Ok been looking at a lot of videos but know one seems to say the size of boards that start off right away. Seems to be a secret for some reason. Do you use 4/4, 6/4 planks. I figured out the width cut will be how thick the board will be. Please teach me something

Just guessing, but it looks like 1x6 or 1x8 maple boards and 2" thick walnut of the same width. Maybe a 1.5" thick board when done?
