Would be nice to have asked what's the minimum HP needed to run one of these balers... Totally enjoyed this interview and great to see the boss Gareth doing what we all enjoy seeing.... Plain ordinary questions about the features on this machine and how to use it.
I think the minimum hp requirement is 110 on the shaft. So 130 horsepower tractor. Often ran our fusion 2 on a 6430 premium John Deere. 138 horsepower max engine. Not ideal but it’s do able. Just need to use your head as an operator.

Come on Donkey, 5 turns on the screw hasn’t changed for over 20 years and you’ve only just figured it 😂. We had a new 4 Plus this season and I run it behind our 18 year old 716. The 716 was purchased in 2012 just for baling and I have done over 140,000 bales with it and love it! We chose the cam less pick up and I’m very impressed with it. I’ve baled a big variety of crops and can’t fault it. It’s a vast improvement over the old cam type. The crop intake on the 4 is way superior compared to the 3 especially when chopping ,it’s a very very good machine. It’s a shame you had an idiot rowing your grass up for the video. Swath preparation is vital for a good bale. Width and shape can make a massive difference to bale shape and density, your swathes were too narrow and no amount of weaving could make a square bale as unless they are extremely narrow you will always end up with more in the middle or one side. Very frustrating at times! My opinion about a non stop machine- very heavy and almost double the maintenance down the road. Initial expense and running costs and the requirement for a much bigger heavier tractor is a huge minus point. I think an option to use 2 rolls of standard 750 film instead of the NRF would be a bonus. Very pleased with our machine (although a bit expensive) thanks very much McHale for all the 7 Fusions we’ve had over the last 19 years. And they all just went into the field and worked out of the box as they say 👍🏻

The McHales Fusion is a class leading product, still best in market. But at €110-120k its very expensive now and we see alot of contractors winding up and out this year due to the price of Machines, maintenance and running costs.
The fusion is around along time now but can anyone tell me the name of the man who had the original idea , the man was a genius and should be acknowledged for it , no one has come up with a better concept in 20 years plus

Vermeer or case had something but these are too complicated with variable prechamber. You can have 2 balers side by side and ride other baler on row to let other wrap 😂

I bought a McHale this spring of 24 and absolutely Love it. It is a beast of a baler!! I am here in the USA.

McHale certainly think of things other manufacturers don’t think of, certainly designed by operators , good video Donkey

Donkey, The moment you mentioned the continuous round baler, the Fusion 4 became obsolete. Mchale bring it on....lets see it testing.
