Lynch’s beastquake run was the beginning of the new Seattle Era, it is the starting point of the great 2012-2014 run we had. It literally breathed life into Seattle, it’s was roughly 3 years since our Sonics left, the Mariners where still a sorry team and the Sounders still where not as popular as it would grow to be today. This breathed life and rejuvenated a nearly dead sports culture in Seattle, which has now continued to thrive on to this very day. Whether Lynch’s number gets into the Hall of Fame or not, his contributions to our franchise WILL retire his number.
@Amaji RainesIt's a good run. But far from the best even on this list. #10 is better, So is Walter Payton's and Earl Campbell's, and Lynch's, and the scramble. It's only merits top 10 ten mention only as it was a record at the time and in the super bowl. Otherwise, it was pretty generic. That would put it at best #6.
@Amaji Raines No just being a since eclipsed record / big game doesn't make it #1 by any criteria. But you're entitled to your opinion even if most wont agree with you nor even remember the run unlike most of the others.
I happen to agree with that choice! Marcus Allen's 74 yds TD run has inspired so many young athletes ever since, to become bad ass RBs like Allen! It definitely desreves the #1 spot on this list!
I love that all these runs are either powerful and dominate like Beastquake and John Riggins run to glory, or elegant and smooth like Barry and Marcus Allen. Then you’ve got Steve young clearly just running for his life.
Beastquake is the absolute greatest run ever. He did that in a playoff game, in the 4th quarter, against the reigning Super Bowl Champs. It’s #1, no doubt in my mind
They really need to remove these comedians from the top 10 lists I'm sure plenty of NFL writers players and coaches will be more than willing to talk about the best moments in NFL history
Yeah but then all these people would be out of a job and we all know the state of unemployment benefits in the U.S. so you can think of this as the NFL/audience taking one for the greater good.
Why? You don't need experts to talk about plays that are remembered in history & everybody watches football! That's like saying Matthew McConaughey has or Will Ferrell has no right to talk about the national championship game between Texas & USC!
I agree. One or 2 comedians sprinkled in is fine. That's how the old NFL Top 10 was. This is stupid and a waste of time because most of the comedians state the obvious and aren't funny whatsoever, unless you're in middle school.

I was like "dad i gotta go!". Immediately started going crazy, celebrating w/ my friend like we won the superbowl. Never seen a run like that. We ravens fans too. sh*t was legendary.
I really appreciate Marshawn Lynch keeping it real about the Tracy Porter stiff arm. A lot of football fans think that a specific player is really dominant when something like that happens, but in reality it's the momentum of them both running, and Lynch pushing Tracy the direction they were already going to help himself stop. That's not to say that Lynch isn't extremely strong, or that any RB could have done the same thing, but Lynch couldn't have thrown another man like that standing still, and he clarifies that. Props to him for not pretending he's superhuman or something. Same thing with the Ramsey hit on Golden Tate. Good hit for sure, but aided quite a bit by Tate being literally airborne when the collision happened.
Redskins fan here, I knew before watching this video it would be #1. why is it greater than Beast Quake? Lynch shed tackles by the entire defense, only one Redskin was even able to touch Allen. plus Super Bowl against defending champs vs Wild Card against defending champs
Balon Greyjoy even if it’s for the Super Bowl, Marcus Allen’s Run still doesn’t deserve that number one spot at all! Sure Maybe If it was the last play, with no time on the clock, and he had to break 8 tackles, having to throw a player or two just to make a touchdown to win the Super Bowl...then yes. All he did was reverse and run the other direction up the WIDE OPEN field!
It would be disrespectful to have it #1. You just look at the run, but look at the factors surrounding the run. The differences in how good the defenses were and the significance. One was for a Wild Card, the other was for a Super Bowl.
Ryan R In that case, #3,- which gave the Redskins the lead in the 4th, should be higher than #1, which added an exclamation point to a game that had long been decided.

@Amaji Raines the john riggins run is a better run if you're going based off importance. Also I dont think anyone will agree about Allen's run being better than Beastquake.

