I have a ford taurus se 2001 I just replaced today the speakers on my car + new stereo (DEH-S4069BT) a kit that we bought back in 2017 but never used till now. I have not worked any adjustments to the audio on the stereo but for sure there is a huge difference from factory speakers + stereo to aftermarket ones. The only problem that i got was the rear speakers.. The ones that come in this kit are bigger than what my vehicle can have installed (6×8 on my vehicle) so i rush out to the nearest walmart and got another pair of Pioneer speakers with the right size. I have to say that this pioneer speakers+stereo sounds amazing! But if u have a ford taurus you know that this is a little trickie! The stereo wiring needs to be connected inside the trunk with a dash plus wiring kit i purchased online. I fully recommend this stereo for someone who wants to have a nice and clean sound system!

I'll be happy to help. To give you better advice, I'll need a little information about the setup in your vehicle. What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? Do you have 4 speakers in the vehicle for example: 2 front, 2 rear? Do you have a subwoofer in the vehicle? If you can answer those questions, I can give you better guidance for the sound you'd like to hear in your vehicle. To start, I recommend to set the EQ to DYNAMIC. Would it be wise to use speaker level settings SLA and RTRV if you have your speakers amplified by a 4 channel amp? And also when using a 4 channel amp should I always be subtracting on my crossover points when alreadying having the gain set?
SLA is Source Level Adjuster. SLA is designed to level out the volume of different sources as compared to FM radio. This way when you change between sources, you should not hear a wide jump in volume levels either up or down. Putting all of the SLA setting to +4 is not the proper way to use this feature. A small change of + or - 1 or 2 is usually enough for any given source. There is no reason to not use SLA with an external amplifier. RTRV is Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever. It's designed to be used on compressed audio sources, for example: low bit rate MP3 files, to give them a more life like feel. There is no reason to not use Sound Retriever with an external amplifier. Please take a look at this How To video from Pioneer about using crossovers and slopes on a Pioneer receiver: ua-cam.com/video/WvJXYh6vk_0/v-deo.html Please watch this video with the sound on. Please be more specific with your question about the crossover points. Do you mean on an HPF, or and LPF crossover. Changing the slope of the crossover may be a better option than changing the crossover point. You can find more videos on Pioneer's UA-cam Channel here: ua-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics
What does Save Settings mean? If power is disconnected, for example, mooring a boat, are they saved? Or do I have to put them all in every time I want to go boating?
Pioneer in-dash receivers have two power wires for installation. Yellow and Red. Yellow is for constant power. This keeps the clock and radio station presets along with the audio settings in memory. Red switches the receiver on and off with the boat. You can learn more about wiring your Pioneer receiver here: ua-cam.com/video/kR2MO2kwFug/v-deo.html When you save the audio settings, you can go and change any settings as a test. If you don't like the results of the test, you can " load settings" and the saved settings will be restored. As long as the Yellow wire has 12 volts, the settings will be saved. If you disconnect the Yellow Wire from 12 volts the settings will be lost. This includes the "saved" settings. @@deckerdotto6035 Thank you, the guy putting it in only hooked up the rear wires because I only have two speakers in my truck. But as you said, you need to hook up the front because you typically wouldn't want the sound of the phone going to the back seat.
1. Do not remove the USB flash drive. 2. Leave the source on USB. 3. Do not turn off the in-dash receiver. 4. Turn the vehicle off. When you restart the vehicle, the in-dash receiver should return to the source you were listening to, and in most cases the song/track you were listening to when the vehicle was switched off. If this is not happening, you may have the Red Wire and Yellow Wire connected incorrectly. Red is for ignition. Yellow is for constant power memory functions like the clock, radio station presets and remembering what source to return to when the vehicle is restarted. I live in an area with terrible DAB reception but once I'm a few hundred meters from the house the signal's great. However, when I start my car and turn on the radio the MVH-X580DAB automatically scans for available DAB and tells me there's no signal. I then end up having to re-scan and besides having no DAB for a portion of my journey, it is a dangerous distraction. Please help! I have four pioneer speakers and when i fix the crossover front as hpf 100hz -24 and rear as hpf 100hz -24 i hear no bass BUT when i set the rear or front (either one) at -18 or -12 db per octave i start hearing bass clearly. So what's with that? And which settings do u recommend?
