Wassup homie it's me Big Duke from Sick Dreams. I have the same issue with my 60. Hopefully I can have sum time to do this same thing. But the thing is mine just stays on full lol well anyhow good video Loco and thanx for info. I'll see u at the picnic homie keep up the videos bro.
I had the same problem changed out all the wires floater and got a new after market gauge I was told I needed the original oem fuel gauge the after market one didn’t have a resistor fuse to read the actual gas level about to try replacing the old fuel gauge in the dash with a new one now hopefully it works
Hey Bro, great video I just subscribed to your channel. I'm trying to figure out the same issue on my 80 Impala, however my gauge reads full instead of empty. I mean the marker is way past the letter F. My dream car is the six-deuce.
There could be many causes here. To start make sure the fuel gauge is in working order. Check your fuel sending unit's wiring, just make sure it's not backwards. If you're using an aftermarket gauge, need to make sure it's ohm rating matches the sending units' ohm rating you just replaced.
I have a '62 Bel Air that was my Dad's. Gas gauge doesn't work. I may try this before replacing the sending unit. THANK YOU for this video!
skot71 no problem, It was an easy fix and way cheaper than replacing the entire unit.

Sounds like it might be a wiring issue with yours bro. Try re-grounding it. See you soon for sure!!

@@lmelch100 appreciate you, sounds like may be a grounding issue with yours. Or the sending unit failed.
FYI/ that is the same float part number listed in Summit's catalog for a Chevy !!
I did see that , was surprised since when I called them when I did this, they didn’t have that part listed
Cool video, goo to know bro!
Thx
On my 62 I replaced the fuel sending unit but when I start the car the needle shoots to full then when I turn off the car it goes down to 3/4

@@SS_Motoring if I’m looking at the back of the fuel gauge the brown cable(sending )is on the left and the pink(power) is on the right, correct?
