How does someone that far in front come out of nowhere? 😅 hindsight is always 20/20 and mistakes can happen quickly but you should have passed before the turn in
This wouldn't have happened if you spent time with an instructor like the guy you hit was doing. "I thought he was taking some weird outside line" yes, the faster racing line straight to the apex you decided to occupy. Your replacement bike should be whatever low CC bike he was riding and some lessons with an instructor.
@@PBMS123 Hmm. First off let’s establish that most riders don’t know what they are doing most of the time. The rider who crashed was absolutely one of those. So a consensus of comments from other riders who don’t know what they’re doing is meaningless. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt that you can ride. In that case you are simply mistaken about the reality of this particular incident. T15 is a double apex corner, the passing rider has 100% of the responsibility to make a safe pass, the rider ahead can’t see the rider behind but the rider behind can see the rider ahead (and he was wearing a fucking bright yellow vest!), an inside pass on the exit has a high probability of 2 bikes coming together and that’s exactly what happened. The video shows what happened from the crasher’s perspective but does not give an accurate representation of the line of the rider ahead. You’d need an overhead video for that. He wasn’t too wide. Further evidence that the crashed rider was incompetent/over his head is that you could see earlier in the session he was being coached by a rider on a 390 KTM, he was all over the track and he couldn’t even keep up on his 1000RR until he decided to go by his coach a few turns before the crash. He demonstrated a lack of skills and poor decision making. The student rider ahead on a 400 was seen to be riding a predictable line hitting every apex and exit. This is not a shared responsibility accident, it was totally caused by the crashed rider.
Glad you are semi ok. .Maybe you are new to track and that track and the bike, why are you touching the clutch lever at all ? And passing is the rear riders responsibility. I hope you get back onboard soon
was no inside passing not part of the rider's meeting? Thats a common thing they say at least for the learner group. kinda why they say that right here. none of yall are going fast enough to have predictable lines and only allowing outside passing just makes the process way safer. track days arent for wadding up bikes. also you could have just motored around him on the straight just a corner away.
It's all a learning curve, the guy in front looks like he's wearing a yellow bib which notifies other's that they are Learner and to be very cautious. Yea he left a door open if you were racing but in this case it was track day and as with morning briefing all are told not to overtake on the inside of a turn. As I say it's a learning curve and one mistake you won't make again, besides we all make them, welcome to track days, glad all are fine.
@@Tank_Taps People so easily forget that this sport has REAL consequences from $$$ to injury to death. They listen to the usual rider's meeting comments and just go out on track and not pay any attention to their own safety or other riders. And there is virtually nothing that track event organizers (around here PNW) do on track to correct this behavior or weed out the bad apples. Organizers concern about 'safety' stops at the rider's meeting very unfortunately. They could do lots of things to address these behaviors in what we all know is an inherently risky sport...but they don't. The takeaway should be that this crash and any crash that involves 2 bikes is 99% avoidable. And if it's avoidable, why isn't anything being done about it?
Everybody convinced you it is your fault. Please rest assured it is NOT your fault! I own the M1000R and your videos really helped me to understand the electronics of my bike a bit better. I enjoy your videos and style. Thanks for your time and efforts. Greetings from the South of Europe. Stay safe!
That was an insanely bad decision to try a pass right there. You should have expected him to come to the apex. You shouldn't pass on the inside. And for God's sake, you are on a liter bike about to be on the long straight in one more turn...
So, when you on track you need to drive like on track, if you can't, don't go on track, because is not safe for all. The manouvre of the guy it's without sense, ut he is in your front, you've the responsability of what you do, because he can't know what's behind him.. you have the visual and you can decide or not to pass, if he has a very slow bike, you can pass very easily on the first line track.. anyway i can understand all, but you do the bad manouvre..

well it was on track thats the place to do stuff like this and yes it can happen but good its not to bad you will heal
Thank you. Exactly the right comment and analysis.
You don't go that wide to double apex the corner.
That student rider had zero situational awareness. Yes, some mistakes made, but he did too.
@@PBMS123 you really don't know what you're talking about
@@mattguss yeah I do, and the other comments agree.
That'll buff right out 😆😆
😂
Time to get a Honda CBR One Thousand Mutha Effin' TRIPLE 'R'............ SP EDITION!!
