every video i read the most liked comments and they all suggest the best way to make this work, just listen to some people and you'll be able to get the miles you want. Either wake up at dawn, drive for a few hours, charge up at peak sun, then drive a bit more at dawn. Or Charge in day while you sleep and drive at night. Youre obviously not going to get enough charge in the AM to allow you to drive all day.

Honestly living for the chaos of it all and for you sticking to it! I know a lot of ppl have opinions like "get a new bike, or buy this, or do that" -- but I like how authentic the journey is -- just a dude, with his solar powered scooter, trying to get from point a to point b. If you get to italy by bike, great. If you don't but have fun along the way, also great!! thanks for sharing the journey with us :)

11:31 so keep in mind a lithium battery is like a big car park the first electrons (cars) find spaces easily but the last 20% start to struggle to find spaces.. getting the battery to 80% is easy but the last 20% can take a lot longer.. good luck

I think the challenge should be modified to only charging the external battery bank by outlets but the battery has to be exclusively charged via the sun or battery bank. That way the entire length of the trip you still need to use the sun and can still have some juice from the external battery to keep you going. Then at night the adventure is to find interesting places to charge the battery pack without getting it stolen! Also living like a vampire and driving at night while sleeping/charging the day will utilize the time best.

These foldable solar panels do not give you enough power. I would carry a few proper lightweight flexible solar panels mounted like a surfboard on the side of the vehicle and deploy them anytime you have optimal irradiance and rest at the same time. If time is a factor then the journey has to revolve around maximum solar charging as and when its optimally available

France has the less polluting grid thanks to nuclear: go solar.
Italy has a polluting gas and coal grid: charge from cafes... Ok 😂

Normally the electric bikes have a reverse gear. Next to the horn

Why cant you charge the bike at the same time? i.e. solar into to the battery and 240 out to the bike? Surely be more time efficient.

I think that a direct DC converter from solar would not be able to communicate and get past the safety protocols of the BMS to charge the battery directly. Anyone else has a clue?

Can I make a suggestion why not have a solar panel directly charging your bike after all its dc the loss charging dc to ac back to dc is incredible why not get a fit for purpose solar panel made to directly charge the bike at the same time your charging your solar generator so effectively two panels

To bad you can’t charge while on the road somehow. Maybe a solar canopy over the bike😊😂😂

Just doing it on a ev scooter charging at ev points is a feat itself..cant see point of solar gear

If you're only averaging 40 miles a day, thats going to be at least 17 days to reach Northern Italy. Frankly, that bike is little more than a toy, you need something that charges faster, possibly smaller battery, so your solar chargers could actually charge it in time. I'm sure it'll be fine when it gets to its intended destination, but this is so far out of spec for this you risk destroying it.
