Cheap Tint vs 3M Window Tint

TKO Tinting in Perth, Western Australia demonstrates the difference in heat transfer using a very dark cheap window tint compared to a high quality clear 3M Window Film. The 3M Window Film used is Crystalline 70 and we are using an infrared heat lamp and a heat sheet.

Is that cheap tint is ceramic film or regular film? It is very interesting!

Is the glass reacting to the heat or to red?

This didn't tell me anything about the difference in applying them to a window. What one is easier to handle without pinching or are they all the same.

I like the crystalline one but at the same time I’d wish it was darker. Does it come in dark tint?!

19sert 19sert Yes it does, we stock Crystalline 40, 70 and 90. 40 being the darkest legal tint you can install in Western Australia. They do sell Crystalline 20 but it is darker than the legal limit when tested with a VLT (Visible Light Transmitted) meter.

I wouldn’t say Crystalline is yellow from the inside but it does have a slight browny/golden tinge to it unlike the more traditional black/grey looking films.
