When I was about 19, I hadn't seen my best friend in a few days and both of us had gotten a hair cut and colored it. Camera phones didn't exist back then, so neither of us knew what the other looked like. Her and her boyfriend came to pick me up to go out and we were both in the exact same shirt that we'd both just bought without the other knowing, both had the EXACT same hair cut, and both had gone from blonde to red. We just starred at each other and her boyfriend just kept looking back and forth then broke the silence with, "Y'all really are the same person...", lol.

That's a tale of true friendship, it's the syncing of the mind lol, One of my closest friends in college we would hang out a lot and people knew if they saw one of us the other wasn't far away (outside of classes). One time her boyfriend asked us how we communicate without talking, he found it fascinating that women could do that, lol.

The craziest thing that has happened to me? I was an intern during my medical formation, I entered to the OR to assist on a surgery during my surgical rotation. The blade of the scalpel slipped from the handle. This was an open abdominal surgery, so if the blade had gone in it could’ve caused a lot of damage to the patient.
I didn’t think about it or was even really fully aware, as if my brain had gone into autopilot just for that moment, I reached out caught the blade between my right thumb and index fingers. We all just stood there and the surgeon asked: did you caught it? I said: yeah, I’m pretty sure I did. He then asked me if I was okay and that if I’d cut myself and I said I didn’t know because I was afraid to move and that if I had I’d contaminate the inside of patient’s abdomen. They put a specimen collection tray underneath and I moved the hand. I had in fact cut my fingers with the blade and the pressure I was making was stopping the blood to go everywhere.
I was escorted outside the OR to get it cleaned and sutured. Alas, in the beginning there was no nurses there to suture me up. Granted, they were busy attending to an intern with simultaneous deliveries. So, I began suturing myself up. Yes, you heard it right. I grabbed everything I needed, presented it all in the tray and began working on it. Granted, it took a while to get things started, having one hand temporarily out of service and everything. Also granted, I was midway suturing my thumb when a nurse came in and asked me what happened and she began apologizing and I told her there was no need, I understood they were too busy, but this was an actively bleeding wound, a minor one but still, it had to get dealt with. She finished for me, beautifully done and in the meantime we started talking and we became really good friends, and we are to this day.

So a vet told me that hissing at a cat is actually a really good training technique- it’s what the cat mom does with her newborns to teach them. It’s worked out amazing! I’m not one to overuse it or anything - I’ve also followed the hiss with a firm no, so now when she hears me say no she stops whatever she’s doing and runs to my side. Cats are like super smart.

OH! That wedding pic is the best thing, EVER! I wish I knew this family, they look like my kind of fun bunch.
At the reception for my cousin's wedding, my brother got wasted, and was trying to pull a gag he did often for laughs, drop his pants "accidently" to reveal some obnoxiously loud boxer shorts.
Oops. His boxers dropped to the floor along with his pants, and he stood there, exposed!
My Uncle Charlie didn't miss a beat, "Whatcha doing there, boy? Showing off your shortcomings?" (Uncle Charlie sounded exactly like Foghorn Leghorn).
One of the few times I actually saw people fall down from laughing so hard! NO one thought to get a pic.
That was over 30 years ago, and we will never let him forget it! He did stop doing that silly gag, though.

When I was a teenager in the early 90s I was on a trip to LA with my parents. We were staying at a popular hotel in the heart of LA and we got on the elevator to head down to the lobby and go out. The door opened on the next floor down and a guy got on that we all recognized. We couldn’t believe that he was standing in front of us facing the doors and he started quietly singing to himself while waiting. It was Steve Perry from Journey and he was soft singing “lovin, touching, squeezing”! My dad kept pointing secretly to him as if we didn’t see him right in front of us but he was so geeked to see Steve Perry in person! It was a moment from our trip that we never forgot!

I really adored Patrick, but not as much for his talented acting chops, as that he was a kind gentle soul, very talented dancer and completely devoted to his wife, Kathy. He'd absolutely be the gentleman type that'd help someone back to their feet after a slip & fall & then check to make sure they're ok. I had a puppy who ate my homework. I brought it in with a not from my mother. My teacher laughed so hard. He had been a teacher for almost 20 years had heard this excuse before. HOWEVER had never actually believed it because I was the first one to bring the evidence and a note from mom. My puppy had a bad habit of tearing paper up. In the end the teacher gave me a 100 on my paper and just let it be and he saved the paper and framed the sheets and hung them in the teachers lounge. 10 years later when my younger brother was in school. It was still hanging and my brother loved telling teachers it was his older sister.

When my sister and I were in high school, our mom adopted a newborn lamb that had been abandoned by its mother. It lived in the house for a couple of weeks as it was mid-winter. So one evening my sister was sorting notes for a term paper on the coffee table, and the lamb chewed several pages. My mom wrote a note to her teacher saying that the lamb ate it. The teacher thought the note was fake and called our mom; after a lengthy conversation, the teacher finally believed the story and gave my sister a short extension on the paper.

I was walking in the downtown CR area the day before his performance, and who should walk right up to me but Robin Williams himself! He was trying to find the Paramount Theatre, where they had (still have?) this huge, amazing old pipe organ. He had researched things to do in town, and he really wanted to see this organ. I pointed him in the right direction, told him the visit would be worth it (that organ was beautiful), and he said, "I hope so!'. He genuinely seemed to be excited, and I was touched to think that he found something interesting and exciting to do in our town. Most famous people wouldn't bother.

