You guys make do some amazing work on these videos. With thanks and love from Western Kentucky USA. The majority of my ancestors were from the UK.....the first American one traveled from Devonshire to Jamestown in 1619.
@@Aspasia2929 the cousins war to give it the name it had at the time….needs no supernatural addition to make it more interesting……a fascinating and violent family fall out on a grand scale
Absolutely loving your site and content videos. I am a hopeless insomniac. I have a hard time getting to sleep and staying asleep cuz I can’t turn my brain off. Anyway, thank you. Since discovering this site I’ve actually been able to sleep pretty well. Thank you.
I'm stoked for the next installment! Covers the period of English history that's my favorite, the wars of the roses and the start of the Tudor dynasty.
My patriarchal family name Martin seems to have come into England after the Battle of Hastings....and come out of Normandy. As well as many other of my ancestors with English surnames....makes me wonder where they were while all of this history was being lived out.
@@deborahjesser2028 one of my 12th great grandfathers came to Jamestown in 1619 aboard the Good Ship George...sailed out of Dorcet (I believe?). He was a Dr assigned to a ship of soldiers. He was John Woodson and he was growing tobacco by 1642 when he was killed by Natives. It's amazing what they went through so that we could have the country that we do. My life has been made so easy as compared to just my grandfather's....let alone four hundred years of farmers and soldiers. Our ancestors were probably in the middle of that battle together....they may have been friends or neighbors. Absolutely fascinating to think about.
Wait what? Henry the 5th took an arrow to the face that went 6 inches into his skull? He kept fighting, then the removed it and poured wine in? Wine? In his face?
No isopropyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide nor penicillin for that matter. The doctor who removed it made up a brand new tool to remove it. Tough sons a bitches, they were.
Richard II modeled his ruling style after Edward II… he must have missed the part about E2 being overthrown and sent off to die a horrible death at some castle… what a bummer for R2!
*Joan of Kent was actually the granddaughter of Edward I not his great granddaughter. Her Dad, Edmund, Earl of Kent was the younger brother of Edward II. Thus her uncle, Edward II was her husband, the Black Prince's Grandpa. Joan & her father in law were 1st cousins.
I’m just glad these movies sustain those duBeers bros. I told them no one wants rocks when we have have Bakelite but they went to Africa and came back wealthy from something. Even bought Vivaldi.

The history of England is more interesting than any fiction imaginable 🏴
Awesome then that the minority is completely made up. Hahaha. Forreal tho. Seriously. What’s an Irish?
Right?!? All George Martin did was add a supernatural aspect into the Wars of the Roses and BOOM he wrote Game of Thrones!

I have a Jamestown ancestor as well. His name was William Collins and he came in 1635 aboard the Plain Joan.

People were built different back then. There were ZERO safe spaces in that world. LoL.

A true badass Edward the III would be proud of. So would William the Marshall.
I love how he says “Parleyament!”
Thank you for doing this from a rando in Texas.❤

Thank you these are phenomenal!!!
“My Kingdom for a lamprey!” - William “not a king” spear shaker
Who is speaking? He has a very calming voice.
Regarding Henry IV, can someone explain his unusual headgear?
Imagine if the Black Prince had been able to become king. He would have been a great one.

Is this a robot reading
Killing Henry VI, served no purpose. Just plain nasty.

Many people don’t realise wales is mostly white. They say say “call me Ahab” but I always thought he was like a mass whole from Boston.
Don't give up the day job...!! You're wasted on here..!!