What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? What is the model number or, at least the size, of the 4 Pioneer speakers in your vehicle? Do you have a subwoofer in the vehicle? If you are using a Pioneer receiver and for example: 6.5 inch or 6x9 inch speakers with no subwoofer in the vehicle, I recommend to set both the front and rear HPF crossover settings to 63Hz or 80Hz and a slope of 12dB per octave. If you'd like to learn more about what a crossover and slope do in a Pioneer car audio system please keep reading. It's a long answer but, you may find it to be valuable information. This sound like you are using a Pioneer receiver and it's working exactly as designed. This is a basic explanation of the concept of crossovers and slopes and is not meant to cover all of the ins and outs and what have you's in this discussion. Not even close. The crossover and the slope work together to provide a powerful sound shaping tool to customize the output for your particular speakers in your setup based on your listening characteristics. If you have ever seen a prism separate sunlight into the component colors of the rainbow, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, a crossover does the same thing only the crossover does this to sound. A crossover is a filter. There are two basic types of crossovers. LPF or low pass filter, and HPF or high pass filter. Speakers are designed to playback selected frequency groups. It's very difficult to design a single speaker that can playback very low frequencies and very high frequencies and do it all very well. That's why we have woofers and tweeters. You want your subwoofer to only play low frequencies and not high frequencies. That's what the woofer is designed to do. When you choose a crossover point, for example 80Hz on the LPF this is the crossover point, or cutoff point. Only frequencies below 80 Hz will pass to the subwoofer. That's what you want, and this is what the LPF does. However, it does not cut off like a razor. Does this mean that 80Hz plays through the subwoofer, but 81Hz does not play? No, that's not the way it works and this is where the slope comes in. The slope decides how sharply the filter rolls off the sound output. The slope is rated in decibels per octave, for example 12dB per octave. An octave is when we double the frequency or cut the frequency in half. With a 12 dB per octave slope and an 80Hz crossover point, at 160Hz, or one octave higher than 80Hz, the subwoofers output will be 12dB lower than the output at 80Hz. And 24dB lower at two octaves higher. The higher the frequency goes, the less it's played by the subwoofer, all starting at 80Hz. This is a gentle roll off. A sharp slope would be 36dB per octave. How does this effect the sound from the speakers? This is a tool to customize settings in different vehicles. You use the crossovers and slope setting to decide what frequencies go to what speakers in your system. For example if you are using 6.5 inch full range coaxial type speakers in the door, I recommend an HPF set at 80Hz and 12 dB per octave as a place to start. The door speakers will play all frequencies above 80 Hz. If you find the speakers low frequencies are breaking up at higher volumes you might change this to 100Hz. Or you could keep the 80Hz crossover point and change the slope to 18, or 24, or 30 dB per octave. Both of these settings might provide a good solution depending upon your speakers and listening habits. It's often a good idea to have the LPF and HPF meet at the crossover point, this way there is no frequency gap in the playback between speakers. You can see what a crossover and slope setting does in this Pioneer How To video: ua-cam.com/video/WvJXYh6vk_0/v-deo.html This video is very detailed and has a lot of information about what a crossover and slope does to the sound output. Please take some time to watch it with the sound on. You can find more videos on Pioneer's UA-cam Channel here: ua-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics
@@pioneerelectronics my in dash receiver model is mvh-s322bt and I have 4 speakers size 6x9 inches. I do not have subwoofer and I've set my initial settings as rear/rear. I did as u told me, I set the front AND rear HPF as 80hz -12db and i still hear no bass. The point is if i set both (for example) as -6 db or both as -18 or whatever i hear no bass. I must set one of them at a different slope to hear bass. It's so confusing i know.
@@MoutyHawk As you mentioned, the easy fix is to simply set the slopes differently. If that works, maybe it's best not to fight it. However, from what you're describing, it sounds to me like one or more of the speakers is wired "out of phase" with the other speakers. This means that one or more of the speakers is wired "backwards" or the positive and negative wires are flipped. This causes cancelation in the audio output and it would explain what you are hearing.
