- in todays video we go about lifting our own silage, with the 3690,6270,6290,3085 and 7718s on the draw and our class jaguar 890 lifting and the 3075 rowing and the veniri on the pit. all went well no issues and gathered a nice pit of great quality grass.

The auld loading shovel still packs quite a punch despite her age and your 3690 is just as sweet as a nut great vid lad!
Have to admire the amount of work that went into making this video and while doing the silage as well.
Well Phil you have some comfort in that loading shovel. I remember putting up silage in the early 90s with a CAT 910 with no cab. The dry grass on a windy day was a torment as it would cut the face off you. On top of that you'd be well toasted on s sunny day and a wet ret on a rainy one. But worst of all was the flies and midges when you'd be driving on the road at dusk. Neither your ears, mouth, nose or eyes were safe but if I had my time over I'd do it all again.
Loved the video, shame you got stuck on the pit, but I suppose someone had to be there. Great to see the ladies doing a fantastic job bringing in the loads.

Your fair lucky with them women there great workers your sister is a good one some driver and not afraid to get stuck in to any of the jobs. And filming is top class the brother is flying it.
The young lad is very good at the drone. Good when he is doing what he enjoys. The girls are very good at the tractor driving too.
Spotted the lost tine before you mentioned it!! As good as me at breaking them or losing them. Eric is good at flying the drone.

Phil you should get bro his own drone and for him to do drone shots for people hes unreal at it and that loaders a mighty bit of stuff we use a jcb tm 200 and a 3 point buckrake on a adapter

Looks like a good crop so far Phil also great video we’re chopping alfalfa and when we get in a dry spot it’s gets dust also dose every farm over there use bunker style silos we use vertical silos here on our farm in the U.S

Just goes to show with a bit a help hired in and a great crew (incl Eric on the camera) can do at silage time!! Fair play to the team of lads and lassies and what a fine pit a good quality stuff it is Phil!! If ye make a few quid lad put a bit a rubber on the shovel !!! Old but gold she is for sure!! (Oh ya and a few teeth for that pike lol)…..shear grab will find it lol!!!!! If it was only as easy as CLICK CLICK CLICK at the end to cover a fekn pit!!! Stay safe folks !!!

Bit better equipped than the farm I worked on years ago. I remember putting the grass up the clamp with a buck rake on the back of a Fordson Major. The trick was don't turn the tractor over on a patch of soft grass in the clamp and don't stop moving or you will sink. Also the walls were sleepers on end and quite high so rolling was an act of faith that you weren't about to put a wheel over the edge which you couldn't see because of the grass hid it. What do you do with all the effluent that comes off the grass as it ferments. We had a catch pit that had to be emptied before it overflowed and polluted the waterways. Horrible job. Good video you have made there.

When covering the pit 4 days ago I got absolutely roasted, looked like a tomato but we have the farmers tan now so it's not too bad 😂
I'm not Irish, but I'm quite pale with auburn hair, and I can't stand hot weather either. I lived in East Africa (Kenya) a few years back, helping to build a house for my parents. We were right on the Equator and the temperatures were incredible.
We were racing to get the job done before the rainy season arrived, so we worked right through the day instead of just morning and evening when it was cooler.
Putting the timbers up for the roof was hard. At noon the thermometers hit 130°F (about 55°C). I think it may have been a little hotter but the thermometers didn't read any higher.
I'm back in England now. Give me some Yorkshire cloud and rain, a good thick woolly sweater and a hot cup of tea any day!

Great video Phil. I use Agriline a lot and they certainly have a wide range of after market consumables but their postage and packaging is a tad pricey which I find makes them more expensive than their competitors at times, just have to do your homework!

Love watching the cattle chase the tractors along the wire. Always great fun when they break and run into the silage field, once spent and afternoon trying to get 50 yearlings out of a 30acre plot an then walk around clearing the Sh1t* off the grass
