@@joeprosho It's a long story! Basically, the notion of "fake it till you make it" encouraged me to overcome innate nervousness and lack of self-confidence by pretending to be supremely confident about myself. This led to people reacting to me in a completely different way, and the emergence of a "better me" - more confident, and less prepared to be trampled on. It's more complex and nuanced than that, but that's the guts of it. I watched Mr Geikie being forced to undergo this sort of transformation in the show, and did my best to emulate it under my own steam, and it worked wonders.
Thanks for this. Great series. This was my favourite episode of Faking It. Cute posh gay country boy turns into fit skinhead bit of rough. And best bit about this upload was the inclusion of the ads. So nostalgic. This was late 2000 when I was 20. Great times. Life got crap after the 2000s.
💯- however most companies are not confident enough to say they could tell real from phoney! I would particularly enjoy seeing someone faking being trained as a trader, private equity investor etc.
Watched this when it first aired. Never really forgot about it and so cool to see it again.
Same.
Thanks for posting this. This show changed the whole course of my life. It was nice to watch it again, 20 years on.
Why did it change your life out of interest?

Just been reading about Alex in a psychology book, so was really glad this was available on UA-cam.
Great job Alex!
Ironically he'd look completely at home in Hackney dressed like that now.
Love this show!