Steven Brandt Yes it was reversing the field in a Super Bowl against a top tier team like my Skins in that game is the greatest run always until someone does something similar in that stage against true competition!
His explosive speed out of the hole is noticeably on another level next to the all time heros of the game. Throw in his jukes and low center of gravity which magically kept him on his feet, defying the created order, sovereignly determined by God. You got yourself the manifestation of the hero archetype in the flesh. Once I saw a clip of him turn into an apparition and go straight through a defender. The guy was stricken, then paused, looked left, then right, kind of vibrated above the neck and fell over dead. Coaches of the teams scheduled to play against him would attempt to train their defense how to not blink for 4 hrs a day, to boost their tackling attempts a few percentage points against Sir Barry. The man was a phantom, and the prince of the end zone. But you should hear me, I haven't even begun to get started about this man.
@@CrGJraeko This is nostalgia driven bias but they three Marshawn's run in there to cater to the younger audience. Larry Csonka and Bo Jackson's runs weren't all that great.
@Harry Engel um you don't know Jim Taylor then. He was known for running over everybody. Coach Lombardi got on to him because he ran into people instead of running for the end zone.
20:06 RIP Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson.. Crazy being a huge mma fan and him just passing a couple days ago I definitely wasn’t expecting to see him in this video
The Beast owned the top two spots, so I guess if you’re using Allen as a place setter maybe, because there’s some ruling about the same player not getting two spots? If that’s the case, and as long as we all realize who really held the first two spots, I think we can all kick back with a bag of skittles and truly appreciate the mode a la Beast.
Yeah pretty sure only you and the fans in Seattle think that. Beastquake 1 was epic, but to think either of those two runs is better than any of Barry's best runs is kinda silly.
@@deandrenicholas2545 I'm not a seahawks fan but Beastquake 1 was certainly the best run of all time. Sander's is the best RB of all time, but none of his highlights top Lynch's run
As a Niner fan, it would've been nice to see that run included, but I get that nationally Roger never got as much credit as he should for how good of a player he was
People talking ish about #1. He reversed field busted a 70+ yard run pretty much untouched against the defending champions. He didn't have to push anyone aside. It was just art
It's called good blocking and a well designed play. He showed some speed, cool. I see a couple run games every game that impress me more. Allen probably had 20 runs that were more impressive to watch. Literally nothing about the run stands out, and probably 200 RB's in league history could have made that same run with that kind of blocking and play design. Very little individual effort involved other than a decent amount of speed showed.
Biased opinion. Then I guess you will be quick to disagree with me, if I said Bo Jackson's run(s) should be taken out and be replaced with Michael Vick's 40-yard TD run
Oh, we love the Beasts like Lynch and Alstott, Campbell and Bettis who break tackles and punish the defense. It is the clashing, pounding, impact moments of gladiatorial sport. I get it. I love it too. Allen’s run isn’t the grind of the gridiron. It’s the grace of glory. He didn’t break tackles because nobody could touch him. Lynch’s play was power. Just run everyone over, and he had his whole team running everyone over with him. But Allen’s run was all his talent, his vision, his ability to turn what would have been a loss of yards into the longest TD run in Superbowl history. It is poetry like Shakespeare instead of bada%# beatdown of Tupac. Love ‘em both, and so hard to choose, but longest run in Super Bowl history makes it the right choice for number 1. Now, we need to talk Eric Dickerson. It is unforgivable how much he is dissed and dismissed in lists like this. He was faster and even more graceful than Allen. He knocked guys on their butts as well. But he hit the line so fast so many times that the defensive line looked like they were still getting up from their three point stances when he passed them already. Take either of his TD runs in his 248 yard playoff game against the Cowboys. Take the run against the Jets where everyone kept leaping at him all the way down the field to only touch his jersey or shoes as he soared, yes soared, passed. I have to say my favorite runners to watch were Earl Campbell, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, and Eric Dickerson. Campbell was the monster. Payton the never run out of bounds if I can run you over all around back and team player. Barry was the magicIan of escape and left more defender’s socks on the field than Santa stuffs each year. But the purest runner was Dickerson. Give Dickerson the line that Emmitt Smith ran behind and he’d have had 30,000 yards in his career and five 2,500 yard seasons. He is the single greatest talented running back ever. Find him a place on this list.
