@@JohnnyG-b7j But dude, it's true. I was in the USAF doing flight line maintenance. You can't just copy a part - the philosophy of how parts integrate and wear over time is dependent upon the designer's predicted maintenance schedules. Think of Honda - they are well known to be forgiving with maintenance and will last forever - meanwhile an old Ford can keep running especially if you keep up with maintenance. Honda is thoughtful that their consumers may not do as much maintenance as Ford will do. The American military is obsessive about maintenance, it's why we have aircraft built in the 1950's still doing operations today. How often will China strip their J35 to the frame and xray it for microscopic failures? The USAF is doing this every 10 years. A very small thing like replacing O-rings on a regular basis can make the difference between combat ready and a "hanger queen" - and if one military anticipates changing that O-ring twice a year, another military replaces it only once every 5 years, it's a huge difference in failure rate.
@@horridohobbies It's because the F135 engine on the F-35 is that powerful. Even 2 x WS-21 can't match the thrust performance of a single F135. And this is b4 the Block IV upgrades for F135 engine. Maybe if they give J-35 2 x WS-15 would it match if not exceed a single F135 engine.
I love how this video condescend the J20. "it's a copy of refale mixed with F22" that's almost to say a pagani zonda is a mix of Lamborghini and a Ferrari.
What? That entire sentence was much more complimentary of the J20 than the J35, he calls it "a unique design taking characteristics from the rafale and the F22" and then goes on to call the J35 much less innovative and pretty much a copy If you just want to be mad at the comparisons sure, but to say that sentence condescends the J20 is exactly the opposite of what its tone was lol
meh, i get that, one super engine versus two Chinese bottle-rockets looks--- better? lol, no, really, the F-22 is nice, nothing compared to the YF-23, but the F-35 looks a bit like a little Nome (spelling?), but what is being loaded in it and upgrading... it's a little beast, and ~inexpensive~ finally. The fleet Isreal ticked Iran with were drop-dead invisible. They had no chance, and less now because Isreal reduced Irans radars and sams. The best is that the F-117 is still around and still the smallest return of any aircraft, including the F-22/
@@viciousstarfish Why can J35 achieve a super cruise of 1.5 Mach and a maximum flight speed of 2.2 Mach. The maximum flight speed of F35 is only 1.6 Mach, and it cannot achieve supersonic cruising. Additionally, dual engines in naval fighter jets are always safer than conventional engines. This is the experience that Americans have summed up with their blood. Now unscrupulous enterprises have killed the contribution of naval pilots for the sake of interests.
If the Chinese took the data files from Lockheed, unless we took their designs, then it means they have the advantage (they know what we are using but we don't know what they have). There are a lot of actual fighter pilots on UA-cam talking about the F35, you'll realize it's not at all bells & roses. About 50% of the entire F35 fleet is grounded due to excessive failures and needed repairs according to US congress. Add to that, the F35 is called "Fat Amy" for a reason, as it's actually a downgrade in performance in many areas compared to the twin engine jets it's suppose to replace. For example, the engine can't be run at full Military Power for more than 40-50 seconds without damaging the paint and/or hull integrity (this is mandated by Lockheed) and the mach limit was reduced from 1.44 to 1.30 in the A/C variants, but only mach 1.2 for 20 seconds in the B version. Yes you read that correctly, 20 seconds of full power mach 1.2 flight before having to switch the afterburners off. On the other hand, the new J35 has a twin engine design using updated domestic engines this time with much more power than the F35 using it's single P&W engine. Pilots really prefer having 2 engines not just for higher acceleration and top speed, ability to supercruise without afterburner, but also because if one engine fails you can still bring it back home. This is a major limitation of the F35 as many compromises were made to the design to accommodate the modular approach. So already the J35 has a clear advantage on top speed with an estimate of mach 1.8-2.0, a supercruise est of 1.4-1.5, longer range, better acceleration, higher combat ceiling and better overall kinematic performance that comes with twin thrust vectoring engines. This jet has a lot of potential right off the bat with their design choices, but nobody can know how well their stealth or electronic systems perform yet...
speed isnt that important in bvr fights. hiding is. second in regular flight speed reigmes the f35 engine is extremely reliable so no need for second engine and all the complication that brings. if the f35 is in a dog fight something already went very wrong. seems like your the opposite of the china bad people which is also not helpful.

