"Almost like the Super Bowl" because neither he nor his family was dying, I guess. I'm sure that clip will never see the light day....but I will remember his words forever.
Past history of how USA acted is relevant.
They lied about fatalities in Vietnam, tried to cover up the same killing now bringing such out rage cause it's Russia. They did the same in WWII.
Absolutely not. Usa must be held accountable for its multiple crimes all over the world.
And I get to be called ‘Putin Troll’ or ‘CCP troll’ all the time when I pointed out the lies by US government and media.
It just shows you how successful US government and media manufactured consent.
Yep, your own friends are hypnotized by the bs.
I watch all the other news stations to see the range of special interests at work. I watch Democracy Now to see the more truthful news and better world that we all deserve.
Powerful. Thank you
Interesting to see this on DN. I was a HUGE supporter of yours for 25 years, especially during the war in Iraq. Such dark days. But now, given the last year -- it seems DN has joined in the mainstream media in manufacturing consent for this latest war. It's so depressing.
It must be your depression that shadows your opinion, because you're wrong about Democracy Now.
Well said
May finally finding its way back to being progressive and gutsy

The PNAC is an essential reading to understand American war politics. The Wolfowitz doctrine of eternal wars.

Indeed. It is a circus for the masses. Remember, most Americans today have no culture of education; they only have entertainment, violent unabated Hollywood entertainment.
The Neoconservatives are psychopaths.
neocons are everyone's worst enemy
BRICS Country shout make a joint military alliance, that would contrapart NATO’s aggressive behavior. That will be great for peace.
Indeed!! BUT China invaded TIBET & many of it's neighbors including India!! China still hasn't settled the border issues & occupies Indian lands known as Aksai Chin in Kashmir since the 1960's!!
Indeed …these nations have been treating their own citizens so nicely the last 200 years 😅😂😂😂😂
Every American should watch this, especially the ones cheering for further escalation against Putin.
completely different situation, that is obvious. should be every russian should watch this, they are the ones tracing our own footsteps.
against an autocrat dictator like putin you mean
how about putin de escalating the war and just backing off and leave Ukraine
There was apparently the outlines of a peace plan in place within a month of the war that Boris Johnson and the US asked the Ukrainians to back off of. The outlines of that agreement was along the lines of Minsk 2 plus neutrality for Ukraine as far as NATO goes.
Why was it rejected in my opinion, because the war offered a chance for the US's real strategic goals... To degrade Russia at least militarily and best of all, using Ukrainian lives. Russia isn't going to back off because they are taking a step they warned about and were ignored for twenty years. The US manufactured consent for Iraq in barely a year
@@pablolozano8595 How about educating yourself on the atrocities that happed to Russians within Eastern Ukraine and why the Minsk agreements were signed. It is not Putin that is refusing peace negotiations it is the West and the UK. Putin met with China and they put together a 12 point peace plan which the West refused.
They are doing it now too!
I find these evil people sickening....I lost friends because of them...[...]
Find like-minded folks and do something about it, together.
Why are those people NOT been charged with WAR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY?????
The ICC is ignoring those war criminals.
Why don’t Amy point out that is the same thing the media and democracy now is doing in Ukraine
Criminals on both sides of the Atlantic...total evil!!!
Thank you for having this guest on. This is such a necessary perspective.
Yet NO connection to the illegality and immorality parallels to "war" in the Persian Gulf & Mid East Nor. Africa and Ukraine.
The mendacity and omissions are off the charts on this channel, Demagoguery Now!
Great host 👍definitely going to buy his books. Hope documentary gets to Netflix, Amazon or HBO but I somehow doubt it.
I would suggest reading "The Medium is The Message', by Professor Marshall McCluhan.
He invented the term "global village" and describes the effects of media and computers on society.
This is extremely interesting I wish this shoe was viewed by more Americans
World Peace! Silence of the Lambs is real.
Nicely said 👍
Danke Amy,WE love you
Nothing has changed.
Don't forget the Obama administration and the current Biden administration.
Don't forget any American president beginning with WW2, except for Past President Jimmy Carter.
He didn't start a new attack on a foreign country for their wealth and oil.
neither Obama nor Biden lied us into wars
No.more freaking WAR!!!
How much did the US contribute to the rebuilding of Iraq, let lone apologizing to Iraq and the whole world?
The same kind of response and promotion of war was witnessed during WW1
Then & now. :-/
Same right now before WWIII

DISGUSTING LIES.OVER AND OVER AGAIN WORLDWIDE!
This is just a recap of what AmeriCIA is doing right now in Ukraine and Taiwan next.
Oh wow. Sounds eerily familiar to the current conflict we've weaseled ourselves into
how? we've picked the right side for once.
@@joshuap9580 you didn't pick a side, the US prompted this war, but as with what they say here people are easily manipulated, we're going to have another video like this about the porpaganda today 20 years from now, and if the US is still standing someone will tell someone else again "they did the same 20 years ago".
It's all about the natural resources of Iraq, not about WMDs or Sadam Hussain, but nobody has the balls to admit it.
DN will produce a version of this episode to remember the Russia/Ukraine military operation 10 years later. We will congratulate AG for her wonderful reporting as usual 😊 In real time, all we get is the same drum beat. Truth will have to wait.
Exactly they all comment about it after the fact
They use the same playbook every time and it works every time. Unleash the tribal instincts and the population is on board with every war.
100%
what will be said in 10 years? that the west cowered again in the face of russia as it rebuilt its empire and subjected millions more to authoritarian rule? or that we stood up for what we say we believe in?
WTF? You are comparing the two?
Follow the Oil and the money.
The time has come to put America back in its box.
We silence Julian Assange we put Julian in jail to cover our war crimes

Danke!
Thanks for great story
Empathy in war could be construed as accountability which in turn can lead to possible liability. Prayers to all for healing and peace.
We are coming full circle back to the same place, but the US does not have the world's backing anymore.
And they're doing it right now with Ukrane
Vietnam and Iraq this generation biggest shame

You would think the parallel to current situation with Russia being painted black is obvious…
So, what have we learn from this?

I want to see the episode "How Democracy Now paved the way for the Ukrainian Proxy War". That would be more relevant.
Exactly
The question is, is this happening again with the Ukrainian war? And why isn't anyone including Democracy Now, asking this question.

Wonderful program.
As Executive Director of the Institute for Public Accuracy-which challenged Bush administration's claims Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction-Solomon organized and led missions to Baghdad, seeking to avert the impending U.S. invasion. In mid-September 2002, he went with Congressman Nick Rahall (D-W.VA), former Senator James Abourezk (D-SD) and Conscience International President James Jennings to Baghdad, where they met with top officials of the Iraqi government, including Foreign Minister Tariq Aziz. Days later, Iraq gave a green light for UN inspectors to return to the country.

When will the people of the USA start voting for politicians who do not need diapers?
Which American people? Many American people willingly put on face diapers for three years and volunteered to get vaccinated with highly questionable vaccines.
US presidents don't run America, there are just playing the role. Jesuits of Rome run the US puppet government for Pope
I do wonder whether the ppl of the USA can vote with common sense. I think many ppl lost their critical thinking skills.
It appears ppl are so divided that some will never vote Republican as a Democrat and it doesn't matter what candidate is chosen for that party. Even after the two years of Biden and seeing the blunders, mental issues, rise of inflation, vast homelessness, all time high addictive drug usage, record number of illegal immigration from Mexican border and these people will still vote for him for another 4 years in 2024. This administration prefers to pander to the woke initiative and Black Lives Matter. Like, wow. Even Kamala Harris is a laughing stock to people abroad yet I think many Americans can't see it.