@@pioneerelectronics you're absolutely correct. I found one speaker wired wrong. I fixed it and it worked just fine. Thank you for your help I really appreciate it. And I wanna ask, is it normal that the dash receiver is hot from behind?
@@MoutyHawk The receiver has a built-in amplifier. Amplifiers give off heat. That's the reason the receiver has a large heatsink on the back. The louder you play the music the hotter it will get. This is normal operation. Additionally, if you are using speakers that have an impedance rating of less than 4 ohms, or you are using more than 4 speakers in your system, you'll see the receiver heat up even faster. Next, depending upon what type of music you like, choose an EQ preset. For example, Superbass, or Powerful if you like modern pop music, If you like talk radio or listening to a ball game, consider the Vocal setting. Jazz, try the Vivid setting. What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? Most modern Pioneer receivers don't have a bass and treble setting. There is a much more powerful sound shaping tool called a graphic equalizer. Don't be afraid of it. It's easy to use. All 13 settings in the Equalizer are frequency adjustments. You can use them to make any given frequency a little louder or a little quieter as compared to other frequencies and without changing the volume of the other frequencies. The frequency adjustments are arranged like a piano keyboard with the low frequencies to the left and the high frequencies to the right. If you want more bass, I recommend the "S.Bass" preset. It will add a lot more bass into the music. If you want more treble, I recommend the "Natural" preset. It will roll off the bass, and add in more treble. If you are listening to a ball game or people talking, or an audio book, I recommend the "Vocal" Preset. You can see the presets here: ua-cam.com/video/tMLFL8K3gMM/v-deo.html You can make your own adjustments too. Simply start with any EQ preset that sounds pretty good to you, and make your own adjustments from there. The 50, 80 and 125, frequency bands are typically the bass frequencies. 3.15k, 5k, 8k, and 12.5kHz are typically the treble frequencies. Modern Pioneer receivers don't have a bass and treble setting. If your Pioneer receiver works with the Pioneer Smart Sync App, you can use a bass, mid, and treble control from the app on your phone. I have an issue with the right side speakers dropping out every so often. It was happening and I check wires and it seemed to fix it then it started doing it again. When it happens, if you turn up volume a lot higher sometimes it comes back on? Is it something in the Pioneer DEH-S4000BT causing it or something else? This happens with the radio and when I'm playing my I Pod which is most of the time.
This could be any number of things. It sounds like it could be a loose connection, that only makes itself apparent when it's warmed up a bit or possibly some other environmental factor like higher or lower humidity. Is it possible, the speakers have an automatically resetting fuse that may be failing? I recommend to check the speaker connections at the speakers. Please be sure there is no loose wiring touching metal in the door, or rear deck or where ever the speakers are located. I also recommend to check the wiring at the back of the receiver. Be sure there are no bare wires, or wires touching one another or metal. When you re-assemble the dash to put the receiver back in place, be sure the wire harness is not being torqued in on direction or the other. When you are playing the iPod, is it a wired connection? Please check to be sure the wire for the iPod is working properly. You can find more videos on Pioneer's UA-cam Channel here: ua-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics

When on a phone call, the receiver treats the phone call as an independent audio source with an independent volume level. When on a call, the receiver's volume control will make the remote callers voice louder or softer based on the phone's internal call volume level. For example, if you are listening to the AM/FM radio at volume level 20 and a phone call comes in, the receiver should mute the music, and change to the phone call source. From this point, the volume control will adjust the volume of the remote callers voice inside your vehicle. As an example, if you adjust the call volume on the receiver to 30, when the call is completed, the receiver will automatically go back to the AM/FM radio source at volume 20. Please note, the volume control on the phone will effect the volume of the phone call when connected to the in-dash receiver through Bluetooth. Again as an example: If you have the phone's call volume at 85%, you will need to adjust the in-dash receiver's volume control to a certain level. If you have the phone's call volume to 25%, you'll need to turn up the in-dash receiver's volume control to compensate for the phone's low level. I'm not aware of a microphone volume control on the Pioneer MVH-S400BT. If you have the North American version of the MVH-S400BT I recommend to install the latest firmware for the receiver. I have a ford taurus se 2001
I just replaced today the speakers on my car + new stereo (DEH-S4069BT) a kit that we bought back in 2017 but never used till now.

