I was raised in Catholicism and the Lord saved me out of that system. I always found it troubling that I did not understand the gospel, the word of God, or how to be right with God. There is no evidence of an full apostasy, only a partial according to the revelation of the Word of God written in the New Testament. And there are promises from the Lord Jesus to His Church in the New Testament that there would not be a full apostasy. Second, the reformers appealed to the higher authority of God Himself over the errors of some bishops, such as the bishop of Rome. I will note that if you are LDS your literature speaks favorably of Luther and calvin, yet these same reformers taught that anyone who taught the view of God that Joseph Smith taught was a false teacher and should be rejected. So if you actually read Luther or Calvin, they explicitly rule out anyone doing the kind of teaching that Joseph Smith did.

I’m a 5 point Calvinist who will see some Catholics in heaven. And will see some Calvinists in hell. Because Calvinism and TULIP is correct, scripturally. Perseverance of the Saints 😎 That said, no one likes a cage-stage Calvinist. But it’s still better than a nominal Christian of any denomination. PS- I will not see ANY Mormons in heaven. What authority decided which books would makeup the Bible? And where did their authority come from? Christ established the Universal Church before His passion and endowed that Church with His authority, then sent the Holy Spirit after His resurrection to ensure it would be protected. So unless you believe the powers of the Holy Spirit and Christ are not able to stand up to earthly temptations, I would suggest you're faith is being misplaced.

I know Christianity started with Jesus Christ so that's around 30 A.D. but Roman Catholicism was not recognized until around 600 A.D. and had their first Pope with Gregory the Great (opposed to what RC is saying that their first pope is Peter). Reformation happened because Roman Catholic priests in the 1500s noticed that Catholicism was not following what the Bible says and so these priests called for reformation in order to correct the wrong teachings of Catholicism. And because the Pope did not want to conform their teachings to the Bible, which is the Word of God, they (the reformers) protested, that's why they are called Protestants. You don't know the history of church, you have no right to say that Paul Washer did not study. Pastors studied a lot, including church history. I was also born and raised as a Catholic so I know you are just an ordinary Catholic who thought he knows Catholicism (I used to think that way). All men are sinners and deserve God's wrath and judgment. Roman Catholicism teaches that in order to be saved, you need to repent, have faith in Jesus Christ and you need to have good works. That (faith + works) is not biblical and that is what reformers are protesting. Purgatory is also not recorded in the Bible so when you die, you either go straight to heaven or straight to hell just like the story in Luke 16. We only have one chance here on earth. If you are truly a Christian, seek God, the true God of the Bible, not the one created by pagan religions. Be thankful that Jesus is taught in RC but if you are His follower, you must follow Him, not the pope who is fallible. I'm not going to advise you to follow anybody else but the Word of God, the Bible.

The number of converts out of following the bishop of Rome to Bible believing Christian church is much larger then the number of apostates. That's according to surveys done in the United States. My reading of 2Tim 3:16-17 shows that the ‘sacred writings’ Timothy was acquainted with from childhood … could only have been the Old Testament. If this is a proof of sola scripture, it is really proving sola Old Testament. Now the question. Which collection of ‘sacred writings’ was Timothy acquainted with? It was different for the Pharisees, Sadducee’s, essenes, and other Jews. So sola WHICH Old Testament?

Friend, I was an elder of a Pentecostal Parish and am a convert to the Catholic Church our Lord founded in Mt 16,18. Your view is so warped that I don’t know where to start. The Catholic Church was so named by Saint Ignatius in the 1st century. The martyrs upheld the faith for 300 years under the greatest persecution. When the hardship ended by God’s grace under Konstantin, the Church got attacked from within by Arianism under which most faithful Bishops died, were exiled or cancelled until the truth about Christ’s divinity prevailed. The Catholic Church defended the Bible, copied it many 1000 of times and gave us the Canon in 380 under Pope Damasus. It converted much of the known world, built centers of prayer, education, and charity. Without the Catholic Church the Protestants would neither have the Bible, the Church Fathers, the Trinity nor anything else on which they build their faith. What the Catholic Church has never done is to change the tradition of the Apostels (2. Thess 2,15). That is what Bishops promise upon ordination. Many are unfaithful these days but the Church cannot change (Mt 16,18). A Catholic friend 🥰📿🙏

