This is nearly the same recipe as the Serious Eats Super Thick Chocolate Chip Cookie. It's supposed to resemble the Levian cookie. They claim the nuts are there for 'structural integrity' otherwise the molten center won't hold. I found that if you increase the flour by 50g and still make the same amount then it holds really well.
Just making these now and they have been in oven for 20 mins and still look like when I first put them in! I have turned oven up a bit . Dough tasted amazing though so I have hopes it will taste as great cooked!! 🤞So here is my review of cooled cookies ,Too much flour in recipe made them hard ,(US flour is different from European and needs more liquid )they didn’t spread at all,taste was good but I only added half the salt recipe said and that was quite enough. My son (a tough critic on my baking) ,said it was more like a heavy scone! Over to you Donal.💁♀️
