CAUTION! Please be very careful around that downed tree. Here, they call them 'widow makers'. That's because as the tree dries, the branches it's resting on could snap and the main trunk can come crashing down unexpectedly. Don't be under it when it does ... or next to it ... because it could twist and fall sideways. I really really don't want you to get hurt!!! I love how your kitchen is coming along. So glad you decided to use the angled detail pieces. They add so much. Thanks for posting again and looking forward to the next one. Wheeee! counter tops!
I want to be young again, and strong and able bodied so that I might do something similar to what you are doing … and money to buy some land. But, I’m 76 and old in body if not in mind. Therefore, I’m enjoying your journey! Wishing you the best from Ohio, USA 💝👍🏼🙏🏼🤗
I am always amazed at how well your carpentry goes. Everything always fits so well no thumb bashing with your hammer and no foul language. It’s quite amazing and ever so peaceful. I love it.
Oh my goodness I absolutely love your mom she sure is precious makes me miss my mom ever more.... Your videos are calming and soothing I love watching each new one that you show us... You inspire me and I'm totally in awe of how fabulous you are sweet house is coming out you're a strong woman... God bless you and your mom look forward to watching more and more videos from you and stay safe
Hello and Good Afternoon to you Rosie. As usual you are so very busy. I have a suggestion for all the downed trees if you don't mind. Make a wood shed ( if you don't always have one). Cut and store this wood for firewood. Of course, it has to dry 1st. Make a huge mulch bin with the leaves and the smaller branches. Also, use smaller branches for kindling to start your fires. Pinecones are great for that as well. Another suggestion is that you use the fire ashes ( once cool) for fertilizer in your gardens and flowers. God always provides, you just have to be open minded to how to use what has been provided. Another way you can use those trees, if you have the resources, plain the wood and use as panels for your house repairs. As in... Walls, floors, cabinetry etc. Any who, just a thought. Take care. God bless. So thankful God laid these trees away from your house and buildings. A huge hello to your Mum. Hugs to both of you.
That’s wonderful having your mom there! You’ll have such precious memories of you two working together. She will be a great help and support. I’m sure she is thrilled to be there with you.
And all that wonderful fresh produce from the garden!

