Well done with the video and explaining along the way👍. The inner L/H CV joint still looks to be on a severe angle at full lower travel. You would think that joint at that angle would fail under extreme load.
great video. Can you please confirm if the diff centre contacts the steering rack at all after being dropped? I have a kit at the moment where this is the case and i am looking to change it beacuse of that?
Thanks! Great question. Our does not contact the steering rack at all after being dropped, clearing both it and the cross member by about 10mm. We have seen other options on the market with claims for lower drops that do often result in vehicle components fouling.
Hi there! At this stage we can't confirm it's compatibility with the Factory Toyota sump guard, but it is unlikely. Our current N80 & Fortuner guards are going through a revision to be compatible, which we'll be adding soon. Our recently released N70 guards are compatible - just select the Diff Drop option. Hope that helps!
@@KAONaust It sure does thank you :) lucky I didn't buy any Underbody Guards as yet!!!.... looking forward to the revised Kaon ones and this Diff Drop Kit for my MY22 Fortuner!!! :)
At this stage, a used-gear program is not really the kind of thing we're able to support operationally, but it would be a fantastic thing to be able to do in future. That said, if you have the full kit, the Trans guard wouldn't need to be swapped out. We've currently got a front and sump set to suit this Diff Drop in progress. Our best suggestion with the front and sump would be to try selling it on.
Hey Lay, just a quick question. Why didn’t you guys over at KAON, engineer in the extra mounting point for the diff drop arm on the drivers side of the car, like they do with other brands like phat bars and psr etc? Is it just not needed? Or is the way the KAON ones are built higher in strength? Thanks
Hey David, great question. When designing the diff drop our philosophy was to retain as much of the Toyota design principles as possible, whilst still achieving the optimum drop required to correct CV angles. In our experience, the extra mount increases the potential for drivetrain vibrations by making one side in particular too rigid.
No such thing as too rigid, especially with the loads and torque in low range when loaded up. Have used these setups a lot with full front to back bracing and there superior results with no additional vibration.
It's in very early development, we're optimistic we will have something out in 2023 for the 150, along with all new light-weight underbody guards to suit.
Hi there! It's out of stock at the moment, but you can signed up to be notified when it's back in stock here: www.kaon.com.au/diff-drop-kit-to-suit-toyota-hilux-n80-arm-style
That's a complex question! But in a nutshell, it lowers your diff, which after installing a lift can often be necessary for IFS vehicles to ensure correction of CV angles.
Hi Brian, that's not correct! We ship all over the world. If you go to our website there is a shipping calculator that should output the shipping cost to your location. If you're finding it's not working, please reach out to our team at info@kaon.com.au and they'll be able to help you out.
Would love to see you guys bring an Arm style diff drop for the 200 series to the market! So much better than spacer style!
Very nice and much needed addition to the product line up team. It's on the list 👍🏻
4th/5th gen 4runner?
Do you have a distributor in South Africa? I want them for my revo
Any chance this kit work on US 5th Gen 4 Runners? if not any plans on making a kit for US 5th Gen4 Runners?
It doesn't. I reached out to them directly for 4runner's, tacomas, Gx's and they got back to me about it stating that it wont fit.
Will this work on 5th gen US 4runner ?
Is this kit compatible with a 2022 SR5 4Runner?
I think it would work since pretty much much is the same vehicle but im not sure. I was told their 2022 hilux kit wuld not work on a 2022 Tacoma

It's at that angle cause it's on the hoist, once the weight is down they should level up abit
Great work, nice to see!
Thanks Denis!
Good Work mate
Good luck on your next australian ninja warrior 😃
Do you make this kit for a US 2012 Toyota tundra crewmax?
Wondering if this would work on a U.S. model 5 th gen 4Runner ?
i agree i wonder
Yes
Can you put the factory bash plates back on with a diff drop?
Will you be making something like ths for the J120 Platform?
This is also a good time to change the diff oil
Awesome video
Great job. Does this fit other Toyota's like the FJC?
Afraid not, but we have other diff drops slated for development in 2023.
Waiting for the us spec Fj Cruiser to purchase
It would be nice of a kit was made for a 2003 Toyota Tundra SR5.
Hi Lay, should the car be hoisted or it can be done ehen the car is resting on the ground?
Will you be making these diff drop brackets for the hilux surf 3rd generation?
Is there any potential harm to the diff from doing this?

Looks so good :) Do both the Stock Toyota Underbody Protection and also the Kaon Underbody Protection fit with this Kaon Diff Drop Kit?

Will this work with the fj cruiser and 4th gen 4runner? Front diff is pretty much the same
3rd gen 4runner? 😊
I don't suppose there'll be some kind of exchange or discount program for those of us already with the N80 underbody protection kit.

Anything coming for the Prado 150?

Still working on these for the 150? You would sell these like hotcakes in the US for 4runners and Gx460s.@@KAONaust
Hello where can i find diff drop for Hilux Vigo?

Weird he put the grease on the new parts but he didn’t clean or put grease on the old bushings he reused

it isn't a truck I wish people would stop calling them trucks