Lfg, it’s on the list haha
This is why my mum doesnt want me to get a bike but i say nuh uh gimme that ninja 500
😂😂
Glad you are semi ok. .Maybe you are new to track and that track and the bike, why are you touching the clutch lever at all ? And passing is the rear riders responsibility. I hope you get back onboard soon
I’m pretty new to track riding for sure. 100% my fault I agree. Hard lesson to learn haha
was no inside passing not part of the rider's meeting? Thats a common thing they say at least for the learner group. kinda why they say that right here. none of yall are going fast enough to have predictable lines and only allowing outside passing just makes the process way safer. track days arent for wadding up bikes.
also you could have just motored around him on the straight just a corner away.
Mixing small and big bikes on track days are a recipe for disaster
I’ve never actually been to a track day where they separate the bikes
Agreed. It certainly can be a recipe for disaster…
Thanks man!!
At the ridge! Man it was a rough season for many people there this year
That is true..
Especially for Steve Nakagawa who was killed by another rider in the chicane on August 13 at a 2 Fast event.
@@mattguss this is exactly what I was referring to unfortunately
U turned into the bike😂😂huAEAeaEaEauAaYEuzr
It can happen to anyone, glad ur good…
It can yeah.. and yeah I’m doing good now!
rule one on open track days... expect the unexpected. ie treat everone else like thay cant ride.
Ya. It’s your fault. It’s your responsibility to pass clean, certainly wasn’t that. It’s a track day, not WSBK. Lesson learned. Glad you are both OK.
100% agree. Thanks man
they need to have small bike and big bike sessions.
I feel those groaned exhales. Just trying to force air out of your lungs so you can breathe in again
Haha yeah not fun at all
Everybody convinced you it is your fault. Please rest assured it is NOT your fault! I own the M1000R and your videos really helped me to understand the electronics of my bike a bit better. I enjoy your videos and style. Thanks for your time and efforts. Greetings from the South of Europe. Stay safe!
Thank for your support!! And you’re welcome. Lots of videos to come!!
That was an insanely bad decision to try a pass right there. You should have expected him to come to the apex. You shouldn't pass on the inside. And for God's sake, you are on a liter bike about to be on the long straight in one more turn...
Feel so bad😢😢
I’m all good now 😁
I’m so so so sorry man about the fracture if your making 0:01 noises like a deer or frog it’s got to be bad
You are correct sir
@@topmaster999 please don't take like a direct offence, i understand that bike is not absolutely cheap, i've the maximum respect of your health and money loose, but i crash a lot on track with my scooter, and i can suggest you, to prevent health and money loose, to start step by step. But the main question i can tell you from my personal experience, it's always balance, your life with your personal skill, your life is only one, the bike can be repaired.. here in Italy we say, never do the step up your range leg, i hope i can translate the best i can, but the sense is, never do a thing if you are not ready to do it. As best wishes, i like to give you my personal bless to prevent that crash never happen again to you. With friendly, i give my best to you from Italy. Anyway shit happens, but sometime its better leave happen to someone else 🙂
wait damn did u get rid of it, was gonna ask to buy the dash from yah
😂😂 the dash didn’t survive
@@topmaster999 Yeah, but you could have sold the engine. BMW engines are bowling up and people are in need.
I did get some money from it yeah, wasn’t a total loss 😁
That must have hurt.Get better. Mistakes are made😔
They sure do!
Get 👏an 👏 airbag 👏suit 👏
I had one on! 😂
@@topmaster999 It was Dainese wasn't it? Those only cover like around the neck and the small part of the shoulders, they don't cover the chest/ribs and the back like Alpinestars do
Really? I honestly didn’t know alpinestars had more protection. It was dainese yeah. I’m just glad I had some protection haha.
@@topmaster999 Yes alpinestars has WAY more coverage, the full torso is covered 360, glad you're okay though 👍
Oh man.. sorry about this. Im sure insurance will cut you a check for a new Bike. I remember my first Track Day. The instructor told us, dont pass if the bike in front is all ready leaning into the turn, dont pass (he cant see you) n ull crash
Lessons were learned that day haha
@@topmaster999 You are right, because its counter intuitive, in Moto GP/WSBK its the Only place you make a pass, but unless a person is trained by a pro, most don't know its also the most dangerous place too.
I get that this is Novice group, but why are you using your clutch while you're out on the track mid-corner?
whats your suit?
Dainese d air
Bro the asphalt on that track is horrendus ngl
It’s brutal yeah
if you have a bigger/faster bike and the other guy has a slower/smaller bike the safest way to pass is on the straight. 🙃🙃🙃
100% agree
I understand racing bikes not having mirrors... but in this case this accident could've been avoided.