Beat Quake is #1. It's not named Beast Quake just because it sounds cool, he literally triggered the fans into cheering so loud it registered as an ACTUAL Earthquake. I don't know anything that tops that. Really think about it for a second, he caused an EARTHQUAKE...Marshawn made the earth f***ing move. That's just mind-blowing
This video may be 5 years old (2023 is when I'm commenting) but I disagree with y'all's choice for #1 which is the Marcus Allen "reverse field" TD run......All he did was reverse field and run....Beast quake should have been #1....💯
I not only think Marcus's run was the best run ever at the most important time of any game ever, but I still think that if Allen hadn't pissed off Al Davis and spent the next 6 yrs of his peak athleticism on the Raiders bench, he'd have every record known for rushing still to this day. Yards, TDs, recieving, and pretty high on returns as well.
@@briank06261973 Amen, brother! If Russell Wilson is to blame, it is for not checking out of that play and audibling to a power run for Lynch. No one--Dan Marino, Joe Montana, John Elway--could have completed that pass. SMH!!!
Joseph Wright I think it could’ve been completed but it was put in a bad spot... and the LB made a excellent play on the ball!! BUT that was absolutely 100% not the call to be made at that point!!! Reminds me of how my 49ers get a 1st and goal 4th quarter less than 2mins in the SB against the ravens and they called up 4 pass plays 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️😤😤😤😤
I remember the Marcus Allen run like it was yesterday. Defender is coming head on. He stops dead in his tracks, turns around, and manages to outrun him. It was a blown play which he turned into a game changer.
I'm a big Raiders fan and Marcus Allen is one of the greatest running backs ever but I personally believe that Lynch's run was a lot greater than Allen's.
How can they say that the Bo Jackson run is to high? To me the most impressive thing about that run is he shows how much faster he was than world class athletes. AND he didnt really run Bozz over? Are these people insane?
A single spin move and good blocking, not really anything impressive about the Allen run. If you're talking the context of the game and his overall performance, yeah, it was great. But single greatest run it's not even in my top 10 for most impressive to watch. There is literally nothing standout about the run, he just cuts back a single time and then has a giant hole to run through. What a joke.
The beastquake i watched personally and one the of most amazing plays let alone I’ve seen...but the Marcus Allen run is pure poetry in motion...and it happened before I was born...runs like that trailblazed runs like that...and it the fact he did it in the super bowl against the number one team that year
Lynch should be #1 IT LITERALLY MADE A EARTHQUAKE BECAUSE THE FANS LOVED IT SOOOO MUCH the people even said it’s number one, the people said Allen wasn’t number 1
So uh...Lynch should have been number 1. But on a different note there is a Mike Alstott run that's only 1 yard (but it stretches to the left for what feels like forever) and for a TD but its defiantly a super underrated run. I can never find it in his highlight reels, anyone know what play I'm talking about?
I am going to be the one to say it… I understand that it’s 2024 and everyone has to be celebrated and equal, but this is Football. This is old-school NFL films. I don’t care if I get banned. This is a great list and I love NFL films, but please don’t ever show. Mateo Lane again ok… we don’t care that you march in the rainbow ok not everything has to be about that, can we just focus on beast mode making an awesome run. So yeah like I said great video just like all the other top 10 list you fine people at NFL films produce the one hiccup with this one is that one comment he made… football is already so political nowadays can we just focus on beast mode and the greatest sport ever created football
Ridiculous that Dorsett's 99-yard run is 10th on this list. Not sure it's #1, but it certainly should be higher than it is. I sometimes wonder what idiot makes these lists, and this is one of those times.
Right before Steve Young broke free into his stumble to the end zone, Vikings #57 was about to touch Young from behind then Rice plants that man on the ground. Earlier you see Rice witnessing Young escaping from the pocket and Jerry just runs into the middle to block. Legend helping a legend. Crazy good.
