Wow, you're pretty negative about a phone that you can replace the battery of, comes with android 11 and is pretty cheap as well. Finally a durable phone and you are complaining about EVERYTHING.

Right?🤣 Like... I think it's important for people to do honest reviews, but this video seemed like it was more about throwing shade. And honestly, if the back coming off so easily is one of the worst aspects of the XCover 5, that's pretty impressive considering that can be solved by getting a case to protect the phone😏

yeah all design aspects breathe it's ability to take a hit and indeed those aren't fancy, but strong. Same with my Cat B26.

Indeed, is One of the few -the only?- with a modern version of android in 2022, decent ram, Memory, AND a removibile battery. If you want these things it is a must buy practically.

A cheap phone, that has a removable battery, WITH IP68???? No need to speak more. Forget the rugged design and gorilla glass 6. There's a market for this phone.

People don't buy this phone because they want the latest and best specs nor do they buy it because they want some premium feeling slippery piece of glass or metal, they buy this because it is a phone of practicality and durability, it has a user replaceable battery, it has the newest android version and it performs well in your everyday tasks. And a big plus for me: it doesn't have that stupid notch. I know there are cheaper durable phones but that price tag is not too bad when you take into account that it's from a reputable korean company.

The reviewer is irritable and let's his irritation show throughout the review. He shows his ignorance of rugged phones when he compares this one to a Xiaomi.. No Xiaomi has an IP rating and will not survive immersion in water. A replaceable battery is much more useful than a built-in one and changing the battery is faster and more convenient than recharging from a mains outlet or power bank. It is also a lot cheaper and environmentally friendly replace a battery than to replace a phone with a dud battery.
I have no connection with Samsung, but I won't be looking at this site again.

also, from my point of view, this looks like a great phone. i'm about to buy it just because of the removable battery, which is the biggest pro ever. i'm so tired of iphone's batteries turning into fucking baloons and literally cracking the screens of every device i purchase

The screen on this thing is also better and bigger. I need a phone i can replace the battery in/sd card etc and its only for calls / whatsapp and messenger. Idk why this guy is complaining so much but this was the most usseless review i have EVER seen

How can you not be a fan of a replaceable battery?? It's the main reason I have stuck with my old Nokia until now! At last, a phone company that has a talented designer working for them. Get the feeling the reviewer works for Apple LOL He sounds like a spoiled brat, saying it's a 'cheap' phone at €300, must have money to burn, and he tosses it around with such disrespect. His attitude overshadows any comments he makes, and he didn't even point out a legitimate weakness that there is no fingerprint unlock, just a facial rec, which won't work if wearing a mask!

A replaceable battery is what has allowed me to keep using my old Samsung Galaxy 551, that I bought ten years ago. It's also a small phone, so it doesn't get in my pocket while I'm on the job.

    This is a shit review.
The first half of the video is the phone running initial setup. Every devices does this. How are you angry at this and why did you include it in the video, it's pointless. The video could be half the length.
Furthermore, not all phones are about display real estate and camera capability. We don't all spend our days photographing ourselves drinking lattes and then scrolling through Instacrap. This phone offers quite reasonable features for the intended market.
The one criticism I would accept from you is the possibility of the removable back being a weak point when dropped. Which would be counter to the notion of this being a rugged phone.

Clearly they have completely missed the point of this device. It is not supposed to be an iPhone 18 competitor and even a child would understand that.

This phone has twice as many cellular bands as a typical phone in the $200 USD price range, a removable battery, and some models supports dual sim, . Those are the 3 top things I want in my phone that 99% of phones on the market don't have. I don't give a sh*t about cameras if you're going to use a camera get a REAL camera like a DSLR or a point and shoot and not screw around with phones that don't even have adjustable optical zooms or external flash. I think you missed all of the best features of this phone that all tourists/travelers would want in a phone.Nobody in their mind would buy a new phone every time they visit a different country. The only phones in the world I have found that can come close to beating this phone in cellular bands are $500+ and are prime targets for thieves or are made by OnePlus and dont have removable batteries. I am torm between buying it now or waiting for an xcover 6 model.

I bought this phone and this is the first properly designed smartphone I've ever had. There's no use for gadgets that break easily and it's stupid to have to buy cases that often don't work at all. This phone is amazingly resistant and does not require a chunky case that possibly wouldn't work well. It's small and light, works well and doesn't break. This phone is not worth a phone, it is worth all the phones you would break if you wouldn't be using it, and its slick like no other because you'll not need a case.

