They can't show Vaio's logo in the movie because they are making money, and Vaio could sue them for profiting off of their intellectual property. They have a choice of either paying Vaio for rights to use their logo for pofit, or just covering it with a sticker. Filmmakers do this with the apple logos on MacBooks as well.

You know, I think these days, people just stopped caring about what people think about them on the internet. They just don't give it much emotional investment. Bullying loses its power when you just simply don't give it the attention it desires. Really the movie is trying to say something meaningful, but it doesn't succeed. Maybe if it wrote more interesting characters and actually tried to seriously talk about the subject. Also the fact that, "Too gay to lift" made it to the final cut says something. I mean, that's almost as bad as, "They should be dead by now, go and finish what's left of them."
this is the dumbest movie ever seriously if someone post something about you turn it into a joke laugh along with the people that saw/read because if they see you don't give a fuck then they eventually they wont its seriously how I became one of the poplars I was generally nice to everyone and people saw me as a fun having down to earth kinda guy because I just never cared. people that do need help in my opinion because like you said most of us have just adapted to the fact theres asshats on the internet and tbh bulling can help you develop its being bullied that can get you to the point of not caring what people think.
Gerafki Really, if you always care about what everyone else thinks about you, you won't get very far. It's extremely difficult to please everyone so just try and be nice and you'll attract people who at least enjoy your niceness.
2000: that guy just got beat up haha *eveyone laughs* 2012: that guy just got beat up hahaha. *eveyone feels bad for the guy and helps him* 2018: A Guy just got beat up? Well eveyone has thee right to freedom of expression. Shouldn't have been a cuck.
HAHAHA i can't even comprehend that Too gay to lift line. Someone thought of that. Wrote it down. Sent it to some executives and it was green lit. Incredible.
+Elvick apparently there's a huge divide on that, because there's a majority that believe it's "lift". Personally i don't care. I'm here to laugh at a pitiful excuse for a cyberbully movie.
I once saw this video, probably at school or on disney channel, about how to respond to bullying, and one of the ideas (after just ignoring it) was to go along with the joke. So the skit went: "Your shirt is stupid" "Thanks! This is my stupid shirt!" To this day, i jave yet to hear of a better, more effective method to deal with bullying.
Also i can't find the video anywhere, so if anyone else has seen it or knows where to find it, could you please confirm that i didn't make it up or have some fever dream thanks
this happened to me lmao, this guys called me a dumb bitch and i was like " no way bro, i think so too!!" he turned out to be an alright guy, just going through stuff at the time
That's actually how I learned to deal with my brother. He bullied me constantly just to get a rise out of me, so I'd make jokes instead of getting angry. In a lot of ways it worked because he wasn't as cruel anymore but he never stopped looking at me as a cheap form of entertainment. I guess it works better when you don't live with them.
Personally, I do believe cyberbullying IS a thing, and a real problem, but, they handled it very poorly in this movie, and they failed to mention that blocking people is an option, and stuff. If you block people, they'll go away, and the problem will be solved. Depending on what they say, it can cause lasting emotional damage, but, at least give the kids an option on how to stop it, this movie doesn't even explain how the actual victims can stop it, it just shows the effects they can have.
One thing they did at least get right is that the bullies are also schoolmates, so it's kind of hard to avoid them just by blocking. They still made them look like friggin' idiots by showing that they "never thought" of using the block feature. They also kind of negate the cyberbullying angle by making the bullies also be their peers... I don't know why they didn't make it purely about cyberstalking. Just make it some creepy weirdo she never physically sees or something, like Fatal Attraction but for teenagers on the internet.
Lmao I lost a friend over this movie because I don't like this movie and I told her and she took that as I support bullying me so she tried to bully me.
+Cleaver2396 That's what I thought, but after reading the comments I watched it again - he definitely says "lift." Either that's actually the line or that actor's got one hell of a lisp.
Guys please help me my friend came over to my house and we were playing roblox and i wrote down my username and password and he took the paper i wrote it on and hacked me! please help!!!
0:28 "YOUR A GUY! theres a difference between guys and girls" wtf does that have to do with someone not liking a movie? Is that supposed to imply guys can't get cyberbullied the same as girls? Maybe all of the guys you've met have just blocked them... Also, how would you know he is a guy anyway? His name???
We saw this in class and I basically tore this "movie" a new asshole. Like...really? Everything about this movie is so unrealistic and was obviously created by suits who don't really know/care about what happens on the internet and how it affects people. It was almost insulting.
What makes it weird is that movies about cyber bullying or the dangers of the internet always have the perpetrators be people that the main characters confront daily. Like in this movie apparently the popular girl is picking on the main girl online and the popular girl’s father says she can’t get in trouble for harassing her online, but she also picks on her at school too! Why can’t she tell a teacher or something? Or confront the popular girl at school, since she isn’t proven to be a shy person or anything? In other words, The main character can deal with their issues face to face but seemingly choose not to because... the story needs to imply that the issue lies in the internet as opposed to the obvious culprits that THE AUDIENCE IS FULLY AWARE OF. Like, the movie shows that the main characters problem lies with kids she knows and talks to all the time, but is trying to convince us that it’s the internet’s fault somehow. If they wanted to do this better, they could have the online bully be someone the main character doesn’t know. You know, like how online harassment usually works?
Director: "I want to direct characters to feel like real kids." Me: "Do you know how to make characters feel like real kids." Director: "No." Me: "Then just dont."
I saw this movie once during some computer class in middle school, the only thing I thought during the entire movie was "oh that's the girl from Hannah Montana"
The biggest problem with this film is the simple fact that the main character is completely unlikable with little to no positive traits and acts like an idiot who doesn't do anything to prevent the problem from escalating. Adam even outright said ways to prevent problems from happening such as blocking anyone that send nasty message, making the profile more private, and make your password more difficult for anyone to find.
There's a major flaw in your review and that is you're reviewing a film made for ABC Family, of course it's gonna be terrible like going as a guest to a high school graduation.
He pointed out some really good things that the movie either decided to ignore to make things seem worse, or the creator is an idiot. So his review is good, even though its an ABC movie. Making a movie on this subject and ignoring common sense things like blocking people, hurts the message... Since people will point that out and brush off the movie and actual serious cyber bullying. It also doesn't help teens by leaving out common sense solutions... Review validated by giving suggestions. Lol
Because you know it's gonna suck before you sit down and watch it because apparently the writers are secretly some sort of alien life form that can't quite grasp what being a human is all about and thus they produce programming like this.
8:42 _Where can I find this glorious sound effect?_ Also I love your reviews, they can pretty much take the most boring and dumb movie in existence and make it entertaining.

