Torn on these for the exact points you noted along with the price point. The rolling cart base is known for having the casters fail as well due to weight and the small wheels which aren't exactly ideal for job site transport. Being on smooth concrete such as a shop floor or a garage, something like the Harbor Freight service cart is better suited @ $500 and has more room for less $/cubic inches.

Thanks WorkshopAddict for the review of these new added additions. I actually have both of these on a Packout base rolling box with a small parts trays on top. I use my drawers for bigger hand tools and stuff. Great system when a normal tool box is too much.

I had a hard time getting over the price - but did. I love mine. They've been on several business trips / conventions and have made life easier.

they also added metal reinforcements at the bottom of the case to add more rigidity. Something the previous two packout drawers do not have. What does that mean? Well, if you stack something heavy on top of the drawers, the bottom part of the case will bow upwards kinda like having a crown on your 2x.

Did they update the entire line of drawers with that metal reinforcment? Or just these two newer ones?

Excellent for Us ModelRailroaders the 4 Drawer would be great for storing N Scale Locomotives or Rollinstock the 3 Drawer would be useful as well because you could put controllers & other parts & still have the 2 top smaller drawers for Engines & Rollinstock..
As for other uses they could hold allot small electronics parts for the modler..
Hope to get one as Soon as Home Depot has them for Sale...

Unless they upgraded the drawer slides i wouldnt trust Milwaukee weight rating. Multiple guys at my work have them and all of their boxes the drawers are rough and dont slide very good at all. Some worse then others. The one thing the toughsystem 2.0 has over the packout is the drawers are way smoother and sturdy and thats with more weight. Everything else packout has them beat though.

For a van build their fairly economical. When you look at other drawer and frame systems.

Hilarious how many comments toughbuilt has bought 😂
Imagine paying for good reviews versus time tested reviews.

Anyone know if the shallow drawers will fit m12 tools like the high speed ratchets and stubby in a foam?

They will not. They will fit in the equal sized 3 drawer that came out.

Yeah looks to be quite an ambitious 2024 for Toughbuilt. Something like 100+ StackTech products available to purchase by end of 2024

Ya we shall see about the Toughbuilt stuff. Initial impressions seem promising aside from the fact that you can't open any boxes with another box stacked on top😢. I do this all the time with my Dewalt Tough System stuff. But Toughbuilt does seem to have enough going for it over Dewalt that I might be tempted. The latching system if it proves durable/reliable is pretty nice. And if it offers the variety that Packout has at a less expensive price I might have to pick some up.

Stacktech is great for latching/unlatching boxes, but for drawers it kinda seems like a moot point and the best part about Packout is the lid cleat system to hang items in addition to stacking them.

@Omnis2 I guess the importance of stacking and unstacking depends on the kind of work you do. For me, in my profession of being on a different job site daily, stacking ease and transport is important. Even if I have drawer boxes I still have to unload and load my tools out of my vehicle. And to do that I have to stack and unstack my tool boxes for the job of the day.
