Not sure why you hate this so much. I specifically wanted a phone with a removable battery, and there weren't many choices for that in 2023. Some of us want or need that, and this offers it. I don't really care about bezels.

It's pretty obvious you are not the target market for this device and that's fine. I don't really understand the negativity of your overview given it's clearly not being made for you and your lifestyle. You can't imagine the use case and that is a different thing entirely to this being some sort of scam or gimmick.
I still have a regular need for a 3.5mm Jack for work and PA system hookups. I work outside coverage areas for at least 60% of any given work day in the drizzle, and often when I go camping too. This means that expandable storage up to 1TB on a modern device is a huge huge win for me. None of my content is streamed, it's all on my device: music, movies, podcasts etc etc all has to be offline so I need BIG expandable storage. I get wet regularly, but I have no intention of swimming with my device. There are multiple reviewers who have tested the waterproofing on this device and it can clearly survive being submerged, just like my S7 and S5 which shared the same design were able to if it happens accidentally.
The ability of the rear cover to pop off in a big drop is actually an asset. That energy is dissipated in the fall rather than being absorbed by the device and both the battery and rear cover can be replaced yourself for about 20 bucks. The additional buttons that can be bound to trigger the flashlight without unlocking the device and using a touchscreen is similarly something I cannot do without, having that ability without having to root and muck with my volume or power buttons is another huge plus.
The combination of the key feature differences here: 3.5mm jack, expandable storage, removable battery can be had or overcome with other manufacturers: Ulefone and other Chinese manufacturers offer a pretty polished product these days with stupidly large battery sizes, but the compromises made in form factor and camera quality are just too great to bear.
I bought the xcover pro in 2020 and it was entirely too underpowered to be useful to me for mapping and several other essential work functions. The massively underpowered chip would get hot and eat battery when asked to do these things. In all other aspects it was absolutely perfect for my use case, so all I needed was a spec boost to bring me back into the fold. Samsung delivered, and gave me a 120hz display to go with it! I've been carrying around an Ulefone Power Armor 13 for the last 12 months and it has been bloody amazing for its price, only having to charge the device once a week rocked. It literally pulls my pants down though, so going back to a removable battery and carrying a few spares in my backpack seems like a great idea to me. When it runs out, just chuck in a fresh battery and off I go again.
For me, to have these features in 2022 in a samsung device is beyond appreciated. I'm over the moon!
Your comments about the display breaking if you drop it on a pebble etc apply to every single phone in the world, including the most rugged of rugged phones with half a KG of protective bumpers. The victus glass on the xcover 6 pro with the slight lip is about the best you can do, but if you drop it straight on top of a single rock then it's still going to break just like every other phone on the market.
I will disable the 5G band on my device as it isn't available within 250km of my location so yeah, that's a gimmick for me at this point. Your comments about
My wife has been using the xcover pro for 12 months now and she has dropped that thing so many times. They're tougher than they look, much like the active lineup which I put through hell for years and they just keep kicking. I still have most of them, and they still get used by my kids etc. The thing I appreciate the most about this design is that when the battery capacity does start to fail (or swell!), you can just dispose of the battery and get a new one. I also appreciate NOT having optical image stabilisation as this has been a point of failure for me in the past when exposed to heavy vibration being strapped to my motorcycle. No OIS means it can't fail and leave me with a broken device.
In summary, yeah these are expensive for the specs, but for those that actually need these features the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Probably the only thing I don't like is the lack of wireless charging and the screen size increase.

I am the kind of person who prefers user replacable battery and plastic back over breakable glass. True this may not appeal to many but it indeed appeals to a few. It's unfortunate that Samsung charges premium for features that were once mainstream i.e. user replaceable battery, plastic covers etc. It's also quite sad that your unit came with broken seal but man you already hated the phone before reviewing it. You've quoted mrwhosetheboss severally and his discovery of bloating batteries, but isn't it better to have a battery that can be easily removed and replaced with new the minute it shows signs of bloating? Anyways we're all entitled to our views, thanks for the upload!