Don't get me started on the F-35 using oil as coolant, or the fact cooling is a major issue for it's electronics, they're still trying to fix it in the newest batch. Not to mention that single engine is a problem, high bypass means it eats aircraft space for lunch, bisecting the weapon bays limiting it's A2A

Do you mean that you and I both have two legs, two arms, and one head, so you are imitating me? Most cars are the same these days, so who copied whom? So when developing an aircraft, you only need to develop aerodynamic layout, and there is no need to research flight control systems, engines, stealth coatings, etc.? One of the problems with China simply copying US tech is that it won't freak the US out enough to make a generational leap in aircraft tech because we will already know what the aircraft is capable of. Unlike what the soviets did that spawned icons like the SR-71, F117, F-15, and F-22. I like when generational leaps are made and tech is pushed to near breaking point
F-15 wasn't "spawned" by the MiG-25, the program already existed even before the MiG-25 flew. F-22 was the product of a program for a 5th gen Air Superiority Fighter, which wasn't a response to anything the Russians were building. SR-71 was spawned because of the need for photo-recon on a better platform than the U-2, although being much more expensive, it never flew over USSR air space. F-117 wasn't spawned by the Soviets at all, it was purely a development to try out stealth.
Oh ye, that one time US claims it has a hypersonic missile to bring the Soviet Union to the knees in an economic war? Guess that spawns a whole new branch in the PLA. Wdym by copying? The only thing that is the same is the design, not the electronics, weapons etc, unless that hurts your feelings on two countries having the same design.
2 engines will outperform 1 engine. Energy in air combat is key (potential energy from altitude Work = Force * distance = mass of aircraft*g*altitude plus kinetic energy = 0.5* mass* velocity**2). Energy is rapidly depleted when making hard turns. Hard turns is what makes a superior close air combat fighter. Two engines restores the aircraft’s energy faster than one engine. If dimensions are similar to the F35, then aerodynamic performance will likely be similar. However, 2 engines will allow higher speed which is crucial for several reasons (1… escape unfavorable scenarios to fight another day. 2… arrive at key locations faster for tactical advantage 3… higher airspeed at launch gives missiles longer range). Two engines will give the J35 superior performance at higher altitudes. (1… Air launched missiles at high altitude have longer range 2… air combat at higher altitudes 3… more efficient cruise at higher altitude) J35 is a more recent design than the F35 so it likely incorporated more advanced technology. Although technology refresh updates to the F35 help keep it state of the art, this is not as effective as a total aircraft redesign from scratch based on the latest technology. Also J35 undergoes more rapid redesigns than F35. The whole U.S. military acquisition process is based on a rigid approval process that ignores obvious necessary changes. These changes are held up and saved for a new upgrade cycle under a new contract. Company management is focused on delivering what the existing contract requires to the exclusion of what has been learned since the contract was signed. This includes continuing useless work overcome by events just to get paid. Companies simply look forward to making more money to fix problems outside the original contract requirements with a new contract after making the maximum money off the current contract. This means they deliberately hide issues in order to not give justification for stopping work on what was contractually required. The net result is a major time delay in getting the ideal delivered product and overly expensive development cost.
I did a personal research and I found something Convair made called the XC-99. It looks like the B-39 but made from wish and made for long distances cargo. Please do a video about this.

Why do you think the Chinese knock off is more advanced? It's hard to be more advanced when you are copying. China is not an innovative country unless you count hacking. You can find pretty much every design they have ever used in other countries weaponry. Mostly Russian and US. There is no evidence to the claim the J-35A is more advanced especially with Chinese limits on advance micro processing chips. Even the carrier it will be launched from is a rip off done poorly.