Packer fan here! Born in ‘92 so didn’t really grow up watching him, but I can tell you without a doubt Barry Sanders is my second favorite player of all time. Only behind Donald Driver. Dude single handedly brought the Lions up from the dredges as best he could! Swap teams with him and Emmit Smith and it’s no competition who the best RB of all time would be.
Where is Garrison Hearst's 96 yard game winner in OT against the Jets?! perfect timing, 5 broken tackles, a defender-flattening stiff arm and drags a linebacker in to the end zone- all in a play that was meant to get the niners some breathing room!!! If that had been a bigger name, It would easily be #1. Ridiculous.
Seriously now here; What about the run that the Steelers defensive player, ames Harrison, who still plays today at near 40 years old did when he was at goal line of St. Louis Rams in Superbowl 43...he took the football away from Rams & then ran it for 100 yards for a Steeler touchdown. One of the best, exciting Bowls I have seen with the longest ever run (100 yards!) in NFL history and you do not even mention it? It is # 2 and the greatest ever must be, has to be Walter Payton as # 1.!
This list is horrible; the commentary by these knuckleheads made it worse. The only logical comment was about Bo Jackson's run -- it was played up because it was Bo Jackson and not someone else. It was fundamentally the same run as Willie Parker's 75 yard Super Bowl record which doesn't belong, because they just had good blocking and great speed.
Earl Campbell is the original beast mode. lynch was a good runner but Campbell would out run him and had a lot of great runs. Bo Jackson on the other hand is hands down the best athlete I have ever seen.
I'm a saints fan and even I think beast quake should've been number 1.
The only reason he scored was because the defenders were trying to strip the ball. Tackling Lynch would've just lost the Saints the game.

No... no way in hell that should be #1 it should be 5th at best
@@9mmsafetyalwaysoff00 LIES YOU ARE "GARPAGE" BOIIIIII
Jim Brown praising someone’s running style (in this case, the Great Walter Payton) is the highest form of compliment known to man.
I love how during Barry Sanders' run, a cowboy linemen literally was looking around for Barry. He looks so lost in this play.
Barry is the G.O.A.T
Agree! Give me ANY run by Barry Sanders. That man was electric, dynamic, a human joystick before Dante Hall came along to claim that nickname
Jamie Russell he was good but he wasn’t the goat Walter Payton is better
Walter Payton is better than Barry
Donavan Box disagree
Your comedians are awful. They provide no insight into the plays they are commenting on. They aren't funny either.
Why did you right an essay just to diss the comedians. You dont got to do them like that
They served no purpose except their opinions were cheaper as compared to more important people
What comedian they are as funny as a funeral
No one ran harder than sweetness every game their entire career. He's always going to be my number#1
My number #1: Tom Rathman-- S.F. 49ers.
Earl Campbell.
1. Beast mode ~ 2. Garrison Hearst - overtime walk off 90+ yards, tons of broken tackles, epic run.
Garrison Hearst should be #1
michael vicks 40 yd TD run against the vikings NOT on the list....GTFOH!!
It isn't on the list because it would have been unfair to the other players, Vick could take all 10 spots if he wanted.
@@CrGJraeko This is nostalgia driven bias but they three Marshawn's run in there to cater to the younger audience. Larry Csonka and Bo Jackson's runs weren't all that great.
That's what I'm saying. A game winning run by a QB in overtime to win the game. He made two players smash into each other. Come on now.
Michael Vick has been cancelled
"Best run pass quarterback" yeah thats vick
No Jim Brown? Really?
And no Gayle Sayers, Paul Hornung, or Jim Taylor
Was thinkin' the same thing....Where's JB?!
@Harry Engel um you don't know Jim Taylor then. He was known for running over everybody. Coach Lombardi got on to him because he ran into people instead of running for the end zone.
@Harry Engel watch
ua-cam.com/video/oSHLqoeRccM/v-deo.html
Jim Brown is DA MAN of football.
