    The Lift and Lift X are the first Mathews that I have had serious consideration in. I am a Bowtech guy and Mathews isn't even the #2 brand for me, but the Lift platform is very impressive. As much as I would like to try the X, I believe this is a platform they will continue to build upon for a few more years, so they will only get better. The optimist in me is waiting for a Lift 35 with at least a timing adjustment feature added in. If that ends up happening, it would be a near guarantee that I would buy my first Mathews.

    When I bought my switch back, less than 30 days later they came out with the Switchback XT, so I wasn't going to make that mistake this year by purchasing the LIFT in September, been waiting for this release, WOW, back ordered into March well goodness, patience is part of bow hunting I guess it applies to purchasing a new bow as well hahaha. Thanks for what you do brother.

    Serious fanboy in the house!! Seriously though, 1/4” draw length adjustments are not available on mods that are very inaccurate resulting in a collection of $80 mods on your bench. Secondly, holding weight should be adjustable on the mod rather than mod specific, also resulting in a bigger collection of $80 mods. All bows feel different and Mathews mod system makes finding that sweet spot very difficult and expensive. Hoyt’s 1” draw length range on a mod with 1/4” adjustments is better. I assume Mathews didn’t do something similar because their current mods fit on all bows.

      Not to mention that they removed the 34.75" Atlas that was designed to long draws up to 34" and replaced it with the Lift 33 XD, which with 2" less axle to axle will have terrible string angles to anyone above 30" DL...

    Great review. I was thinking this may be the year I upgraded, but the more I thought about it, the more I'll probably wait. I actually wish Matthews developed a timing adjuster and waited on the cam timing instead of the opposite. If my bow has bad timing, it shoots like garbage and I have only one option - go to the shop/buy a press and then it still isn't perfectly timed as it seems I always need a 1/4 twist. For cam adjustment, I always have the option to move the rest/loop. Sure, you lose efficiency and it isn't the best option, but it is an option that will result in bullet holes and good flying broadheads. It seems like the industry norm will be adjustment of the cam and timing off press for at least flagship bows in the very near future and if you don't buy bows often it's likely worth the wait if I want a Matthews or buy the Darton.

    Lovely looking bow. If I could only choose one feature I think I still prefer Hoyts 1/4” adjustable draw and let off module over this limb tuning system. I own a press, so switching a spacer isn’t a big deal and it won’t move like a screw or bolt can over time.

    I’m assuming the limb adjustment only moves the cam side of the limb I wonder what that added stress will do to the limb’s longevity since it’s adding a bit of a twist to the limb. For that reason at this point I still feel like the bowtech system will be better but time will tell if it has any negative effects on the limbs but it’s still too early. @@nickdumas7873 If you believe in having everything “in line” Mathews definitely owns that game. There may not be a big difference between a bridgelock mount and a pic mount but the bridgelock stabilizers is a huge win for Mathews when it comes to integration vs Hoyt. I personally don’t think it makes a difference (and you’re paying a premium for that technology) but if you’re too lazy to unscrew your stabs vs sliding them back when putting them in your bow case, then that’s an advantage. I really wish Hoyt came out with some tunability options this year. I was 100% going to buy a Hoyt this year if they came out with that tech, but it looks like I’m waiting until 2026.

Not intended for the choir, there is a lot more to tuning than moving a cam. Also, I am a fan of what you do on the top you should do to the bottom. Correct me if I am wrong, but I can only think of 2 companies that have an upper and lower adjustment.

    I would love to see a comparison of flagship bows from a decade ago... compared to 2024/5 bows.
    Im from Aus, (getting left hand flagship is near impossible to try before you buy. But i purchased a 2012 Bear Anarchy 35 ata that cost me $1200 kitted out back then.
    Owned a couple of other brands and now my pick of the newer is the old V3x 33.
    Which cost me 4k kitted out...
    Ive tried emailing Bear to find me some new limbs shipped here for a decent price as its the best bow ive had that just seemed to work for me. Id be shooting it still but Bear never got back to me.
    If anyone can help me getting it sorted id much appreciate it.
    What im also trying to say is ignore every bit of maketing, try everything before you commit.
    The Anarchy is all over the V3X for me in alot of ways, it just worked

    • @WendellAbigania
      @WendellAbigania 2 місяці тому

      I believe paper tune first from initial setup (new rest, loop). If tears are big, swap top hats first to get a bullet hole. If you have a bullet hole with a very small tear, then micro adjust using the new tuning feature on the limbs.
      Then you broadhead tune. Move your rest to get your Broadhead to follow your field point. These adjustments should be very small/micro adjustments. Good luck! 🤙🏽

    • @hopkinsfamily1891
      @hopkinsfamily1891 2 місяці тому

      My understanding is there are no tophats. The cam is fixed to one limb and adjustable distance to the other. This system seems to have an advantage of some of the others as it can travel farther not requiring tophats or shims at all. No reason to press it for cam adjustments. Unfortunately you still need to press it for timing, so I'm not sure it's that great of an advantage.