Correction: fair competition is good (cheating and stealing is worse and should never be held in high regard by anyone or any nation who aspires to be the best).
There are some crucial things that you did not mention: 1. the J 35 does not have vertical takeoff capabilities. (The F 35 does, but it is used for short runway takeoff in most cases due to high fuel burn); 2. the J 35, being a twin engine jet, flies faster at Mach 2.2 than F 35 at Mach 1.6. 3. The most significant similarity between the two is not the aerodynamic shapes, but the techniques used in making these jets. They both adopted integrated components made by stamping and simplistic design.

I'm sure China wouldn't let their aircraft industry degrade and fall to shambles like every other industry: food, housing, automotive, electronics, etc.
I have no doubt the J-35 can match a Mig. But I highly doubt the J-35 is as stealthy as the F-35 and probably has worse reliability as the weakness of all of China's fighters is their inability to manufacture comparable engines to Russia or America.

You mean British-Japanese-Italian GCAP? I believe the problem is that it's still constantly evolving, and it's not clear what technologies are going to go in it. For example, before joining forces with the British, the Japanese were experimenting with integrating radars into aircraft skin, so it both had a giant omnidirectional radar and could actively mess up with plane's radar return creating so-called "active stealth". If this technology works and is expected to go onto GCAP , it's gonna be truly a sixth generation fighter. All we know, is that currently it's gonna be a large delta wing fighter, with presumably very long range and it's intended to have engines with very high electric output and electronics cooling capability, but not a word about electronics itself.
Many people in the comment section say that China's fighter jet plagiarizes the US F35. In fact, it is not right to make such an evaluation. China's J-35 using dual engine , while F35 using the single engine category. J35 is larger in size than F35 and has a combat radius twice that of F35. J35 is equipped with anti stealth fighter radar, while the US till now does not have anti stealth fighter radar. J35 also has supersonic cruise capability. F35 It is impossible to do supersonic cruise. There are similarities from the side, but in fact, the differences are very big. The various electronic devices, avionics systems, software, etc. inside the fuselage are completely different. All of them are the results of Chinese engineers' research and development. All of them are made in China, especially the engines, which are 100% Chinese technology. China's fighter planes must use their own systems and need to be interconnected with other Chinese fighter planes. If the fighter planes are so easy to copy, Japan, Türkiye, South Korea, Australia, and many European countries all have F35. Why can't they produce a successful stealth fighter? China's own engine technology is now very mature, which is the result of the efforts of Chinese engine engineers for decades, So when it comes to smearing China, just a little mental rotation will reveal that there is no basis for smearing China's plagiarism. China is not just a fighter jet. In recent years, various new weapons and equipment have been launched and put into mass production in the field of national defense, reflecting the overall significant improvement of China's industrial strength. Now, China's annual industrial output is higher than the combined annual industrial output of the second to tenth places in the world. This is a reflection of China's industrial strength. The US F35 and F22 will actually lag behind China's J35 and J20 in technology in the future. China's anti stealth radar and PL19 missile with a range of 400 kilometers carried by fighter jets can completely make the US stealth fighter lose its combat advantage. Military technology is constantly improving. The fighter jet looks old
Interesting. I really like China's approach to upgrading their military. Gather intel, steal technology, adapt it to Chinese criterias and conditions and make it quickly. They have impressive industrial capabilities as we all know. They simply do not have the time and resources to design everything from scratch. Their tech might be slightly worse than the west's, but I still think it is capable and I think them being able to produce a lot of it quickly outweighs the potential downsides.
@@Orc_Remover Industrial capabilities can only go so far when your enemy is already the largest army on earth multiple times over. Chines spying stealing and copying is outstanding. However, it still doesn't come close to the F-22 and F-35 in real world use. The reason the J-35 has two engines is because of two reasons: 1.