Tip: Old Swedish saying says that you shall sleep on the wood panel (keep it indoor) for one year before mounting them on the walls. Thus during winter in Sweden in becomes really dry and panels will shrink severely, so much you will start to see gaps between them if not doing so.
@ Right, I get the meaning, I've just never heard the expression. What I've been taught is that wood should be dried a year per inch of thickness. Rule of thumb (pun intended).
So happy for you that your mom has come to visit and help you with all your projects! You are such a hard worker and certainly deserve some help and company. Hi to your mom!
Always adore your style, your whole aura. Between your filmmaking, clothing, designs. It’ll be fun to see how much of it is from mom, or how potentially what she’s gotten from you!
I just started watching your channel and already have high respect for you. 😊 I saw some of your past logs and the amazing journey you are on..Your cottage is adorable and I'm sure you will get it finished 😊 Looking forward to watch your upcoming blogs 😊 Hope you have enjoyed your mother's visit ❤ Your talented at doing remodeling and using tools. 😊 Have considered getting a dog? ❤
Rosie, hanging a shelf above the window is an option to cover gaps ..but give you storage as well. I see lots of cottage photos like that. So beautiful.
I never thought you were alone...what about animals, spirit nature ancestors of the land and so on... yes your mum is with you now but in true we are never alone, beautiful progress you are making, thanks for sharing 💚
Enjoy your channel and videos very much! Was wonderful to see your Mother join you for the rest of summer. This made me smile, and also shed few tears. You see I recently lost my Mom. We use to spend time together doing everything from cooking, gardening and taking little weekends away to explore or shop at antique stores. My parents traveled in their twenty year old RV all over the United States, Canada and Mexico. Love your cabin too!! Take care, Nita
Rosie, lost my bet. I was thinking your surprise was a rabbit. Things are really taken shape -- looking good! Enjoy your mother's time. Believe me it's.important.
Aha! Your Mum. Wonderful. I get along great with my Mum too. Lovely for you to have good company and an extra pair of willing hands for a while. And your last question: ‘How exciting is that?’…’Very’ I say. Very nice job as usual, the detailing above the window turned out lovely in spite of the need for improvisations. Please find a way to add the little heart with the dollar sign in it next to the save button so I can show you how much I appreciate starting my week with your beautiful videos. Take care dear Rosie. PS. I noticed your little staple gun last week!
Thank you for all the effort you put into these videos, I think for a lot of us watching they become a source of peace and contentment in otherwise often tumultuous times or hectic days.
What a beautiful relaxing video, very absorbing, and "Oh it's already over" 😅, I could watch you gardening and renovating for hours ! No wonder your mum wished to stay there much longer !!! Great she's there, great for her because it's a place filled with good vibes, and good for you because her over-activity is helpful as well, but tell her to take time to relax 😉
It makes me happy you have a loving caring mom to join you for the rest of the summer. I love your videos and look forward to each and every one. It’s inspiring and creates hope. Sending you and your mom lots of love and hugs from Los Angeles California 💕😘🙂
Zo rustgevend, zalig.
Rosie, so happy to see your mother there again, and that she is a part off your dream, glad to see the bow saw, think the kitchen is coming along nicely, maybe think about making some inner frames for your windows before winter comes, will help keep the heat in (frames with plexiglas will not be too expensive- although not perfect they will help) good luck with the countertops!
Rosie that trim in the kitchen makes ALL the difference. It looks really finished now. And to think you were dreading it. It looks cozier every time I watch your channel.
So great to have your mom working with you! The only thing my mom liked about the tarpaper house I bought on 5 acres in northern Minnesota was the kitchen window white cafe curtains with the embroidered daisies which I still use. I'm amazed at what you tackle by yourself, you've inspired me!
Email 2. Hope your mom got to keep the car there with you all (not dropped off). Great time to run errands and prepare for the winter while you have transpertation. Yay MOM
I've learned that trees store a lot of energy. Do you know that when they know they're dying they send out micro nutrients (for lack of the proper term coming to mind) to surrounding trees? Your tree was perfectly healthy. I see the leaves are still alive even though it's been down for a while. The leaves usually shrivel up and die in just a few days. I once kept a glorious 40' Mulberry alive for another 15 years by cutting off all its branches, cutting the trunk back to about 10', and standing it back up. It sprouted new branches... very real, thick branches. It truly flourished, eventually done in by lightening. I'm not sure that works for all kinds of trees. I just knew I, and many birds and creatures valued that tree, so I sort of stubbornly, and against the advice of *everyone,* just gave it a try. Of course there are many good uses for a felled tree!
Did the trunk you placed back in the ground have any branches left? Seems to me it'd take more energy form the tree to regrow those. Genuine question, I'm very much interested and don't know much about trees!
How exciting is that? Very Very exciting! Good to see your mum with you! She looks to be about my age but much stronger! Lol! Sending lots of love! Enjoy your time together! ❤️
What a huge job clearing up after a storm .You will however gain a nice amount of fire wood ,as well of course as a great deal of work in cutting, and stacking it for the fireplace. Then there’s the aesthetic of the picturesque wood pile giving off the sense of winter warmth and cozy preparedness.Ah,that old yin Yang of life .😏
I never want your videos to end but how selfish of me. haha. So glad your mom is visiting and assisting you around the house. She has such good energy. See you next week!
Rosie I wish I had half the energy your Mom has. My Mom was the same way. It's so nice that she has come to spend the rest of the summer with you. I would give my eye teeth to have my Mom come and stay with me. Sadly she left this earth awhile ago. ❤ Enjoy.
I discovered this channel a few days ago and am enjoying watching what you are doing (and taking notes) as my husband and I are homesteading and do all of our own work, with both hand tools or battery-operated electric tools (we are completely off-grid and using solar). (A bit of an undertaking for two 70-year olds!) The wood paneling in your kitchen is reminiscent of my first childhood home. The entire of the kitchen and living room were paneled with knotty pine. The floors were oak, and everything my father treated with some sort of paste, rubbed in by hand. That was how we maintained our wood. Never polyurethane! (which I am not sure was even around in the early 1950s, or else my father opted for all-natural).
I’m kind of watching the videos out of order but really enjoying them. Glad your Mum came to see you,do they worry about you. Silly question all parents worry about their children, but I bet they are so proud of you ❤

Love you guys ❤️❤️

No mistakes - just happy accidents which add character. It is beautiful!

Any who, just a thought. Take care. God bless. So thankful God laid these trees away from your house and buildings. A huge hello to your Mum. Hugs to both of you.
As well as God providing wood, Ha has provided water. Do you have water collection system set up? Great resources for your gardens and flowers.
So happy Rosie is not alone to enjoy the last of the summer wine.
Having your mom around is such a blessing ❤️
Well that looks funny how you are atacking that big tree with that mini saw!!!
That’s wonderful having your mom there! You’ll have such precious memories of you two working together. She will be a great help and support. I’m sure she is thrilled to be there with you.
Maybe she needs some more trenches dug lol! Her Mama is a worker for sure.
And all that wonderful fresh produce from the garden!