And to dismiss the gay character as a side note is just insulting since most are attacked with homophobia as the main motivator.

I'm a kid, and even I took it better than the main character. One time, a UA-camr on an amino was swearing and saying I was "bashing them wherever they go" (I asked them to respect their fans in three different occasions). Since you couldn't block people on the app, I deleted it. Sure, it was dumb, but I still made a better decision than the people in the movie.

Cyberbullying is indeed a thing. But it's not the sort of thing that reduced someone to tears in two days. This movie is hilarious.
It's called "blocking"

She could've solved all of this by just blocking people and setting her profile to private. Something similar happened to me on MySpace (back in the good ol' days~~~) and I was upset for about two days, until I changed my e-mail and password and set my profile to private. Then guess what? IT NEVER HAPPENED AGAIN. Seriously, it's not that fucking hard. Especially since most of those shitheads are saying those things to her online and not to her face. Block them online, you won't see the comments. Seriously. It's not that fucking difficult.

Gerafki Really, if you always care about what everyone else thinks about you, you won't get very far. It's extremely difficult to please everyone so just try and be nice and you'll attract people who at least enjoy your niceness.

I once saw this video, probably at school or on disney channel, about how to respond to bullying, and one of the ideas (after just ignoring it) was to go along with the joke. So the skit went: "Your shirt is stupid" "Thanks! This is my stupid shirt!"
To this day, i jave yet to hear of a better, more effective method to deal with bullying.

Just make it some creepy weirdo she never physically sees or something, like Fatal Attraction but for teenagers on the internet.
here's the fix to the problem, close the fucking computer and do this thing called go outside

Too gay to lift is one of the best statements in human history

This was the first video I ever watched on YMS'S channel and I'm so glad I stuck around. He's my go to for movie reviews, love ya dude.
An accurate depiction on how melodramatic and petty cyberbullying really is
There's a major flaw in your review and that is you're reviewing a film made for ABC Family, of course it's gonna be terrible like going as a guest to a high school graduation.
As a film, it's horrible.
He's a reviewing a film, not the ABC Family lineup.
Just sayin' it's like shooting fish in a barrel using an RPG.
Lol
ABC Family sucks. They made a shitty ripoff of Raising Hope because they were desperate for more viewers...
Because you know it's gonna suck before you sit down and watch it because apparently the writers are secretly some sort of alien life form that can't quite grasp what being a human is all about and thus they produce programming like this.
