I've told this before but it worth repeating - In 1970 I was on R&R from Viet Nam in Hong Kong. I felt I needed to go to confession, so I found a church in the middle of the day and walked in - I don’t recall anyone in the church however I saw a confessional - no one was waiting to go in, so I went in and made my confession. I could see an old priest, white hair, beard, and spoke English with a thick European accent. He was harsh on me - totally deserved - never had a confession like that before or since - never forget his face. Years later I saw a picture of Padre Pio and that priest in Hong Kong looked very much like him. Over 50 years later I still remember his face and the feeling I got when he scolded me for my sins. To this day whenever I sign anything I use Pio as my middle name. By the way 1970 was two years after Padre Pio had died.

When I remember that our Triune God is taking care of everything and will never abandon those of his children who trust and surrender their worries and anxiety to God through St Padre Pio! Amen. I smelled roses at his relic in an exhibit at church. I didn't know what it was until I saw the relic and then I knew. It was a cloth with his blood in the reliquary.

Im Italian and Catholic , I attended parochial schools, in my family we revered and still revered Padre Pio who lived in a monastery near Naples, WE LOVE HIM dearly and revere him to no end- He lived to 99yrs old
St Padre Pio was born May 25 1887
St Padre Pio passed away into eternity on Sept 23 1968
He was 81 years and right at 4 months old

He is definitely the most under-rated saint of our times. I recommend everyone read Katharina Tangari’s book called ‘Stories of Padre Pio’. It was that book that led me to have a great devotion to this great saint. So many of my prayers have been answered thanks to his help. Thanks Father Chris for bringing much needed attention to this great saint.

I have been praying to Padre Pio for a miracle. I need healing for a health problem. I finished a 9 day Novena to him and I smelt his perfume/odur. I know that is a sign that my prayers will be answered. Please Padre Pio, continue to heal me

I just want to say how much I appreciate all your UA-cam videos on educating Adult Catholics as well as clarifying and talking about issues that Priests always do not talk about…. I especially enjoy when you preface each talk with “ going back to my seminary days or checking my notes from time philosophy class etc. etc. You are a great human being , and a conscientious Priest. It’s so nice to see a masculine priest. I feel that the women’s lib movement damaged our women’s and men’s roles and the identity. We really need to return to The Baltimore Catechism for the youngsters and Aquinas philosophy or the scholastics! I will remain Catholic in spite of all the corruption ; it’s not Jesus ‘ fault but the disordered thinking and infiltration of the Masons. Since the Spanish Cvil War and The Catholic Persecution and Murder 0:10 of the all religious in Mexico- it seems it had long term identity crisis on The Jesuit Orders. I am certain St. Ignatius, Francis Xavier et al would be terribly disappointed! So thank you Father Chris Alar for truly being Catholic. It shows how much you love being a priest!

Padre pie helped my son over 20 years ago. My son was shot 13 times outside Reno neveda. Through the help of friar John little who was residing in Northampton,pa. Jim’s life was miserable and depressive with all his ailments and surgeries,worst I was afraid he wanted to die. After John little met jim my wife and I spent a few hours just sitting in church. After a hour or so they returned he gave us gloves that pio had worn. The hour ride home a change came over Jim, he was in good spirits and had a great smile on his face,which is still there today. It is wonderful to read in God's Word, those of us who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord & Saviour, become Saints. We also are sons of God, Kings & Priests & we will reign with Him throughout eternity. What a blessed prospect. His Grace is past finding out.

A few years ago, my wife and I, had a situation that had gotten very pressing. One morning, I drove to a Shrine dedicated to Saint Pio, and asked for his prayers in our matter. I also asked for Our Blessed Mother to pray. I was there for a couple of hours and was driving down the driveway of the Shrine when my wife called. The issue had been resolved! Thank you Saint Pio and Mother for your prayers and thanks to God for hearing and answering prayer and taking care of us.