Shit, i wish they'd just bring back the multi layer plastic screen like the Motorola droid turbo 2 bad(scatter? Shield)
Removable battery, dual sim, phone jack sounds appealing to me
Just needs an IR blaster to be complete ha

Agreed. The replaceable batter is a major selling point, not a minor footnote. I'm tech savy enough to replace the battery in my phone myself when it goes bad, but the fact it requires minor surgery for modern phones in the first place is annoying. I deeply miss the days when I could just slap in a new charged battery whenever my phone's out of juice. I want a headphone jack, I want expandable memory. These features are becoming more and more rare, and it sucks. The Xcover6 looks like a step in the right direction, IMHO.

Perfect replacement to my Samsung Galaxy S5. My Samsung Galaxy S5 lasted over 8 years. I want the replaceable battery. It's still cheaper than the S5 when it first came out!

Hello I am currently 2014 model S5 Active Camoflauge color user. I have been using my phone for about 9 years almost but it gets old and old software wise. I wanna buy this. But are there huge difference ? I have by the way 16 Gb internal memory. I cant use instagram and other major apps no more.

    • @h2oquality2010
      @h2oquality2010 Рік тому

@@cenktoplar8378 I couldn't get the X Cover. It's only available to businesses and their employees. I called Verizon and asked. I ended up getting an unlocked Samsung Galaxy A53. No removable battery, but has a port for micro SD card that can hold 1 terabyte of data. Has enormous space for extra apps to run, much better dual speaker quality than S5 did. It's a bit bigger and way heavier. But this should last me another 8 years. Not too expensive either. I bought it Feb 1 this year and I think I paid $600 or around that. I'm not paying thousands for a phone, unless it will clean my house, and cook for me.

If you didn't like the phone or samsung galaxy xcover why the fuck did you even bother to review or post the video? There is people and trades out there that need and use rugged phones so why be so harsh with your comments about samsung phones.?

You complained about being able to pop off the back cover? It's fully conspiratorial that they even make devices that can't be turned off. Your POS Apple doesn't really turn off. The whole reason I'm looking at this device is because it has a removable battery.

Good evening! Could you please say from where you have purchased this particular Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro? Was it official Samsung site or from 3rd party seller on eBay/Amazon?
Is this a Dual SIM version (SIM1 + SIM2 + MicroSD)? Can you please say model code? Is this a SM-G736BZKDEEB?
Can Enterprise Edition be freely used with out any limitations for general consumer? This phone sells by Samsung in Enterprise Edition and general one what is the difference between them?
Thank you in advance for your reply!

I can understand your dislike for the phone. However, as a UA-camr, I don’t believe you’re supposed to let out obscenities and try to cover them up by explaining it away as a four letter word that’s understood. That is not acceptable, or very professional of you.

The back cover has a rubber gray rubber seal, so not void of seal like u say. It is a phone not made for underwater use but can handle usage in rainand maybe drop it in a puddle of water for a sec or 2. All phones with liquid crytal based display are not good. to have 120hz lcd display with it needs to be type TN witch had quickest pixels IPS was slower. Maybe there have been some improvement on the old old lcd tech front ? A good phone should last 5 years to 10 years. are u biased? I agree the price is stiff..

Jesus! It sounds as if you have some personal difference with samsung, like they fired you or sth! You didn't actually test anything, you just put on and off the back cover, complaining and insulting all the time.Ppl watch such videos looking for objective opinions, trying to decide what's best for them to buy.Instead you just waste our tiime making us listen the super biased opinion of sdy who hates the phone even before he opens the package.Sad

I agree. Anyone who thinks a phone with this sort of build quality is worth $600 has rocks in their head or has been brainwashed beyond being human. The back cover is garbage...'X-Cover' is the word. I brought a brand new Sonim XP8 for $160 instead, with industrial quality.

I think the main benefit of 5G is not so much the maximum bandwidth increase, but the switch to OFDMA, which is better at handling traffic from a lot of devices using the network at the same time.

Have you ever heard kf C-band lol
5G before Cband was pretty much just a 4g+
C band is the newest bands, theyre fast
Then theres MMwave /wide band 5g which is fast, but only in places like hospitals or venues...
Pretty sure this phone supports all 5g except for MMwave/wideband
