi jawa bikes, Maverick 440, Classic 350 , Honda 350 trio of retro bikes and Dominar 400 which fall in the same price bracket of 2 to 2.30 lakhs ex showroom.
Fair enough. Should have come with better tyres
MRF tyre have hard compund rubber....compared to CEAT tyres ,they are little soft, that's why for front I alway prefer CEAT tyre....and for rear...MRF..or..anyother..bcaz rear tyre has very less to do with braking @@SagarSheldekarOfficial
Sir Can you tell me one thing, is that front suspension guard removable (like that extra part that pointing upward at the middle of suspension), can I remove those and install fork guard

When they lend me one
Its crazy how negative the community is just by looking at what? a specsheet? The way people judge a bike without even riding it baffles me, companies have been successful in selling away "features" and that's all what people look at nowadays
This one does surprise you but yeah it doesn't offer the same value as the speed and we Indians are big on that
@@SagarSheldekarOfficial As you mentioned the purpose of this bike is not performance or cornering, if someone just wants to ride relaxed from A to B with still a decent amount of power in hand then this is a great bike, obviously the cost cutting is evident. Great review though! I love the fact you understand and tell us viewers what purpose the bike serves
Could you please recommend any decent bikes for a guy who is 165 cm tall? What is the maximum seat height that should be considered while looking at toe-to-toe traffic?
What options are you looking at
Go and test ride Ronin and the meteor,
Seam length matters more than overall height
Measure that with a tape and you will have a rough idea by looking at the seat height spec
Upto 800 mm you should be comfortable

Haha don't hold your breath as it is very hard to procure media bikes from Honda
Hello Sir, would the mileage be more than the other model? other barely goes 25.
They claim this gives 30kmpl in mixed riding conditions
Now it looks like this can lock horns with the Mavrick 440. Pricing and character wise.
Wouldn't know as i haven't ridden it
I think its a good beginners bike. Less gimmicky items means less fuss. My nephew turns 19 soon and I will keep this as an option instead of the Hunter 350.
I'll pick this over the hunter for sure

Did you see any speedo errors on this bike ? Considering the Speed 400 has quite abit of the error about 10% (i have a speed 400 so I checked it using multiple gps speedometers on a straight line)
Didn't bother to cross-check as speed wasn't the premise here
30k less than the speed 400. A lot Lesser bike for a marginally lesser price. Always a pleasure to listen to you talking about motorcycles. Living it up!
Bajaj believes there are plenty who want a calmer speed
Can we use it like a xpulse for of road
Nope
Onroad price?
Bajaj missed a great strategy - they could have given halogen lights, box swing arms of dominor and further reduced the price by 10rupees.😂
I get where you are coming from but ride it and then decide
T4:misses on usd fork, adjustable levers, traction control, Apollo radial tyres, engine immobilizer, alluminium handle replaced with regular bars,... All for saving rs 23000. I personally feel a price around 2 would have justify.
@@nighthawk4028 you have a cost list of these items? I think the price is to offer more premium value than Hunter and Classic 350. You can't list 5-6 features and then quote some random price. Classic 350 doesn't have most of the things you mentioned - yet some models have Ex showroom of 2.3L. In comparison to that - this anyday!
@@nighthawk4028It's a choice, many go for bikes which they don't need. Spec sheet specialists will never like this. RE doesn't give a lot of features you have mentioned at the same or even higher price. Classic 350 on road price goes up to 2.7 L without any of these features and yet I don't see any one complaining.
@@sahilroy893 I'm not comparing it with classic, t4 is way ahead in terms of fit finish, engine. My point is not much difference between t4 and speed 400. The difference is 23k. If they had priced around 2 lakhs or launched a bonnie with same specs, they would have eaten major chunk of re market.
Can I install Windshield for highway purposes??????
Not sure if it is offered as an accessory
Now im even more confised, but my heart still lean towards speed 400. Im planning to buy one by next march. What would you recommend sir ?

Which jacket ?
What is cost difference in types?
Think 23000 cost saving you lise s lot. Tyres and brakes aren't things I would have wanted to compromise on.
Not the best value compared to the speed
@@SagarSheldekarOfficial I meant to type tyres. To put better tyres and maybe brake pads how much of the 23000 would you lose. 🤔. The nature of the engine sounds good for everyday use.
What about the engine heat ?
Need to ride it in hotter conditions to know but should be ok
What will be happen to speed 400 if power 34 /35 bhp and torque around 36 nm..
Would make for a better cruiser

The vitpilen will be more fun as it's the sportier of the two
120kmph @ almost 5800 rpm..
That's insane..
People who think this is underpowered, here's your answer..
My personal opinion- if u r thinking to buy a certain ROYAL kinda bike which is a 350cc, this is your sign to upgrade & get a much much premium brand & a much well engineered bike with top notch quality levels

Well, an experienced rider can commute daily with the speed 400 as good as t4. Also, if a person wants to buy a premium bike in the range of 2-2.5 lakhs, expecting premium quality is natural. Speed 400 is amongst the best bikes in that range. I think t4 might give competition to royal Enfield 350 series bikes, where speed 400 rivals the 450 range of bikes.
I'll personally choose the speed myself
