    Great video and thank you for explaining dimensions which many others do not.

    Great video but the music is unnecessary and distracting. Your voice is great enough!

    Very interesting approach to this pattern. I have only seen the three-diamonds-form-a-hexagon method used until now.

      Yes, the three diamonds is another method that can be very challenging to glue up the "sticks". This is a lot easier but the maple diamond ends up with a seam using this method.

    very nice work. can the 5mm and 10 mm thickness be different. as long as the center dark pieces are twice the thickness of the light maple outer boards?

    Cute and very very nice! how would you change the dimensions to make it a bigger board?

      So many skip over the design part for some reason.

    I just tried this and it is much harder without a drum sander and quality cabinet saw. My job site saw made this much harder than it needed to be.

    Somehow I don't understand, I make the parts to the same thickness on the broaching machine, I make the final smooth surface on the drum sander, so that after gluing the pattern I don't accidentally chip an edge. But that's how it works, just too much work with the same effect.

    At the 2:19 mark what was the thickness of the strips? Did I miss a comment? I assume this will have an impact on the final pattern.

      I actually gave the dimension for that one after I finished cutting them all. they should be 10mm thick.

    • @mj94022
      @mj94022 2 роки тому

      @@CalebsFineWoodworking was the saw set at 10mm OR did the parallelogram height need to be 10mm? In the later case, the saw would need to be set at 11.18mm.

      I wondered the same thing, he gives the 10mm dimension after he's made the cut but didn't say what the fence would need to be set at in order to achieve the finished 10mm

    You said you cut them at a 60° bevel?
