- Which rubberized spray is better? In this video, I compare Flex Seal, Rustoleum, Tom, Dick, and Harry's, and Dollar General Sprays. Check out my bonus video where I layer two of the products and test them.

why on earth would you test this with such porous materials? You say you are using it according to the manufacturers instructions but I am not aware of any manufacturer that would claim it is suitable for use on terry towelling or paper towel!
As an alternative - and in my opinion much more sensible and realistic test - just test it with a hole in a tin can.
I agree with you. This stuff is designed to seal a leak, not waterproof a flexible, porous and absorbing material. One hole in a can wouldn't do it for my liking as well though. Perhaps a seal a colander with it.
That’s exactly why he used Terry cloth ya whipper snapper
Flex seal painted a screen door in the bottom of a boat. Sit down.
Great video & Great job !!!! Thank you for your time very helpful 👍👍👍
great video very thorough and truthful
Thank you for that insightful video educating those like myself on ensuring we buy the right product and saving money as well. Question: Of all the items one could use to test a sealant, why use terry cloth and 10-14 layers to prove which product works best? Maybe I’m not educated enough in the use of terry cloth but welcome your feedback, etc. Thank you and again great tutorial.
The testing on fabric was very informative, I suggest doing same tests with the clear/transparent variants.
Same here...because my goal is to preserve some tan colored running shoes...and use black product to do likewise on a synthetic fiber jacket...and hopefully not lose too much hand/flexibility on either...(rough weather ahead, and fabric-store stuff disappoints)...thanks for sharing!
thanks for the info and time
un usual but great ! idea with using paper towel and cloth
hey i got a question .!! i have a small water pump leak ... its new water pump new gasket new everything but i still have a very small leak like .. a drop , would any of these product maybe help??? and the water pump get a little hot not sure how hot , so let me know what you think
Please which one is the best to use. Our roof is leaking. We want to buy.
Would you recommend any product to be used in the attic to seal up gaps and around pipes. Can't use foaming products!! Thanks in advance for your recommendation!!
That's a challenge I may have to take on. No foam attic gap sealing.... hmmm
Do the manufacturers all claim their products are suitable for this application?
When you lie on the resume and get the job
I think your testing methods are wrong. the water has the opportunity to go around the treated paper/cloth and proceed to the bottom nearly unimpeded. Also are these products UV resistant and how long will they last being exposed to the environment. Good effort on the video though..
opened my eyes. I need to know what to use on a bird bath ?
Hi April, I’m in the process of sealing multiple leaks in my mom’s 3-tier fountain/birdbath. See loves her fountain so I’ll do all that I can to closed up those leaks. Even though I had my eyes set on another product, a Home Depot employee strongly recommended the Flex Seal so I decided to give it a try. I sprayed the first coat 2 days ago and going to see if the leaks are either sealed or at least at the point where I need to reapply another coat. If you want I’ll keep you posted.
April Waller Hi April! Thank you for liking my comment. Have you used the Flex Seal yet? If so, did it work to your satisfaction? My mom’s birdbath is still working as it should. Hope your repair was successful.
That depends... is your bird bath made from terry cloth? Ha ha.
I liked and subbed for the Amazon giveway
Thank you, My LIfe. I hope you enjoyed the video!
Your first test would never work vc after drying you put the cloth in the strainer, so it brakes apart the fibers. I either let them dry inside the strainer or try something elese
synthetic to conventional oil
Of course everyone knows flex seal is the best
It could be for your application, it is certainly the most expensive. I'm working on a bonus episode now to see if layering two products together will produce better results. Stay tuned for that and thank you for your comment, Edwin!
@@WhichisBetter1 wow, i meant that as a joke but i didnt expect this. Im glad you noticed me, thanks! I subscribed too.

For me in Canada I can get the flex seal free shipping, its half the cost of the rustoleum and other brands like the 3M stuff. I looked at bedlinner but it's twice the cost as rubberized under coat also.
