Hmm so the 2008 has a more performant and refined engine, interior that feels and is more upmarket, you can get it with panoramic roof, has more confortable seats and it 's more practical but the Captur wins because it has more "clever" touches like a drawer for glovebox, seat covers with zippers which you can wash (in case you regularly carry pigs) and customizable faces for mirrors.. That sounds legit..
I noticed most people that dish these cars are mostly people that spent a lot more money on a badge that give you way less specs. Couldn't imagine having to press a button to unlock a car anymore or using a key to start or having to turn on the wipers when it rains or the lights when it gets dark! All things that come as standard on Renault medium trim levels. Not an added extra like it most badge cars. People that buy these kind of cars wan value for money and low running costs. They are used for everyday life not for getting from 0 to 60 in three seconds. I will be buying a Renault Captur. I will be paying only 15k for a new car and I will be getting a lot for my money and have a good reliable car for the next 5 years until I change up again. And the money I save for not going for a badge I can spend on a holiday or something else! :)
if you can put a little bit extra money, you'd be better with Captur over Clio because of higher seating position and longer wheelbase.. so that's why they decided to make this car class for who got bored sitting in full of plastic Clio in the traffic
The french clearly prefer Capture more then 2008. Look at the sales in june. Capture looks awesome, rides better, it's more personalizable and more practical.
Seems like the 2008 is "posh" and the Captur "urban" Which drives best on UK roads will probably be the main issue. Captur also gets 4 year warranty and servicing included compared to 3 years with Peugeot. Will have to drive both to see which is best.
The Peugeot appeals perhaps more to a older segment of drivers, the Renault has a more youthful appeal, not much to choose from between the two, but for small families, it must be important if the trunk can accomondate the baby things, the cart, and the bag with diapers and stuff, and which of the car better allows you to lift the child in and out of the childseat in the back. I think the Peugeot 2008 is the best choice overall. Cheers.
you have 4 years of warranty in UK ? in france it s only 2 years ! it seems that renault does the same thing than kia , they give 5 years of warrenty only abroad but in korea it s 2 years
Could they have chosen worse colours for the renault,I like them but that is horrid lol. I bought the clio and it's a good car Peugeot are very close but get more for your money with renault. I only keep my cars for 2-3 years so I don't care if they last or not 4years warranty is more than enough
Only prob is that the Captur is a Renault. I've had my fair share of typical Renault problems such as window lift crashes, dead display, various electrical problems and dead automated locks on a Scenic I previously owned. I'll never even consider buying a Renault again after spending appx £1500 in less than a year just to keep the Scenic running with all passanger windows closed, a functional AC and knowing what speed I'm going. The Peugeot gets my vote.
the only reason why the renault looks "ugly" is because it doesn't really suit the colour blue, with white to be honest. but in every other colour, it looks beautiful. peugeot just looks plain
You never heard about the quality problems of a Tiguan have you (the plastic interior, the paint job and of course standard VW problems (TSI, DSG))? It is also a much bigger car so what's your point?
peugeot is,hands down, the better looking car in this review. renault is...well,it's a renault. and the only car which is decent is the new laguna. everything else is just total garbage to me.
the peugeot 2008 has a very good antiskating ? , heu antisliping ?, heu no traction control ? he i m french i m lost .... wahahah . in any case he is very good !

Quality build 2008 for sure! I test drived both and decided on the 2008. Very nice build car. The Renault is plastic, plastic, and more plastic.

seriously sometimes i wonder how these guys ended up reviewing cars...

I'd prefer the Renault Captur. Though that "filing cabinet" glovebox looks awkward...
what were Peugeot thinking when then named a car 2008, sounds like a 5 year old car.
Spot on . Drove the Captur today and the quality of the interior was poor
you have 4 years of warranty in UK ? in france it s only 2 years ! it seems that renault does the same thing than kia , they give 5 years of warrenty only abroad but in korea it s 2 years
@6:45 Alsace is in the North East, not North West.
The final conclusion of the comparison is clear : Renault wins !
what car is good looking for you?
He seems like he's high as a kite and anxious of an imminent falling piano.
Peugeot all the way. The renault is boring
Good review! Renault has such awesome concept cars that the production versions always dissapoint me.
Separate road tests of the UK spec cars, please?
Good review!
I think the Renault is a cracking looking car, and they didn't mention the uber-cool Renault RS Sound effect option!
LOL the way he describes and caresses the Renault design like he is making love to it .
Could they have chosen worse colours for the renault,I like them but that is horrid lol. I bought the clio and it's a good car Peugeot are very close but get more for your money with renault. I only keep my cars for 2-3 years so I don't care if they last or not 4years warranty is more than enough

Yeah because what small families are really looking for is the car that's more fun to drive...
funny a neigorger mine have the same problems in the new generation, i change the car for a mercedes 220cdi from 2002...
Does that Peugeot remind anyone of a SAAB ?
capture looks so much smaller and it has much more space wtf lol
if you still have money too buy one os this your life is not that bad...
I like both.
I would take the renault
the only reason why the renault looks "ugly" is because it doesn't really suit the colour blue, with white to be honest. but in every other colour, it looks beautiful. peugeot just looks plain
The 2008 is more elegant I think, inside and outside
The 2008 feels

Peugeot is a better car then Renault but i like the disign of the Captur
...DB9?
Only people who are eight foot tall needs vehicles that tall
pour moi sans hésiter la 2008
The 2008 feels much Moche upmarket than the ugly Captur. Also, engines, built quality and styling are much better in the Peugeot
guyz seriously.Renault seems more nice to look at! Peugeot is left behind by a lot!
I disagree with you. Peugeot looks much more stylish than the Renault
'Fog light surrounds which look quite cool' - seriously? What are you smoking mate? Looks way cheap if you're over the age of 20.
2008 had a fog light out
it has cornering lights
SUV with FWD... yea... we're going the right direction...
Not!
renualt is much nicer
Yeah, it looks more like Quality :)
the 2008 is more like a station wagon of the 208...
You never heard about the quality problems of a Tiguan have you (the plastic interior, the paint job and of course standard VW problems (TSI, DSG))? It is also a much bigger car so what's your point?
Peugeot is better I think.
The Juke makes one wanna puke. :)
small suv? nooo, you're big dude :)
I'd take a VW Tiguan French cars are terrible lately. Even the Koreans are making very nice SUV's now.
Hop over the channel and buy your car here!
peugeot is,hands down, the better looking car in this review. renault is...well,it's a renault. and the only car which is decent is the new laguna. everything else is just total garbage to me.
The Captur is ugly and cheap looking. I think the 2008 is far more better to look at and seems more up-market
the peugeot 2008 has a very good antiskating ? , heu antisliping ?, heu no traction control ? he i m french i m lost .... wahahah . in any case he is very good !
You make them look tiny
The Captur looks quite tacky :/
2008
Ugly cars are ugly! Jesus Christ!
I don't like crossovers, but Nissan Juke ismuch better and it has good looking.
Renault c cool
My eyeees. They both look proper shit. If you buy one of these your basically admitting life did not work out as you planned.
Pútrido, renault. Inside, peugeot
