I go with my M1000R to trackdays also so I recommend disassembling the front headlight, not only because it must cost around $1000 or more, but also because it's just two screws and a connector. The connector should be covered with tape to prevent dirt and secured with a cable tie. This also aids in ram air, although it's not exactly lacking power. Rear license plate and turn signals are a different story; the first time you disassemble them, it's a lot of work. The good thing is that you can leave the connectors accessible for the next time so it takes five minutes to remove the two screws and three connectors. It's worth it if you're going to the track often; otherwise, it's best to leave it as is.
Super cool video. Did you have a small or large preference for the 1000R vs the 1000RR more on track? Besides taking wind on the naked, any other real stand outs between the two bikes? Glad to see no mention of anyone crashing. The track is really good, or really expensive!
I was a lot faster around the track on my s1000rr but I was way more comfortable on my m1000r. After a session on the s1000rr I would be really sore and my M I wasnt sore at all