Or how is Sola Scriptura doing in reaching an ungodly world with Corporate Denominations with top leadership making six figures and retiring well with all those small churches under them that have part-time pastors working full-time jobs sending while their little church sends up large percentage of the money they bring in to support the Denomination HQ with its global ministry? Or the churches with slides, tubes, skate parks, basketball courts, large theater productions, titantrons, large screens, elaborate coffee shops? Protestantism calling out Catholicism to paint its face however to reach an ungodly culture is like the pot calling the kettle black!!! In 600 years of Protestantism it has been fraught with division and any man or woman can start his or her own church and all the churches are modeled on research and marketing (planting a church here will reach this demographic) and all go the way of the culture with endless entertainment offered as worship while each church rakes in as much money as possible to buy the latest corporate lobby, media stylized theater seating, lighting and sound system that capitalism can buy! Not sure how Sola Scriptura has done anything to prevent Protestantism from painting its face in whatever manner to attract an ungodly culture. And when you look into it and discover the early Church didn’t have the New Testament for 50+ years and the full NT until 150-200 A.D. and then it was still hundreds upon hundreds of years later before most Christians could even own A FAMILY BIBLE that it’s hard to justify the principle of Sola Scriptura! Examine the fruits of Sola Scriptura and Protestantism. Are they not division? Does it not tend towards the ever changing tides of culture? How are the protesting children of the schismatic Church of Rome all that different? Do they not also have their own popes (celebrity pastors or ceo pastors or founding pastors)? Do they not have their own magisterium with their church boards or denominational leaders that decide what is taught? In place of statues of Saints you have images of pastors or giant media screens displaying the faces of the band or pastor. On and on you could go if you really looked. I too was a Protestant. I also listened to Paul Washer’s sermons and stern words and judging churches and Christians for a lack of fire or zeal or love for God. I felt something was missing and I knew it wasn’t a return to Catholicism. I found the Church that Jesus Christ began! The Holy Eastern Orthodox Church! Come and see!

And I will see those same denominations in hell, if I’m not following the one true salvation: Christ alone, through His word alone.

There is no evidence of an full apostasy, only a partial according to the revelation of the Word of God written in the New Testament. And there are promises from the Lord Jesus to His Church in the New Testament that there would not be a full apostasy. Second, the reformers appealed to the higher authority of God Himself over the errors of some bishops, such as the bishop of Rome. I will note that if you are LDS your literature speaks favorably of Luther and calvin, yet these same reformers taught that anyone who taught the view of God that Joseph Smith taught was a false teacher and should be rejected. So if you actually read Luther or Calvin, they explicitly rule out anyone doing the kind of teaching that Joseph Smith did.

What authority decided which books would makeup the Bible? And where did their authority come from? Christ established the Universal Church before His passion and endowed that Church with His authority, then sent the Holy Spirit after His resurrection to ensure it would be protected. I know Christianity started with Jesus Christ so that's around 30 A.D. but Roman Catholicism was not recognized until around 600 A.D. and had their first Pope with Gregory the Great (opposed to what RC is saying that their first pope is Peter). Reformation happened because Roman Catholic priests in the 1500s noticed that Catholicism was not following what the Bible says and so these priests called for reformation in order to correct the wrong teachings of Catholicism. And because the Pope did not want to conform their teachings to the Bible, which is the Word of God, they (the reformers) protested, that's why they are called Protestants.
You don't know the history of church, you have no right to say that Paul Washer did not study. Pastors studied a lot, including church history. I was also born and raised as a Catholic so I know you are just an ordinary Catholic who thought he knows Catholicism (I used to think that way).
All men are sinners and deserve God's wrath and judgment. Roman Catholicism teaches that in order to be saved, you need to repent, have faith in Jesus Christ and you need to have good works. That (faith + works) is not biblical and that is what reformers are protesting. Purgatory is also not recorded in the Bible so when you die, you either go straight to heaven or straight to hell just like the story in Luke 16. We only have one chance here on earth. If you are truly a Christian, seek God, the true God of the Bible, not the one created by pagan religions. Be thankful that Jesus is taught in RC but if you are His follower, you must follow Him, not the pope who is fallible. I'm not going to advise you to follow anybody else but the Word of God, the Bible.