1. Lynch vs Saints
2. Lynch vs Cardinals
3-10. Everyone else
Old enough to understand how this countdown should be lol
20:06 RIP Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson.. Crazy being a huge mma fan and him just passing a couple days ago I definitely wasn’t expecting to see him in this video
I hate the Seahawks but man is it entertaining to watch Marshawn Lynch run the ball. He is my favorite running back to watch this pass generation.
Also no Vick D:
Blizzard Rivals and no Fred Taylor, or MJD smh
The Beast owned the top two spots, so I guess if you’re using Allen as a place setter maybe, because there’s some ruling about the same player not getting two spots? If that’s the case, and as long as we all realize who really held the first two spots, I think we can all kick back with a bag of skittles and truly appreciate the mode a la Beast.
Yeah pretty sure only you and the fans in Seattle think that. Beastquake 1 was epic, but to think either of those two runs is better than any of Barry's best runs is kinda silly.
@Rich Affinito I'm a seahawks fan. Beastquake 1 definitely should have been #1 on this list. Beastquake 2 wasn't as good agreed.
@@deandrenicholas2545 I'm not a seahawks fan but Beastquake 1 was certainly the best run of all time. Sander's is the best RB of all time, but none of his highlights top Lynch's run
4:22 I've seen this play 100 times. I love how number 75 has no idea the play is still going on and Barry is right behind him.
The most amazing part of this list is Barry Sanders running behind number 75 of Dallas and him not know what was going on 😂😂😂😂😂 4:19
I love the Steve run...”he dives.” Hahah that makes me laugh every time. He tripped on grass and stumbled into the end zone
Lol he was like “why am I still running?”
Roger Craigs run against the Rams
Dude knocked people out with his knees.
As a Niner fan, it would've been nice to see that run included, but I get that nationally Roger never got as much credit as he should for how good of a player he was
I'd substitute Csonka with Garrison Hearst's 96 yard run in '98.
Absolutely! An OT TD run for 96 yards. A walk-off 96-yd. run!
I expected that one to be #1. How in the hell did it not even make the list?
I am a dolphins fan from way back, and the Csonka run is good not top 10. I know Barry Sanders has 10 better runs than that.
My favorite Hearst moment, the leg breaker!
How is THAT run not on the list????
I’m here so I don’t get fined
mmm Walter Payton was a power house. The man was a freaking machine.
Marcus Allen Run is good, but better than both Beastquake runs? That's crazy.
Beastquake was probably better but it didn't win then a super bowl
@@cameronhuard7624 the raiders won by 29 points the run didn't matter
Where's emmitt smiths amazing dislocated shoulder run play at? Show my mans some love.
JkeRubio ENT yeah, they're just trolling us with this crap list.
Lynch should be 1 and 2 lol
People talking ish about #1. He reversed field busted a 70+ yard run pretty much untouched against the defending champions. He didn't have to push anyone aside. It was just art
It's called good blocking and a well designed play. He showed some speed, cool. I see a couple run games every game that impress me more. Allen probably had 20 runs that were more impressive to watch. Literally nothing about the run stands out, and probably 200 RB's in league history could have made that same run with that kind of blocking and play design. Very little individual effort involved other than a decent amount of speed showed.
add the voice of god in his last nfl film work for good measure
Biased opinion. Then I guess you will be quick to disagree with me, if I said Bo Jackson's run(s) should be taken out and be replaced with Michael Vick's 40-yard TD run
Dorsett behind E. Smith's O-line.....Light's out baby
Barry Sanders and Tony Dorsett should be ranked higher in this category.
BEAST MODE!!!!!!
We always talk about great runners but always forget to mention the O-line and other guys throwing blocks.
Amen to that, it's where it ALL begins.
I thought the lynch run at the end of super bowl 49 was the best
Oh wait...
Damn that call by offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. SMH.
@@JAWrightonline I know. Bevell threw SB 49, as far as I'm concerned.
@@Fier07112 don't remind me about that please😤😭😭
I remember the Marcus Allen run like it was yesterday. Defender is coming head on. He stops dead in his tracks, turns around, and manages to outrun him. It was a blown play which he turned into a game changer.
