    Q- Do all liquids conduct electricity?
    Ans- No, not all liquids conduct electricity. Only liquids that contain ions conduct electricity.
    Examples of liquids that conduct electricity include salt water, lemon juice, and vinegar.
    Examples of liquids that do not conduct electricity include pure water, oil, and alcohol.

    Sir, water has two types
    First one is ionised water, containing ions, salts, which is a good conductor of electricity
    And the another one is distilled water, de-mineralised water which is a bad conductor of electricity.
    As of liquids conduct electricity with the help of ions...

    Current can flow in salt water so if we put the wire (which come in our home )
    So if we put the wire In the sea so the current will flow or not like I went to goa and I put the wire in the sea so in the whole sea the current will flow? sir plz solve my query.

    But I was having a doubt regarding electroplating- As tin is electroplated on iron to make cans for containg food because iron could react with the moisture and food.
    But why cant we use tin for making cans directly???

    • @nithyadharmala9493
      @nithyadharmala9493 Рік тому +2

      we do have tin cans.....

    • @atypicalheyaa
      @atypicalheyaa 11 місяців тому +3

      Tin is actually used directly for making cans! When we talk about tin cans, they're often actually made primarily of steel (which is an alloy of iron and carbon) and are coated with a thin layer of tin through a process called electroplating. The reason for this is that tin alone isn't as strong or durable as steel. By electroplating steel with a layer of tin, you get the best of both worlds: the strength of steel and the corrosion-resistant properties of tin.
      If you were to use pure tin for making cans without a steel base, the cans might not be as sturdy or capable of holding the contents securely. They could be easily dented or deformed, potentially risking contamination of the food inside.
      So, the combination of steel's strength with a protective layer of tin helps ensure the cans are durable, protective against corrosion, and suitable for storing food for extended periods without any risk of interaction between the container and its contents.

    • @gouridevi5636
      @gouridevi5636 11 місяців тому +1

      Tin is also used to make cans but here the point is about iron cans which can't be use directly to store food because iron is highly reactive so it is electroplated by tin😊😊😊😊

    sir how would we get to know whether a substance added to the solution will make water conductive or not? means how would we know that in which ions it will dissociate and whether the ions are suitable or not? and also how is organic compound related to conductivity

    • @satishchandra3128
      @satishchandra3128 Рік тому

      U can test for ions I guess

    • @atypicalheyaa
      @atypicalheyaa 11 місяців тому +1

      Determining whether a substance will make water conductive involves understanding its ability to dissociate into ions when dissolved in water. Here are some considerations:
      Ionic Compounds: Substances that readily dissociate into ions when dissolved in water tend to increase its conductivity. For instance, salts like sodium chloride (NaCl) dissociate into sodium (Na+) and chloride (Cl-) ions, which can conduct electricity in water. You can predict this behavior based on the compound's chemical formula and its known properties as an ionic substance.
      Ionization: Some molecular compounds can ionize in water, producing ions and enhancing conductivity. Strong acids (like hydrochloric acid, HCl) and strong bases (like sodium hydroxide, NaOH) dissociate almost completely into ions in water, significantly increasing conductivity.
      Ion Strength: The strength of the ions produced is also crucial. Highly charged ions or ions with greater mobility tend to enhance conductivity more effectively.
      Organic Compounds: Most organic compounds, such as sugars, alcohols, and oils, are non-ionic and typically do not increase water conductivity significantly. These substances do not dissociate into ions when dissolved in water.
      However, there are exceptions. Some organic compounds, especially certain acids, bases, or salts derived from organic molecules, can enhance water conductivity if they ionize significantly when dissolved. For instance, certain organic acids (like acetic acid, found in vinegar) or organic salts (like sodium acetate) can partially dissociate into ions, contributing to increased conductivity.

    • @RajeshKumar-d9i2o
      @RajeshKumar-d9i2o Рік тому

      no because tin is less reactive than iron thats why we use tin cans and not iron to store food

    • @atypicalheyaa
      @atypicalheyaa 11 місяців тому

      Food can indeed spoil due to iron, particularly in certain circumstances. When iron comes into direct contact with food, especially acidic foods, it can cause a reaction that affects the taste and quality of the food. This reaction can sometimes result in discoloration or an off-flavor.

    Fabolous teacher ❤❤, I have watched first time and I really don't have words to describe your teaching. I can't understand anything from channels I found on UA-cam but after seeing your video my whole chapter is crystal clear.
    I can't understand byju 's previously but now I would watch all your videos while preparing for my exams . Thanks a lot . Avery helpful video.
