Yes. Almost died in the ER and hadn't scapular. They took off my shirt and the nurse just looked at my scapular but left it on me. As I declined cause I felt if die or fall in a coma. I prayed the divine mercy but badly cause I sped it up and skipped alot cause I felt time was running out. I asked forgiveness and I'm still here. People must know of the love and mercy of Jesus. I believe Marys scapular saved me too. Jesus Mary I love you

We were all then immediately and properly enrolled by the priest who gave us the scapulars. No money changed hands. It was all freely given. I don't know if Fr. Joseph had to buy the scapulars he gave us. I didn't think to ask. But as I think if it now, someone has to make them from fabric and materials that cost something and they had to he made somewhere by someone who took the time to make them. So I can see how a modest price would be possible, but we were at the Legion of Mary meeting at the time and money was never even mentioned! I wish I would have thought about it. I could have offered a donation to make sure he could obtain more scapulars for others. I pray that you obtain peace ✌️
We enrolled in the brown scapular on the Feast of Mount Carmel 7/16/21. The Scapular is Sacramental and it brings me such peace and feel closer to God wearing it. Believe it or not, I have prayed to Jesus through the intercession of Our Lady for comfort/relief from excruciating pain and oh my has Mama Mary and Jesus answered my prayers so don't ever give up. I was enrolled in the Brown Scapular on Sept.8, 1062 on a Carmelita house and by the Prior/novice master. And I was taught that every time you held ypur Scapular you were touching in realityptjer Mary's.
I have two Brown Scapulars. I misplaced the one I wear most often. Last evening, I was encouraging my adult child to begin to wear the Scapular after watching this wonderful UA-cam. I then went downstairs and there was my missing scapular that was lost for two days. Yay!
I didn't connect it but the same happened to me after having smoked for 40 years. I thought it was because Fr. Corapi , who invested me in the scapular, had said it was a sin knowing that smoking could kill me, I had confessed it with a firm resolve to quit. and have never smoked since that day.(18 years ago) Our Lady and her brown scapular may also have been a factor in why my resolve never waivered.
After I wear it, I have receiving lots of grace. (Especially, I tried to avoid small sins. And It makes me to go to the confession immediately if I sinned.) Thanks for this explanation.

In the Old Testament, Leviticus 11:44, “For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy” Then in the New Testament, it is repeated again. 1 Peter 1:16, “because it is written, You shall be holy for I am holy.” The word “holiness” in the New Testament means to be set apart, sanctified, consecrated. It is associated with God’s perfection. The only way we can attain this perfection is through salvation in Jesus Christ, not Mary. Jesus died for our sins, not Mary. He exchanged His life for mine. You are mistaken. That is not the promise. That is how the promise is often fulfilled. The Church for one thing teaches that perfect contrition can gain absolution directly, although would still be required to go to confession if possible. The promise is that the person wearing the scapular will not go to perdition. This does mean one of two things. If the person has a true devotion, Mary will find away to gain the graces necessary for the person's final perseverance. Or if there is a false devotion (an attempt to fool God), divine providence will find a way to remove the scapular from the wearers neck. There is no reason to add or take away from Mary's promise. Martyrdom is also a way for someone to gain heaven without confession.

I think because many well intentioned priest either heard from other priest and are simply repeating what they heard, or assume they are correct...no worries though simply check with any Carmelite male monastery and enquire if they have a priest who can enroll u, or perhaps they changed it ,after all my story took place 31 years ago...

I bought two and still need it blessed. I'm fairly new at my church and and don't know the priests very well so I'm somewhat shy. After mass there are always people around the priests. I didn't realize that the blessings of the scapular was so long. I keep hoping the right time comes up.

They make what is called a five fold scapular. As the name implies it has five different scapulars together. They are all made from wool. This is what me and my family wear.
I have been wearing it devotedly for 6 years and felt safe & sound. I feel protected and blessed. It enhances my unceasing prayerful life after my stroke in 2010.

Growing up when I was a kid my childhood was really rough my father passed away when I was 9 years old. All I did was fight and getting in trouble I was going down the wrong path. But my polish mother never gave up on me she is the one who gave me the brown scapular it changed my life.
Does the brown scapular automatically get you to heaven? If you die in it, you may spend time in purgatory before heaven, but yes, it means you will go to heaven....because Our Lady keeps her promises.
Our Lord gives us many ways to increase our holiness and devotion to Him. All we need do is trust in Him, seek out devotions that "speak to us" and practice them. With Mary, the Great Intercessor and our Mother, at our side always, we will surely reach the gates of heaven.

In the end isn't the practice of wearing one a reminder of one's dedication? It is something that brings one's awareness back to the "good side" especially when temptation calls. People wear religious medals around their necks for the same reason.

