Not a little Greek island, but southern USA, the same. Although I can't imagine anyone wasting a good watermelon to make someone wonder.
@@wayneleboeuf5040 I used to stick a stamp to a joint and then throw it in my neighbors mailbox everyday...they had no clue what to do lol. It was funny watching them look left-right-left-right over and over trying to figure out where it came from. When I stopped doing it they were trained like dogs and would actually dig in their mailbox to see if one was there.

I made my friend a chocolate cake for her birthday...but forgot to add the sugar. No one wanted to say anything and we were all kind of looking at each other like wtf is this? Turns out my friend loved it as she is diabetic and this way she could eat a lot more! 😂

When my friend’s dad was in the hospital, I used to always go visit him and we would discuss different food items and restaurants we like. He’s a diabetic and the food he was allowed in the hospital was sorely lacking in flavour. He later told me about how important those food discussions were to him when he was stuck in there.
I had no idea at the time how important it was to him. 😂 I just like talking about food. I levelled up accidentally too, hehe.

This is a common misconception about being diabetic. It’s actually carbohydrates that raise blood sugar.

@@iriswaldenburger2315 and fat and protein can also affect blood sugar later on. When diabetics are managing their bs it’s done by strict carb counting via ratios. So my point was that though it’s not great for diabetics to eat sugar filled foods, it’s the carbs that they pay attention to, count, and then dose with insulin accordingly. MANY people think that if someone is diabetic they should just avoid sugary foods and that’s it, and though that is technically correct due to the body breaking down sugars into simple carbs, the main way diabetics manage bs is by counting the carbs in the food that they eat. Many people do not know that carbs have anything to do with bs management. They see a diabetic eat a piece of cake and it’s a problem but if they see them eating a bowl full of spaghetti they have no opinion about it. That was my point.
I did walk out on a job once. The owner was leaving the kitchen dirty after his shift for me to clean while I got ready to open every morning, including every dish from the service that previous night. I had all the cleaning and all the prep and my shift was busy as hell because people only ate there when I was cooking. He hadn’t paid anyone in weeks and I complained that morning about all of it combined. He said in front of all the staff just as all the orders started to pile in if anyone didn’t like the way he did things they could leave and looked at me. I took off my apron, threw it in his face and walked out the door. Apparently the customers left not much later because he couldn’t get the orders out himself and regretted his words. That basically closed his restaurant.

SAME!!!!!! I was a grocery clerk in a place that also had a restaurant. The restaurant would be FILTHY every single morning. It was visible by customers and as soon as I went to clean it myself I found out they didn't even own soap. I left. Immediately. Worked there for a week.

I did walk out on a job once. I was DJ at a new nightclub, which was geared towards an older crowd- think 50's malt shop. The place was packed every weekend, the dance floor was full, it was a decent atmosphere. The third weekend in, on a Saturday night, the boss came into the DJ booth and said he wanted me to play the Macarena. I was reading the crowd, and they were really more into 60's and 70's style music, so I didn't want to play it, but told the boss I would, and basically ignored him. He came back a bit later after I hadn't played it and insisted. So, he's the boss, I line it up. The song came on, and before the song was over, a packed bar completely emptied. The boss just watched in shock. I went in the next week to tender my resignation, and unbeknownst to me, he decided to turn the club into a strip joint. He was out of business 5 weeks later. What an idiot.
He hired you to be the DJ. His club was packed. He should have trusted your judgement. Hopefully you now have a job where your instincts are trusted.
P.S is there ANY generation that actually LIKES the macarena? To me it was something I suffered through in elementary school lol
@Trisha Breann Murray me too! It's not a song I'd listen to when just chilling in my room or when cleaning or walking or whatever, but in a club on a night out? Who doesn't love the Macarena?
@Cindy B wow! Your former boss was a moron. You were the DJ, the joint was packed, the dance floor was heaving, clearly you were hitting the nail right on the head! I know a lot of people like dancing to the Macarena but not if the crowd is digging 60s and 70s music, it just doesn't fit. I just don't get why he'd want to play that when what you were doing was working so well! It makes zero sense! Although it sucks that it lead to you not having a job, I bet it felt really good when everyone cleared out and proved you right!
And to turn it into a strip club?! Wow. The fact it closed 5 weeks later shows not only could this guy not read a room but he couldn't read people full stop, or he'd have known a strip club wasn't what people wanted.
Hope you weren't out of a job for long and that you've been very successful ever since!