I was in basic training at Ft Bliss, TX and they let us watch the game. Marcus' run and Squireks pick 6 b4 half time stood out
I'm a big Raiders fan and Marcus Allen is one of the greatest running backs ever but I personally believe that Lynch's run was a lot greater than Allen's.
Mike Vick not being on this list is a travesty. Dude was an experience to watch.
That run against the Vikings where he split the defenders is one of the greatest runs easily
Lets not forget why these people were able to make these runs the offensive linemen
How do you leave out Roger Craig’s run against the LA Rams in 1988?? Smh.
Because all of these were better
I love that Earl Campbell run that's probably my favorite besides Beast quake
Absolutely punishing
So uh...Lynch should have been number 1. But on a different note there is a Mike Alstott run that's only 1 yard (but it stretches to the left for what feels like forever) and for a TD but its defiantly a super underrated run. I can never find it in his highlight reels, anyone know what play I'm talking about?
Was it when he leaped like four feet over a defender and Mike Alstott literally kicked backed into the guys back?... That was iconic!
Tony Dorset behind Dallas “Great Wall” offensive line would have ran for over 2000 yards each year.
Nothing is better than beastquake PERIOD
You guys screwed up by not including Jim Brown somewhere.
Where the hell is garrison hearst? You put Larry Csonka's run but not Garrison Hearst
As if Gale Sayers never existed.
The history of the NFL began in about 1980. Otherwise, everything that took place before that time never happened and should never be mentioned again.
Or Randall Cunningham or...O.J. Simpson.
kansas comet
6 td's against the 49ers in one game. he was one of a kind for sure
Barry Sanders is the best RB of all time. Records be damned, rings be damned. I would take him in his prime over anyone.
Ridiculous that Dorsett's 99-yard run is 10th on this list. Not sure it's #1, but it certainly should be higher than it is. I sometimes wonder what idiot makes these lists, and this is one of those times.
Still can't believe marshawn lynch did that to us..
Jaelun Scott We could be the Seahawks in SB 49
Im a seahawks fan lol best moment of my life
damon amendolara you have too much face and it upsets me
Right before Steve Young broke free into his stumble to the end zone, Vikings #57 was about to touch Young from behind then Rice plants that man on the ground.
Marshall Faulk's run against the Browns? He basically juked their entire defense.
how is micheal vick's run against the vikings not on here?
I was lookin for this comment, thank god
Sooooo the 98 yard game winning touchdown by Garrison Hearst doesn't make the list?🤔
Wasnt that a 99 yd touchdown as well and it was a overtime game winning run if im correct.
@@izuki1245 no there are 2 99 runs in history. Tony Dorsett and more recently Derek Henry
Correct it doesnt
i dont see how lynch isnt number 1
Where is Garrison Hearst's 96 yard game winner in OT against the Jets?! perfect timing, 5 broken tackles, a defender-flattening stiff arm and drags a linebacker in to the end zone- all in a play that was meant to get the niners some breathing room!!! If that had been a bigger name, It would easily be #1. Ridiculous.
I love the respect Emmitt has for Barry
Seriously now here; What about the run that the Steelers defensive player, ames Harrison, who still plays today at near 40 years old did when he was at goal line of St. Louis Rams in Superbowl 43...he took the football away from Rams & then ran it for 100 yards for a Steeler touchdown. One of the best, exciting Bowls I have seen with the longest ever run (100 yards!) in NFL history and you do not even mention it? It is # 2 and the greatest ever must be, has to be Walter Payton as # 1.!
Lynch deserves #1
This list is horrible; the commentary by these knuckleheads made it worse. The only logical comment was about Bo Jackson's run -- it was played up because it was Bo Jackson and not someone else. It was fundamentally the same run as Willie Parker's 75 yard Super Bowl record which doesn't belong, because they just had good blocking and great speed.
how is micheal vick's run against the vikings not on here?
Earl Campbell is the original beast mode. lynch was a good runner but Campbell would out run him and had a lot of great runs. Bo Jackson on the other hand is hands down the best athlete I have ever seen.
Earl was my favorite
Barry Sanders could have easily put 5 on this list.