Number one did you put a SIM card in the phone yet if it can't connect to a cellular network it needs to connect to Wi-Fi because the phone was shipped with I believe Android software 10 and it's going to upgrade your Android system to 11 in order to do that it needs to be connected to a cellular network or a Wi-Fi network this is very common among Samsung phones

The other awesome thing about having a phone with a removable battery is that invertibly when your battery dies you don't have to send it off to the manufacturer or go to some cell phone repair place and pay outrageous prices to have the sealed battery changed you can merely go online purchase a replacement battery and install it yourself in all of 30 seconds oh the horror of having to install your own battery lol

So you have no clue about cell phones The reason the battery is removable is because it is a work phone it's designed to be rugged it's has military specifications and the reason the battery is removable is so that when you are out in the field and you're not able to charge the phone you can pop in a fully charged battery and keep using your phone I love removable batteries I hate that all new phones don't let you take out the battery it also means that your phone is always on even when you think you've turned your phone off if it has a battery inside it is still pinning the cell phone towers but with a removable battery you can completely disable your phone by removing the battery and you cannot be traced or tracked if you're going to do reviews why don't you do a little research first!!!!!!

Very few phones have a removable battery, headphone jack and a standard shape display, always thought the notch design was odd looking. Hi, Sorry that you came to a conclusion of a "Do not buy" during the OOBE process. But when you say there's no excuse for forcing you to connect to a network, that's not true, and you're kind of exposing yourself here. I worked for a mobile device company on the product security team and you absolutely want to force the customer to download the latest updates during OOBE, not only for the best intended UX but primarily for security. Hope this helps with your future content. Cheers

I feel for you. My wife's S5 battery is dying and all batteries are super old. Plus apps, even a general set of apps, are too hungry so they slow down the phone needlessly. She specifically wants a phone that isn't much bigger - so around 5.1 inch. There are barely any phones since 2019 that are within that range.
      So ridiculously sad.

"It feels like a trash phone from 5 years ago".......... Yeah, But in 5 years when an expensive phone's relegated to the back of a desk draw because it's battery is as good as dead after a 30 minute call, this will still be feeling like a TEN year old trash phone, that's on it's 2nd or 3rd replacement battery. :)
Different people have different priorities, and for me, a quick and easily replaceable battery is worth significantly more than any trio of 20+ megapixel cameras, or glass (fingerprint magnet) rear panels a "New design" phone may have.
Oh and you kept saying "Get a Xiaomi device instead", I'd just like to add that I did.
I needed my phone for work (I had to have local access to a hell of a lot of corporate IT configuration data, and "Can't access it on a remote server because I don't have a phone signal" wasn't an option), So a few years ago I bought a cheap Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 as a backup in case my main phone unexpectedly died. I set it all up and kept it turned off in it's box for about 2 1/2 years. Every couple of months I'd take it out, start it up, charge it back up, and let it update anything it needed to from my companies file server, then put it back in the box............. I did this right up until the time I pulled it out of the box to find the screen was cracked across the middle due to the battery swelling up like a balloon and pressing the middle of it up by about 1/4" !!!
Here's the kicker. If it had been a removable battery I'd have stored the battery out of the phone, and the phone would have been fine. If it had been a removable battery and I'd left it installed, it would most likely have popped the back cover off and saved the phones screen. If it had a removable battery, I wouldn't have had to make a choice between keeping a phone with a potentially dangerous failing Li-Po battery in the house, or having to make any company data on it unreadable before allowing it to be in an unsecure location.
In the end, that £200+ phones ONLY trip outside of my home was to take it down the garden, put it in the garden waste incinerator with some scrap wood, and burn it. So forgive me if I reply to your calls of "Get a Xiaomi device instead" with "F*ck that mate". :D

By the way the real reason manufacturers started ceiling the battery inside the phone case is that they don't want customers to replace their dead batteries and continue to use the phone they want to force you into buying a new phone every two years because that's about the average lifespan of a lithium-ion phone battery by the way Apple was the first to employ this method as a way of forcing their customers to buy new phones every two years One of the many reasons I will never use an Apple product they treat their customers like b******! So Apple was the first to start doing the sealed batteries and then Samsung and other manufacturers caught on to the fact that you can force people to buy a new whole new phone every two years instead of the customer merely purchasing a replacement battery to replace their dead battery so it has nothing to do with the customer it has everything to do with forcing you to buy new phones all the time

Umidigi Bison phones also "Require" you to have WiFi to set up the device. really pisses me off..... I don't have WiFi at the minute.... Not sure if the Bison GT did, but replacing it with the Bison Pro definitely needs WiFi....

Yes, most kids her age here has a Phone. This is a durabel solid one that can take the beatings and last a good while. She has 1.8km to bike to school, and she can contact us if needed. The criteria for getting one was that she had to be able to read, write and have sense of when to use the Phone and for what. She is doing fine with it.

anyone that knows if this phone can handle the pokemon go app together with the instagram app and letterboxd app and facebook app? This are the only 4 big apps that I would use..... or would this be too much for the processor already ?

All of those apps run decently on my 7 year old LG V20. It's saddening that you think any phone made in the past 5 years would NOT run those apps perfectly.
