What wonderful value for money! The room is spacious and nicely appointed--the beds look big and comfy. All the necessary amenities are supplied. The food looks both delicious and beautiful. And the quiet, convenient location is a real plus. Thank you, Shinichi, for being a source of well-priced, good-quality accommodations and eateries that we'd probably never know about otherwise.💖🌺
That's amazing! Beautiful place for the price, and the food looked incredible. If I lived nearby, I think I would get a room every once in a while just to relax and treat myself.
I always enjoy what a wonderful job you do in explaining everything, every detail, in your videos. I hope you and your family are feeling better in your health. Thank you for taking the time to go to such length to explain everything. It is very interesting.
You guys are so good at finding these gems of hotels! What a lovely place and such a great room, especially for the price. I was surprised to find out you could build on top of a temple! That breakfast is beautiful! And every time I see Satoshi in shorts, I can't help but notice his shapely and muscular calves!
Interesting place. Religious places have always opened themselves for boarding, shelter and hostel services. It's not unheard of to have a monastery or religious school etc to even end up affiliated with a hospitality service an become a hotel, especially if its a well visited place, or in the middle of a city. It had to have been a unique, and peaceful, hospitality experience. There definitely won't be a lounge but you know that good church food is traditional and made with care and is probably amazing. 😉
What an incredible hotel. Everything was thoughtfully designed in the room. The breakfast looked like a beautiful feast; in Japan presentation appears to be everything. I'd give anything to have a healthy breakfast like that every day. There's too much stodge in North American breakfast options, though when I used to travel, I was guilty of eating unhealthy breakfasts. Eggs Benedict and champagne whenever possible 😅
Oh my goodness that breakfast looked amazing!🤤 That is such a beautiful hotel and the price is unbelievable. I'm definitely remembering this place if I ever get to go to Kyoto. It's on my list because I want to visit the Momotaro gorilla family at the zoo. I watch videos of them all the time and I just love them. Would love to see them in person someday. And now I know where I'm gonna stay. Thanks Shinichi.😊
I hope you feel rested and refreshed after that brief stay. The hotel room ... at the unbelievable rate is fabulous. The almost spartan/minimalist decor is perfect although I thought the sink was a bit too near the bed for me. The food, simply too pretty to eat! 🌼👍 Thank you for sharing this with us.👍❤
Love Japan been thre stay Kyoto beautiful country visit nice and clean ppls don’t speak English some they do stunning hotel love amenities thank you beautiful video 💕🌷💕
I've seen it on a different channel, and I've seen it here, but in the morning, it seems that the activity is to show the next temple and experience Zazen. I definitely want to go. Mitsui Garden Hotel is nationwide and is easy to spend, so if you come to Japan, please stay overnight.
I remember staying at a ryokan walkind distance from kyoto station. Just behind it was a temple. I loved the monks reciting sutras in the morning. I'm not sure about how I feel about a hotel on top of a temple. The room for that price is great deal, though I rathe rhave the sink in the bathroom, and quiet is always a plus in my opinion. And the shoji screens look so beautiful. ANd breakfast options look delicious, even for me who hardly eat breakfast. I would definitely keep this hotel in mind if I visit Kyoto for a few days.
The thing about Japan slow-walking tourism to an absurd degree is that for the folks that are lucky enough to have permission to go to Japan, the prices are ridiculously cheap at the moment. Being half Japanese and with the ability to get a special family and friends travel visa, I need to go again before the prices shoot up after the inevitable tourism surge that will come after Japan finally opens up to outsiders.
Great video. I know this is the wrong channel for this, but you did promise us a Tsukiji outer market fallow up and I just wanted to remind you. Thanks.
I cannot believe a beautiful room that size only cost ¥5200 for two people. It definitely looks like it should cost more, especially with the amenities included. The only, slight, downside I see is the sink being outside of the bathroom. If you have two people in the room it could bother the other person if you’re using it while they are sleeping since you would need the light on and the noise. Other than that fantastic find!
i think there’s a benefit too , like if somebody is using the bathroom and you need to wash your hands you can always just use the sink since it is placed outside.. i had certain scenarios where i wanted the sink both inside and outside the bathroom so there’s pros and cons to both
@@pavvash6365 very true! They could keep the sink outside and easily add one inside the bathroom as well. Not only do they have the room needed for another sink in there, they already have a cabinet/vanity in there. Connect to the existing plumbing inside the wall, cut a hole in the top of the cabinet/vanity and then install a sink and faucet. Best of both worlds!
It occured to me that you could get yourself all nice and clean in the shower and then go have a soak in the bath.... Or the opposite, even. Soak in the bath first and then rinse and clean off in the shower. That's a nice thought.
The hotel is nice and cozy. The only downside for me is the lavatory located outside the bathroom. I mean, it could be for aesthetic or what, but looking inside the bathroom, it could have been placed where the cabinet with the robes are. It's just weird that the sink was outside. And yes, there was the cemetery too. Overall, it was okay I guess. But I'd rather look for other hotels that don't put their sink on the hallway.
At first I was wondering why the price is quite cheap for such a nice hotel, then I saw the cemetery and understood XD. I know it's not logical, but in every culture there's tendency to avoid living or boarding near cemeteries. I guess only those who are brave or don't believe in such things can stay in this hotel calmly.
@@bkklifeguard i can assure you it's not just for Asians, even whites and blacks from various countries and continents too have tendency to avoid living or sleeping near cemeteries. Like it or not, it's embedded in our instinct, I guess, to avoid any sombre reminders of what comes after living :). Cemeteries can be a quite solemn memento mori regardless of cultures. It is a nice hotel tho- I'm sure those who are eager for the experience or have limited budgets will be enjoying the hotel.