What? Sleeping on the wood? Sova på träet?
That makes no sense at all, and I've never heard it!
Do you mean let the wood rest?
Lengthwise, lock and groove horizontal, that's what floorboards are for, 1x6
Vad menar du med att sova på trät?
@@matshjalmarsson3008 It's a fork of another saying, "sova på saken".
@ Right, I get the meaning, I've just never heard the expression.
What I've been taught is that wood should be dried a year per inch of thickness.

I agree having thought the same thing. Plus the shelf can be used decoratively or functionally! It works!! 💕
Yes she could have some hanging plants on it, or nice mugs..
great idea. can be decorative too with interesting containers. My birth name is Lynn Mitchell
It’s looking really good!
Welcome mum enjoy your summer
What a beautiful thing to have your mother visiting again.
Lovely your mum there bet she was really proud of all you have done since her last visit :)
I never thought you were alone...what about animals, spirit nature ancestors of the land and so on... yes your mum is with you now but in true we are never alone, beautiful progress you are making, thanks for sharing 💚
It's nice to have family and someone of your own species sometimes.

🥹I’m glad you have such beautiful memories.
Great work. The place is looking grand. If I could make a suggestion. Get someone or yourself. To buck up that birch tree that fell into firewood.
I put a shelf above my window frame, it also holds a curtain pole and a roller blind......as well as hiding a gap. As long as you can live with it.
Awesome!! Love it!! Also love it that your Mom enjoys being there as well! That’s really neat for the both of you.
Hello rose
How are you doing rose ?
Wat ontzettend leuk dat je moeder er is! Jullie zijn twee stoere vrouwen! Ik wens jullie een fijne tijd samen! Veel liefs!!!!!
Love the kitchen window. How nice for your Mom to join you , power to all the ladies that can do things in their own . 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Same from Northern California ❤️
Just make a shelf over the window with hangers for curtains built inside it. Looks nice. 👌
Nevermind. It turned out nice anyway. 😅👌
How splendid another garden 🪴 bed sweet the tree 🌳 didn’t fall for nothing for everything there is a reason and a season xoxo

Great video as always. The white currants randomly growing on the property is a plus.

Yes I was thinking that in Swedish winters all the windows should be double paned!
Du skapar ditt eget paradis och vilken lyx och skörda sina egna grönsaker. 👍🏻🙋🏼♀️
You are a brave girl Rose doing this all on your own. I'm so happy to see your mom with you again. Have a lovely visit with her.
Your “bit of detailing” is very extensive! I love it!
I Love that your mother is with you. These are memories you will cherish.
My favorite part these days is when you harvest vegetables and berries from your garden, so lovely
Great video, Felix from Switzerland 🇨🇭😀
Thank you, Rosie. I think your new toilet is lovely. It is like a warm forest hug!
Rosie that trim in the kitchen makes ALL the difference. It looks really finished now. And to think you were dreading it. It looks cozier every time I watch your channel.

Hi Rosie great new video, the weather seems really good in Sweden.
This video of your progress made my Afternoon hard work brings so much bounty
You and your mom, make a great team.🎈🦋
Your doing a fab-u-lous job! I can’t wait to see the countertops installed making your kitchen more functional as gratifying 💕
Do you see or feel any change in your budget since you now have the garden? I always look forward on your videos. Fighting!
You are doing a great job! Save your money for a 16 gauge Brad nailer next, it’s like having an extra hand when nailing
Rosie, please be careful about ticks and Lyme disease.
Again so relaxing with a new video 💐
Wish I could have found someone like you 40 years ago. Would have saved me lots of headaches. Keep up the good work.

Nice detail/ the dowel pins securing the angled trim piece* Well Done Rosie!
If you ever do a Q&A, I'd like to know how you learned carpentry. It seems so natural to you. I'd like to become more self-reliant. Beautiful video and music. Thank you.
She’s self taught with the help of a lot of UA-cam videos :-)
@@joeb4142 Thanks, Joe.
Hi 🌹. How nice that you have company. Thanks for another great video. Take care of both of you. Greetings Birgitta.☕🍩

I LOVE the kitchen !!!! And my favorite tool , the chopsaw is back . I'm obsessed with seeing it because I gave mine to my son so he could make a living and also remodel his house but now the Mom has no chopsaw ! Oh well , love that your Mom came up and just love the videos , happy Sunday
Oh no got to get your chop saw back girl! 🥰
Hey mum :) welcome back ✨✨✨
Please use safety goggles when cutting and sanding wood. Better safe than sorry. The design from what I have seen so far is really nice. 😊
