    I have undergone a surgical procedure to change my discoid meniscus to a regular-looking meniscus and also had a meniscus repair. Despite engaging in physical therapy, I have not experienced any improvement in the range of motion of my knee. What could be the underlying reasons for this lack of progress?

    • @MatthewHarbMD
      @MatthewHarbMD  10 місяців тому

      could be a tear in the meniscus

    I hear alot about avoiding knee replacement surgery with new joint treatments, to include rejuvenation and the ability to regrow cartilage or even silicon cartilage replacement. Is any of this real?

      We have different injections that can help the knee. The include steroid, gel, and prp injections. These can help but they are not replacements for full bone on bone arthritis. Really the only treatment for full bone on bone that is not improved with injection is replacement. People are very active after replacement.

I'm scheduled for a arthroscopy again to clean bone pces out but i cant keep doing this every year. there has to be someone out there that's seen a active amputee like me b4. i lost l leg knee disarteculation n a hip disarticulation on the right. got hurt at age of 9 months in train accident w my father. I'm 50 now. I'm not joking drs say elbows are 8 to 9 outa 10. 10 being not working.

      fusions vs replacement, there are not great options. May be helpful to find a good pain specialist and look for custom braces.

      @@MatthewHarbMD is it possible to use a knee joint replacement in the elbow, I mean can it be adapted to work in an elbow? I am a very big guy. Very muscular because of how I've had to use my arms. My arms are the size of some people's legs. I just don't know how well I would get along with a fused elbow. I'm so just frustrated and I just don't know anymore. I don't understand why the elbow joints aren't as durable as the knee replacements . But they said I would literally break an elbow replacement
