I used the Grim Ripper in conjunction with a hammer to demolish a tree stump and a 3x4x8 foot refrigerated pizza make line. Bottleneck between the handle and blade did not budge. The finish is tore up and one of the handle scales is a little off but otherwise it's fine. Oh yeah and that SOG definitely is FULL tang. Great video.
The MSPF of 11 MEU SEAL platoon, '95, most of the knives they use, were knives you didn't mind losing. I kid you not, that's where I learn the phrase "this one is to look cool", still use it to this day. You don't want to lose your $600, '95 dollars value custom knife climbing a GOPLAT or doing a HYDRO, but for a BBQ with the team. I was with the Marines Recon, not a dual cool, I was attached to them. So we interop a lot. My 2 cents.
100% agree! Tops knives was go-to brand: durable, affordable, and I know that I can depend on when needed. I did brought expensive knives during deployment but those stayed in my deployment box. Lol!
@TacticalEdgeOperator1776 I learn from them, the issue MK2, black sheath & handle, got it professionally sharppen, and use the Eagle industries knife sheath, was a bad ass set up. I loved it, and it was SMaj proof.
my military brotha , i am a new sub for ya here n i am a u.s. military/marine vet 93' to 97' active ! n i only have email here though n i def. wanna talk more , i LOVE talking blades n such , please send all military n jarheads my way , we must unite , thanks n we'll talk soon > tom !
The terminology around full tang, slab tang, stick tang, and through tang is something I doubt will ever reach a consensus within the knife community. I know that this solid steel has served me well though.
@TacticalEdgeOperator1776 sorry, but that terminology has been well established for over 100 years. The only debate is among people who don't know what they're talking about. That, unfortunately, includes a lot of people in the industry - especially marketing types.
Gonna be honest, anybody calling a classic Seki-made SOG a piece of crap is losing a little credibility. Yes, the grip covers the tang. No, that doesn't make it a lesser knife. Modern SOGs may not be on par with what the company once was, but those Seki knives are absolute beasts.

Nice SOG - I had a Seki-made Tech II for years, wish I still had it but it was stolen.
They do last for a long time.
Nice selection of knives. That vintage SOG is awesome!
It sure is!

That Harsey reminds me of an old Camillus Cuda fixed blade I had in 2001 while at Bragg. I still regret to this day selling that knife.
That Cuda looks good and got some good reviews too!
Cool video. Audio was super low for me
Thanks for letting me know. I'll make that adjustment in the following video!
You should check out Tops Apache Dawn with Rocky Mountain grip!
Thanks for the recommendation!

What would be your current pick for a seven blade since the Sog Seal Team has been discontinued.?
I would most likely choose the TKell Nightstalker CQC

That sog is not full tang. No offense but it is a piece of crap