I only buy bookmarks because I like what it has on it. Like kitty cats or dogs. Then they spend the rest of their lives in my junk drawer! 🤣🤣🤣
I LOVE bookmarks. I have them all over the place... except in my book. I end up using old envelopes or whatever I have laying around. I feel you.
Especially the ones that have a smell on them. I miss Scholastic over those bookmarks. I'm still trying to figure out how to print some because I really liked some of the printable bookmarks I have seen online.
All of my bookmarks have my favorite characters on them....or wolves....so many wolves EVERYWHERE

@@stevegreening419 no. It depends if you scratched the whole circle, but if you didn't, it can last for weeks. The more you expose it to air, the faster it will lose its smell.

I walked out of a job, drove the company car 560 miles from England to Scotland, left it there and mailed the keys to the office. It took two people to get the car back (drive up in one and drive back in two), and because it's a 10 hour drive it took them both 2 days. I had to get bus+bus+train home, but it was so f-ing worth it. Swore never to be on anyone's payroll ever again, and so far (since 1994) I never have been. Footnote: do not try to hitchhike back from John O'Groats in winter - nobody is there!

My manager would buy her breakfast and then usually get too busy to eat it right away. So she started leaving the bag on the portable heater thing (it's ventilated) to keep it warm until she was ready to eat it. She's such a great manager

Lots of people have their packages delivered to their work. I know because I get calls from those people yelling at me because private couriers deliver outside business hours and their packages get returned to sender.

I worked at a place that used a lot of temps. They wouldn’t come back after lunch.
I guess that's why they're temps.
I worked at a place where they did that, but left the lunches just to get out. Not temps, really good pay, but really rugged job. When I hired on they asked if I had family, I had 3 kids, they told me, "You'll probably stay".

I worked at a restaurant. Not fancy, but very good.
The hostess, who was also the manager was bitching at me, while I was trying to wait on the entire dining room. The other two lunch servers got the day off because their periods had synced, and they both got them. 😳
Every time I walked back to the kitchen, the manager was leaning on something, not trying to help me at all, but just laying into me because it was busy and I am but one man.
I went back to the kitchen to see her on the other side of the line.
Not cooking.
Not helping the overwhelmed chef, or, god forbid- ME!
She leaned in the window & said something similar to “What is your ducking problem? (Note:The word was not ducking) Can’t you do ANYTHING right?”
To which I replied “Why yes, I can...”
I went downstairs to the employee room, grabbed my shit, and went back up.
When I walked out into the dining room, I could see her looking over the room, with a plate in her hand.
“I don’t know where this goes.”
I took my stack of guest checks (back before restaurants used computers), threw them at her feet, told her to figure it out, and left!!!
The look on her face was Priceless!
But......
They begged & pleaded me to come back, which I did.
But they never pulled that kinda 💩 with me, again!!
Just reading this comment is so satisfying. I hope they offered you a raise to make you come back cause I'm telling you, there's no way in hell I'll work as a waitress ever again!

The $1 bookmark made me laugh. I wanted to buy some basic blank tokens for a game once, but I frowned at the price at the game store. I thought, "its just blank plastic disks- why are they so expensive?" In the end it was cheaper to just use pennies. So yeah, one of my board games has a bunch of pennies in the box.

