A small tipp, there are apps where you can find plugs for e bikes! Mostly they are for free and have the casual socket schuko, or a bike charging cable.

To make this trip you should have definitely bought a type 2 (EV Car plug) to shucko (regular household plug) adapter to take advantage of the vast EV charger network in Europe.

Why not charge at EV chargers with a Type 2 to Schuko adaptor? So much easier and AC chargers are everywhere. :-)

I like the overlay i think it helps us understand how good or bad these e scooters handle hilly terrains.
That‘s not what they are made for. They‘re for urban areas.
@@claudiakarl7888 I live in a small town. Surrounded by many villages and it's daily hilly. I think the information is quite valuable I want to know the bike can go up a hill at a reasonable pace.

You need a DC to DC converter to 'parallel ' that auxiliar battery with the scooter battery and always charge everything simultaneously...

@@ravenofthewild Yeah but maybe they saw it happen and then he didn't acknowledge it when he asked to use their power. You could forgive them for being a bit disgruntled about that.
Maybe they just didn't have sockets nearby ..not every place does.

@08:50 there is free movement of people between the EU and Switzerland, as they are both in the Schengen area. However, you are leaving the EU and the customs union, so goods will be inspected!

Greetings from the lakeside in Montreux. The border town Vallorbe is on one of the peaks of the Jura mountains and Lausanne is down at Lac Léman on about 400 metres altitude.
Getting over the Alpes is a much harder challenge.

Do more of these videos!! I love them. Had the same experience with my electric bike in reunion island and it’s worse cause every road is a hill. Good thing is it’s a small island and people are very kind there and would let you charge for free at petrol stations, restaurants even when I was stranded in the rain and battery drained instantly I got to someone place they hosted me for 3 hours and had the best chat. I feel bad how restaurant owners refuse to use their socket yet you even offer to eat or buy something.

You must Get an Typ2 adapter to Schuko contact, then you can use the electric chargers WITH some App or Card from a charge provider!✅😉
So the title should say "Can I drive an electric scooter from UK to Italy?" since you are no longer doing this on solar power.
Sorry to be a bit rude Louis but you are a bit of a prat. take everything or the scooter that you are not going to use courier it to your destination in Italy. Check your tyre pressures every day before you set off or you will have a burst tyre. Use Airbnb and charge overnight, check after 10 minutes that the batteries are actually charging. Do this and you might make it.

I know your trip is finished, but wondering if you could have configured one of the solar panels to charge the back up battery while you were driving. Supplementing while you go, obviously not enough to sustain the daily trip, but topping up the battery for emergency charging.