@@M16_Akula-III In fact none of the aircraft that he mentioned were developed as a response to anything the Soviets build :D
Copy single to twin engine design? How?
F15 was much better than any Soviet fighter of the same period
(1… Air launched missiles at high altitude have longer range 2… air combat at higher altitudes 3… more efficient cruise at higher altitude)
J35 is a more recent design than the F35 so it likely incorporated more advanced technology.
I was waiting for this.

Despite having a ton of industrial capacity, the quality is just not there. Its nice being able to produce tons of guns for cheap, but when every gun is firing rounds that tumble, you might as well have just bought guns from someone else.
And that is why project Tempest data is airgapped and heavily encrypted

It’s literally a copy of the J29 and a copy of the F35. You can literally look at the fuselage and it’s the exact same as the J20, with different wings, and a different rear end. That’s it. On top of the fact that they got these aircraft done in such quick time, it’s gonna be extra shit.
Same with the Chinese Blackhawk and Apache. They literally just copy the US.
Huh, did they steal our plans

J35 is 2.2 Mach, F35 is 1.8 Mach. J35 radar detection range 250 km, F35 200 km. Radar reflection J35 is 25 times smaller than F35. Go figure the rest.
J35 looks somewhat similar to F35. However, F35 is too heavy, too fat, too slow, combat radius too short, weapon bay too little, air to air missile range too short, fuel tank is too little, no super cruise capability, not to mention engines failures too often. Chinese J35 help US corrects all these problems and it beats F35 in every way.
F22 also can hardly be upgraded to adopt latest technology. Meanwhile J-20 have lots of upgrade potential. Its latest version J-20B is considerably more capable than its first version. Unlike F-22 China has been continuously chucking out J-20B,J-20S… It’s already at the north of 300. By mid 2025 it will be twice as many J-20 as F-22.
Not to mention the latest electronic warfare version of the J-20S is used for the drone host, because the J-20S has 2 seats, one person controls the aircraft and the other controls the drone swarm. In the future, one J-20S will lead a swarm of 20 CASC Rainbow drones to fight. How do F22 and F35 attack J-20S and J-35?
The U.S. is responsible for fantasy and making PPT, and China is responsible for realizing fantasy. This is the current situation.
They managed to catch up to a 35 year old plane and nearly 20 year old plane. Congratulations China! You're now only 20 years behind.

Bro you gotta deal with all the chinese shills in the comments
Chines spying stealing and copying is outstanding. However, it still doesn't come close to the F-22 and F-35 in real world use.
The reason the J-35 has two engines is because of two reasons: 1. The engines are not that reliable coz the ChiComs can't make advanced turbine engine blades. 2. A single WS-13 engine does not provide enough power, so two are needed.
Compared to F-35, J-20 is already found to be a less stealthy aircraft according to a 3rd party CAD study done on Aircraft 101. So will J-35 be any different? More likely not but only time will tell.

Then it was caught on radar going an absolutely crazy speed (Can’t remember that either, but it was a lot faster than any interceptor, or multi role fighter in U.S. inventory.). We came to find out, later, that the Soviets had purposely let the U.S. catch it on radar, so we would be worried about how fast it was. A while later, we managed to get a hold of one of those planes…. Come to find out; The plane could go that fast, but only for a very short time, and within a few minutes, the engines were damaged beyond repair!!! So the Soviets trashed two of their newest and most technologically advanced engines, just to scare the U.S.! Worth it? Gorbachev thought so!

Well, although I am Chinese, I still have to say something bad about CPC. In fact, most of the Chinese variants of SU27/30 are not manufactured under license. Only the first small batch is like this. The agreement also stipulates that key components must be imported from Russia. Later, China secretly produced a lot of parts and then mass-produced J16s beyond the authorized quantity. Russia was very angry about this. As a compromise, China promised not to promote the Chinese variants to the international market. Obviously, J16 is more competitive than SU30.