My friend & I decided to walk out after our first break the boss saw us leaving & came to ask where were we going. We looked at each other then at himb& said we quit. He said yeah right get back to your machines. We kept walking he said ok day shift we kept walking he then said alright dayshift $2.00/hr raise we shrugged turned & we back to work . 6 months later we did it again got another raise. About 6-8 months we tried again he let us walk that time . Lol.

Instead of rice for phones which never ever works and really couldn’t work, try those silica packets that say “do not eat throw away” you get in certain packages. Save them up, and then if your phone ever gets wet, turn it off, put it in a Tupperware container and seal it off with several silica packets, let it chill for a day or maybe less depending on how much water got in your phone, this works for all smart phones. I unfortunately had to test this last week, and it saved my phone and saved me from having to buy a new one I couldn’t afford. I have an iPhone 11.
Rice does work. I'm going to try your idea though. It always depends on how wet it got and how fast you put it in something. There is no cure-all for all wet phones. Sold them for 6 years. BTW people should always tell the phone people if it fell in the toilet BEFORE you hand it over ffs.
You can buy silica crystals in bags from florists or online
Yes rice does work but it’s better to use minute rice as it takes in moisture really fast and holds it faster! But yes it does work!

Well, anyways, back to thinking of pink flamingos, when I was a kid, my Mom had 3 pink flamingos figurines in the garden. They were made of cement and thin metal bars for legs. (they were not the cheap plastic ones they have today). Actually, our house was also painted pink as well. And no, we did not live in Florida, we lived in Upstate NY. Then after a while they painted the house a different color. At which time, many folks came up to my parents and said that my parents had messed up the directions that they would give to their arriving out of town guests. Evidently, our pink house on the corner of 2 streets had become a major landmark in their directions :-/

The bookmark thing, I absolutely buy cute bookmarks occasionally for a few reasons. 1. They are a specific book themed item and all things book related make me happy.
2. They are often cute and make me smile.
3. Some other items used instead of a real bookmark can sometimes damage the book. Like dollars are freaking filthy! I don't want that nasty in my book! Some receipts can stain the book if they have ink or damage the paper if they are chemically treated. Something too thick can leave indentations in the pages, too.
We now walk around the house yelling "subscribe!" to each other. Your job here is done.

I have left a job bc I had gotten hurt working there and they asked me to work over ten hours knowing i had to go home and sleep for my second job.
I have had boxes delivered to my work bc where i lived at the time boxes always gotten stolen.

I had a co-worker say he was going out for stamps. Came back two days later and acted like nothing happened.
I had a coworker who slipped out early almost every day. He'd get up from his desk leaving paperwork and pen on it, a coat on his chair, and take off. Took quite awhile before management was clued in.
I once had some packages sent to work. It was for a surprise for my mother (she lives with me). Anyway, I ended up getting really sick and the packages were taking up space at work. I felt so bad because they were doing me a favor.
I can vibrate my eyes really really fast.
It freaks some people out. I love that.
I refuse to work on a Saturday, so I sit here and watch lots of Charlotte's videos.....she really cheers me up....

My supervisors used to get personal packages delivered to the paper we worked at. Until the editor received one. Not sure what arrived, but it pisses him off to no end

Yes I walked out and on a job I was hired at Popeye's fried Chicken to be a cashier I worked half the day as cashier business got slow moved me to the back to where there was a mountain a mountain of greasy pans and other greasy things the manager sent the dishwasher home early and told me to do it I took the apron off and hat and sat on the mountain of greasy pots and pans and I walked out I never went back for my paycheck since it was only a half a day screw them they can keep their money
Screw them for not realizing that when you applied to work at a fried chicken fast food chain you didn’t anticipate washing “greasy things”
I walked out on my job at Domino's Pizza. I had a final due online on Friday night by midnight and they tried telling me that I was going to close (getting out of there at 1 AM) after I told them way ahead of time that I couldnt be the one to close. They said ok and then changed their mind the day of....I walked out