Not suitable for claustrophobic as bathroom and toilet are enclosed without any windows. Also hopefully there's air filter installed otherwise very unhygienic
my apartment’s bathroom doesn’t have a window and isn’t much bigger than this one - have lived here 25 yrs and am doing just fine - not sure what your problem is

$36 US/day?!! 🥳🤯 That's the nicest hotel Ive ever seen for that price. That can't even get an Airbnb where I live.
Same here
52$ a day, the got it wrong. 5200 yen is 52$

This close to the cemetery will turn off a lot of guests. The hotel seems to be build on the grounds of a community cemetery.
Thanks Guys, what great value. I hope they speak a little English.
Hello Shinichi, I hope you are well. I’m sorry if you have answered this before, may I ask what you film these videos on?
In Australia you would never find a room that cheap
Did I miss the in-room toilet and shower? Just saw the sink
The rate is not available on the hotel website anymore
Hi, My daughter is planning on going to Kyoto. Does the Temple Hotel still have this incredible price?

I understand the 'do not disturb' & 'make up the room' tags on the door, but what is the 'we are safe' tag used for?

I'm thinking the price is low because they have not let tourists fully in yet.

I just recently did a google search on prices for this hotel and they are back to $120 CAD per night now :(
Wow that was quick! This trip was just a couple of weeks ago.
Very cheap because it's next to cemetary? Western customers might not think much but Asian customers would avoid this type of location. 🤔
👍👍👍👍👍
Clap
how to book that
So surprised to know that people actually love to stay just next to cemetery.
Парни, по ходу, везде вместе.
$36? Are you sure? I checked and it’s way higher than that… Could I get more details?
Are they English friendly? Id be so confused on what someone is talking about.
Yes English is spoken at this hotel
@@IWillAlwaysTravelforFood Sweet! Always looking for places to stay in Kyoto.
The bathroom is almost hidden? Wdym almost? That's practically a hidden secret door
Nice prize for the room. But I dont get it, why the sink is in the room and not next to the toilet. It makes no sinn.
Why is it $300 per night when I checked the website? 🤨
Prices went up as borders opened up to the world
In Lithuania hotel like this would be 100$ if not more
$36 a night in the US will get you bed bugs and stale fruit loops 🤣