I have sewn a small miraculous medal on to the scapular that I wear most of the time. When I wash it. I temporarily wear another scapular without a medal until it is dry.
Jesus say don't be afraid, our lives are a struggle but knowing Christ and Holy Mary protects us. I pray the rosary when scared, frightened, happy, sad anxious. Anxiety is hard so I pray the rosary when I am having this. It really helps!

Back in my university days at ATBU Bauchi Nigeria the date of my consecration was going to be March 25 of that year and yet the school had pasted the the exams timetable to start on thesame day which I communicated to my instructors, with careless attitude they told me that the day has not come yet so until that day and behold as the day drew close the school suddenly postponed the exams. 2.One of the girls that was consecrated went home at the end of the semester and when she came back she told me that a woman had approached her in the village asking her where she bought the " thing " I.e Scapular, that it emits light at night personally I have never seen this light even though am wearing it.....just wanted to share the story.

The placebo effect is real.
It wasn't until recently that I heard about being enrolled to wear the brown scapular. We just wore it, not knowing about enrollment. Why doesn't the church teach about this enrollment anymore?
Same reason it doesn't teach most things. We're in really dark times.
I went to my Priest to enroll, and he was unfamiliar with it!! He told me just to say a few Hail Mary's and wear it.
I think because many well intentioned priest either heard from other priest and are simply repeating what they heard, or assume they are correct...no worries though simply check with any Carmelite male monastery and enquire if they have a priest who can enroll u, or perhaps they changed it ,after all my story took place 31 years ago...

I bought two and still need it blessed. I'm fairly new at my church and and don't know the priests very well so I'm somewhat shy. After mass there are always people around the priests. I didn't realize that the blessings of the scapular was so long. I keep hoping the right time comes up.

They make what is called a five fold scapular. As the name implies it has five different scapulars together. They are all made from wool.
This is what me and my family wear.
I wear the green scapular. One should not be scrupulous about which one to wear. Select one and be faithful to it. It’s about grace.

I wear the scapular inside my shirt. My father gave it to me. He didn’t say anything about enrolling in the Carmelite order or having it blessed. We are having a priest friend of ours come over I guess I could ask him to bless Our scapulars
Wearer... almost 4 years now... I regret not wearing it for many multiples of four years. I gave one to my methodist mother in law, when it looked like she was finished... Her heart stopped five times, but she's still here. She call the brown scapular, 'her comfort'... because scapular is too hard to remember.

I'm so upset my late grandmother gave me a scapular and I used to wear then I was mocked for wearing it and I'm praying to St. Anthony that it's buried in my room in my mom's house and not thrown out.
Growing up when I was a kid my childhood was really rough my father passed away when I was 9 years old.
All I did was fight and getting in trouble I was going down the wrong path.
But my polish mother never gave up on me she is the one who gave me the brown scapular it changed my life.

Does the brown scapular automatically get you to heaven? If you die in it, you may spend time in purgatory before heaven, but yes, it means you will go to heaven....because Our Lady keeps her promises.
Yes, purgatory time may be needed.
Our Lord gives us many ways to increase our holiness and devotion to Him. All we need do is trust in Him, seek out devotions that "speak to us" and practice them. With Mary, the Great Intercessor and our Mother, at our side always, we will surely reach the gates of heaven.

In the end isn't the practice of wearing one a reminder of one's dedication? It is something that brings one's awareness back to the "good side" especially when temptation calls.
People wear religious medals around their necks for the same reason.

I gave out to dying patients the brown scapular. ;I was blessed to be of service to our Lord. I am gravely ill and I' would like to of service in any way I can. I will wait for your response.
I wear two. The brown scapular and / or the Miraculous medal. Both blessed. My sinful soul is truly afraid .
Have fear of the Lord, which is a pious thing, but Jesus tells us “Do not be afraid!” We are all sinners, big or small, but no small sinner will go to Heaven without purification. Don’t be afraid and trust in God’s Mercy!
I have sewn a small miraculous medal on to the scapular that I wear most of the time. When I wash it. I temporarily wear another scapular without a medal until it is dry.
Jesus say don't be afraid, our lives are a struggle but knowing Christ and Holy Mary protects us. I pray the rosary when scared, frightened, happy, sad anxious. Anxiety is hard so I pray the rosary when I am having this. It really helps!
I believe this post. I was drawn to go to my Church to ask for several and then I gave them away to my co workers. Why. I didn’t know but listening to this I now understand. Some of them were Catholic some not

Back in my university days at ATBU Bauchi Nigeria the date of my consecration was going to be March 25 of that year and yet the school had pasted the the exams timetable to start on thesame day which I communicated to my instructors, with careless attitude they told me that the day has not come yet so until that day and behold as the day drew close the school suddenly postponed the exams.
2.One of the girls that was consecrated went home at the end of the semester and when she came back she told me that a woman had approached her in the village asking her where she bought the " thing " I.e Scapular, that it emits light at night personally I have never seen this light even though am wearing it.....just wanted to share the story.