How do you make the Pioneer deh-x3910bt stay in usb port mode everytime you turn on the key.
Hello,I purchased a car with this radio already installed. The car has a subwoofer, I have no fader so I assume it was set up with subwoofer as rear like you mentioned.
How do I change this so I can have fader?
What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? The model number is printed on the face of the receiver. The model number usually begins with the letters DEH or MVH.
dehs6220bs. From watching your videos I've heard if the sub woofer is hooked up to rear speakers you won't see a fade option on your radio. I have 2 amps and am sure the sub is not hooked up to rear speaker but I still don't see a fade option on radio. .y front speakers are not playing and need to figure out why

Hey I have Pioneer MVH-S425BT and 6x9 front and rear, no amp. I’m after a good setting for my speakers, cheers
If you are using the receiver's built-in amplifier and 6X9 speakers, I recommend to start with the Initial Setup SP/PO Mode as REAR/REAR. You can see it in this Pioneer How To video: ua-cam.com/video/4xf-rc9IEok/v-deo.html Next, in the Audio settings menu, I recommend to switch OFF any HPF or LPF settings. HPF / Off and LPF/ / Off. With 6X9 speakers and the receiver's internal amp, you should be able to run the speakers in full range without the use of crossovers. Next, depending upon what type of music you like, choose an EQ preset. For example, Superbass, or Powerful if you like modern pop music, If you like talk radio or listening to a ball game, consider the Vocal setting. Jazz, try the Vivid setting. Try the EQ presets, choose what works best for you in your vehicle. You can't go wrong with any of the EQ presets, and you can change them at any time. Is there a treble setting on this head unit?
You can see the presets here: ua-cam.com/video/tMLFL8K3gMM/v-deo.html
You can make your own adjustments too. Simply start with any EQ preset that sounds pretty good to you, and make your own adjustments from there. The 50, 80 and 125, frequency bands are typically the bass frequencies. 3.15k, 5k, 8k, and 12.5kHz are typically the treble frequencies.
If your Pioneer receiver works with the Pioneer Smart Sync App, you can use a bass, mid, and treble control from the app on your phone. I have a Pioneer AVH p2300dvd how do you set the radio presets
Wow, that's an old one. The Pioneer AVH-P2300DVD was produced back in 2010-11. Setting a radio station preset is easy.
Press the SRC Hard Key to get to the AM/FM Radio source. Next use the < and > Hard Keys to tune in a radio station. If you press and hold < or > Hard Keys you can seek to a Radio Station.
If the radio is skipping past the radio stations you like in seek mode, touch the Local button on screen and adjust the Local Setting on the screen to Off.
Once you've tuned in a radio station, touch the on screen Magnifying Glass symbol to display the radio station preset list. Touch and Hold a Radio Station Preset for a few seconds to set it into memory.
Touch the Band button to change FM1, FM2, FM3, and AM. There are 18 FM radio station presets and 6 AM.
Touch the on screen Up and Down Arrows to change radio station presets.

Hello, i have DEH-S4000BT, “ERROR AMP” the bluetooth stop...my radio don’t have sond. Solution, please.
Please check your installation. Amp Error may show on screen if you have the speaker wires touching one another or touching metal in the vehicle. Are the speaker terminals touching metal in the door? You can find more information about wiring here: ua-cam.com/video/kR2MO2kwFug/v-deo.html

You can find it here: www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Digital+Media+Receivers/MVH-S400BT#downloads
And after the firmware update, press the microprocessor reset button. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button on the face of the receiver just under the USB port.
It may be necessary to delete the phone from the receiver's Bluetooth Memory, and to delete the receiver from the phone's Bluetooth Memory. Restart the phone, and start the Bluetooth pairing process from the beginning.
