Flex Seal Review - Will It Leak?

- If you've been anywhere near a TV over the past couple of years, then the Flex Seal name should be familiar. We're not typically up for infomercial product reviews, so this is not our bag. However, someone recently asked if I could TIG weld a leaky metal bowl, and I welcomed the small repair. Once in the shop, we realized the thin tin bowl was not a candidate for any welder. Then, I remembered the can of Flex Seal that my kids bought me for Father's Day, so why not give it a shot.
First, each aerosol can of this stuff costs about $13 in one of the box stores. There are tons of horror stories when purchasing online, so you probably want to steer clear of this. Most say they were charged double and a shipping/handling fee.
He made you think it didn't really work in the beginning. What a relief for me.
What you've essentially made is a bowl, Phil.
You have no idea how much I appreciate this
Very true, very true.
Any sealer would have worked here. The question is, how well does it hold up in various situations. Will it crack and get brittle over time? How does the sun and ozone affect it? How well will it seal if the crack flexes or expands and contracts. How well does it stick to various materials?
LOL! I know right? Even a kids Elmers all purpose glue would have done the job here. :)
👍
Worked for me on a cracked swimming pool skimmer housing.
That's awesome. Would love to see that. Thanks for watching and for commenting.
How dare you question the great Phil Swift!
Lmao. I’m gonna do everything the product says not to do and then review how it works. I put the car in park and I put my foot on the gas and it didn’t go! This car is terrible. Don’t buy it. 🙄
😂 just what I was thinking
2:57 * pouring intensifies *
how safe would it be to eat from that bowl now
sprayed my gutter connections 2 months ago and today I went out and they were leaking again...sprayed them 2xs, waited between coats and it was warmish out...so i am not too happy with this product. I reallly thought it would work, seemed logical and I really did a good job spraying the connections...oh well
I feel like tape would have worked a bit better.
Thank you, you were very helpful
Glad it helped
I used flex seal on my basement wall crack and a leaky pipe it worked for about 3 days then dried out and cracked don’t waste your money
I think it really depends on the project in which it's used. I don't think it should ever be used for a permanent fix for one, and two, I don't think it's the answer for anything that's pressurized.
Thank you very much
You are welcome. Thanks for watching.
I saw that it says you can apply wet or dry surfaces
I like your videos
Keep doing what u do sir
👍
Is the clear dry clear?
Yes, it dries clear.
U didn't let it dry all the way bro
Doesn't matter. Still worked
But can you eat out of that bowl?
Is that all your kids bought you for fathers day ? a can of flex seal ?
glad I don't have kids !!!
I know...sad. That's ok, I have my Flex Seal. I can build me a glass boat. :)
Hey flex seal is $15
OMG IT WORKS EVEN IF U DIDNT FOLLOW THE MANUAL :O
Can you repair leaks in a pool with flex seal?
yep
Its works on any leaks but not on pressurized leaky pipes
is this really supposed to be a review or a funny?
👍
you could have use a hand bar of soap to do the job
If you don't do it according to manufacturing directions it probably won't work.
Good point. Thanks for watching.
Good
Thanks
Hello, I bought a pressure cooker from a used equipment market. It is from the brand of flex_seal. The safety valve was broken because of the strong pressure. Bean. It is a type of Stainless Steel Stabilizer. I was unable to find the safety button for the tire or rubber foot. Can I replace with another type?
HUH
everyone worry about there oil leak!
I really believe that flex seal is legit.
Hoax
I thought it would be, but it's actually not. Works pretty well. Now, at the same time, I don't think it's a permanent fix. Just temporary.
Sorry, but I downvoted because you didn't wait long enough. All you had to do to be fair was wait.
👍
Try too hard alot
Total rip-off product ., check out all the reviews google , etc ., 👎 just shows with enough info- mercials ., u can sell a 3 legged dead cat to anyone… especially flex paste …
It's not terrible. It does work, but it just doesn't work as easily and as quick as they act like it does. Lol, I like your "3-legged dead cat" description. Thanks for watching.

Oh thanks .. I many years in home/apt repairs… plumbing/drywall/painting/electrical working for licensed contractors … for years now retired. Guess I miss billy Maes to be honest., think bill swift has infomercialed himself into a self made millionaire that is to his credit ., can he flex paste mike lindell ( pillow case ) mouth shut ..,,??? If so I will buy u an overpriced gallon and send it to u … shipping fees on me 👍..
junk
DarkFox6211818 I wouldn't call it junk, but it is overpriced sealant. Silicone would probably work better. Really depends on the material and application.
I mean this video COULD have been literally 5 seconds.
Geez this guy is out of breath just pouring water out of a jug🥴
To many odd things with this test. At the very least put a dry towel under the bowl so it can show any leaks. And the not waiting to dry. Ugh. Can I get my time wasted watching this back?!
Sorry that we disappointed you. Maybe we can make it up in another video. Thanks for watching.