The number of converts out of following the bishop of Rome to Bible believing Christian church is much larger then the number of apostates. That's according to surveys done in the United States. My reading of 2Tim 3:16-17 shows that the ‘sacred writings’ Timothy was acquainted with from childhood … could only have been the Old Testament.
If this is a proof of sola scripture, it is really proving sola Old Testament.
Now the question. Which collection of ‘sacred writings’ was Timothy acquainted with? It was different for the Pharisees, Sadducee’s, essenes, and other Jews.

The martyrs upheld the faith for 300 years under the greatest persecution. When the hardship ended by God’s grace under Konstantin, the Church got attacked from within by Arianism under which most faithful Bishops died, were exiled or cancelled until the truth about Christ’s divinity prevailed. The Catholic Church defended the Bible, copied it many 1000 of times and gave us the Canon in 380 under Pope Damasus. It converted much of the known world, built centers of prayer, education, and charity. Without the Catholic Church the Protestants would neither have the Bible, the Church Fathers, the Trinity nor anything else on which they build their faith. What the Catholic Church has never done is to change the tradition of the Apostels (2. Thess 2,15). That is what Bishops promise upon ordination. Or the churches with slides, tubes, skate parks, basketball courts, large theater productions, titantrons, large screens, elaborate coffee shops? Protestantism calling out Catholicism to paint its face however to reach an ungodly culture is like the pot calling the kettle black!!!
In 600 years of Protestantism it has been fraught with division and any man or woman can start his or her own church and all the churches are modeled on research and marketing (planting a church here will reach this demographic) and all go the way of the culture with endless entertainment offered as worship while each church rakes in as much money as possible to buy the latest corporate lobby, media stylized theater seating, lighting and sound system that capitalism can buy!
Not sure how Sola Scriptura has done anything to prevent Protestantism from painting its face in whatever manner to attract an ungodly culture. And when you look into it and discover the early Church didn’t have the New Testament for 50+ years and the full NT until 150-200 A.D. and then it was still hundreds upon hundreds of years later before most Christians could even own A FAMILY BIBLE that it’s hard to justify the principle of Sola Scriptura!
Examine the fruits of Sola Scriptura and Protestantism. Are they not division? Does it not tend towards the ever changing tides of culture? How are the protesting children of the schismatic Church of Rome all that different? Do they not also have their own popes (celebrity pastors or ceo pastors or founding pastors)? Do they not have their own magisterium with their church boards or denominational leaders that decide what is taught? In place of statues of Saints you have images of pastors or giant media screens displaying the faces of the band or pastor. On and on you could go if you really looked.
I too was a Protestant. I also listened to Paul Washer’s sermons and stern words and judging churches and Christians for a lack of fire or zeal or love for God. I felt something was missing and I knew it wasn’t a return to Catholicism. I found the Church that Jesus Christ began! The Holy Eastern Orthodox Church! Come and see!

Christian’s do not cling to a denomination. We cling to the inherent word of God and His promises.
I will see Catholics, Orthodox, Baptists, Presby’s (me!!!), and even Methodists (😅) in heaven. And I will see those same denominations in hell, if I’m not following the one true salvation: Christ alone, through His word alone.

We of course are called to leave our homes and give the Gospel. Some will be converted. Most will not. And we will be persecuted as we do this, and so suffer as Christ did. Never are we called to "change the culture" or "win the world for Christ". Jesus said if they hated me, they will hate you. Many are called. FEW are chosen.

True i reside in South Africa, and i tell you now most of the people who are members of RCC here worship the ancestors and they seek council in mediums, the Catholic church teachings and traditions makes people to be comfortable on their sins.....when you tell the people it's wrong to sacrifice animals for the dead and to speak with them, they tell you that they dont worship the ancestors they venerate or acknowledge them just like the RCC venerate and acknowledges Mary and the saints.😢