I dont know if the whole "put a car in a weird, public & seemingly impossible place" is a 'thing' for engineering grads at every university, or not......but, I live near U.B.C. (in Vancouver, Canada) and when I was a kid I remember that most Aprils around here the engineering grads would always pull some public, often hilarious & seemingly impossible, car stunt. Like placing a car in arms of a statue, like the statue was rocking it sleep, etc...
First thing I thought of when I saw the car on the balcony🤷‍♀️
    Second thing I thought of?
Somewhere along the line the UBC engineering grads must have dropped this tradition. Or, become more boring, maybe. Bcz I haven't seen the crazy car thing done around here since maybe the late 90's.
If, perchance, a future UBC engineering grad reads this? Consider it a request to revive the tradion!😁
We all need more fun in our cities, right?!?

I actually walked into Rodney Dangerfield. Fleet week '88 we were in NY and I was walking with 2 friends just chatting. We were in our dress blues and enjoying the city. We were walking next to each other chatting. As I turned to talk to my friend on my right, I ran into...actually bumped into Mr. Dangerfield. When I looked up I jumped back about 3 feet and shouted "Rodney!" like I was greeting an old friend. After an awkward gathering of myself and doing proper greetings, we asked if we could take a picture with him. He declined saying he didn't want to start a crowd and had to get to his club. He walked about 20 to 30 feet away, turned around and said, 'You know what, that is the least I could do for you guys.' So I took pictures of my 2 friends with Rodney. After a couple of shots he said he had to go. I, being the photographer up till now, had not gotten my shot. I turned into a 5 year old boy at that moment and said 'What about me?" He laughed and I have one of the most cherished photos of my life - my arm around Rodney Dangerfield.

There's a bunch of ducks around the city I live in. Even more so in my neighborhood because we are on a canal. When we first moved in there were about 10 of them in our backyard and I fed them some grapes. Then a few days later got a grocery delivery, when I opened the door there was one duck trying to get my food. When I tried shooing him away so I could grab my bags he tried to bite me and he wouldn't back down. I grabbed a handful of sunflower seeds from my kitchen and ran back to the door. He had pulled something out of a bag and was biting at it. I threw the seeds and quickly grabbed my groceries. Well guess what, about 2 days later I hear a taping on my front door, It wasn't like a regular knock. So I look out my window and it's the duck! No way was I going to open my door lol! This guy don't give up. 😜😆🤣😂😆😅🤣😂

4:10 I remember seeing a video clip from some fishermen(I think?) featured on a channel where a mother otter jumps onto their boat having been chased by two or more orcas. They motored away until they weren't followed or something and when the mother otter had calmed down she started crying out for her child. The orcas likely had already gotten the poor thing so her cry was very distressing.
I've heard a mother and son otter cry back to each other on a nature show when being separated in the snow and a fox or coyote or wolf was nearby and the cries weren't nearly as sad sounding. (The ones in the snow reunited and got away btw) If the conditions are right out in the water, like the otter is tired or the vessel is still enough, I think otters see your boat as a nice resting area and so long as you're chill they are, too.
Also, 10:14 In the 9th grade I stashed my backpack in the garage, zipped closed, but the pug/beagle opened the bag and found the small book of like the Odyssey, I think. She had pulled only that book out, that we were having to read for class and homework, and ripped quite a few pages out. I had to show my teacher and I opened with, my dog ate my homework, he was curious and then I showed him. He busted out laughing but then said I did need to pay to replace it. I said I figured and just needed to know how much. It was either 5 o 10 dollars.

I'm like 96% certain that the "stick" is a cutting from a plant like a rose or a fruit tree. That tag looks like one's found a nurseries. Many plants are easier to start growing from taking a cutting from an established plant and rooting it. You just cut a nice branch/stem off, remove the leaves etc, dip in rooting hormone and plant it. It will start its own root system and begin growing. For certain plants it's the only reliable way to do it because growing from seeds either isn't possible or is impractical. For example, fruit trees take years to mature enough to bear fruit, but starting from a cutting can cut that time down significantly because the cutting came from a plant that had already been growing several years. Cuttings are also used for grafting, especially in fruit trees and ornamental trees and bushes.
I have seen grafts and cuttings travel like this when someone on vacation falls in love with a plant and wants to grow their own. Airlines don't have a problem with it but just like everything else it must be x-rayed and in many cases labeled because there are a few limitations on what is allowed to be imported where so invasive species aren't introduced.

When he was in preschool and was talking learning what animals say what sounds. Well we didn’t know a lot of people with cats most of our family and friends were dog people so he really only knew the mean cat so whenever we would ask him what a cow said he would say moo dog woof ect. This didn't happen to me, but it did happen to my dad so I grew up on the story.
When my dad was in HS (16 or 17, I don't remember) his friend was driving him home from school when he was supposed to be taking the bus. He was in the front passenger seat. A car ran a red light and t-boned the car on the back passenger door, just behind my dad's seat. As a result of the impact, my dad's head made contact with the car door's window so hard it killed him instantly and shattered the window. Twenty minutes later, paramedics were actively zipping him into a body bag and he suddenly sat up, breathing hard. One of the paramedics literally pissed himself. The other paramedic asked my dad if he was okay, if he knew where he was or what had happened to him. My father, in true Monty Python style, simply replied, "It's just a flesh wound" and passed the fuck back out, this time breathing. Derek Noland, the man, the myth, the legend XD XD XD

One night about 3 in the morning he was called out to the farm. When got there the police were there. Well a big bull got loose and ended up on the road. A man who was really drunk hit the bull. It totaled the mans car. The bull didnt get a scratch. My husband said that the man was totally upset. His wife on the other hand couldnt stop laughing. He was driving. At one point the sheriff had to walk away because he was trying not to laugh at the man. He kept asking his wife was there a big cow in the road. Bless her heart she just kept saying no without a smile. Her comment when somebody came to pick her up, I will never forget this. My friend had a dog who never bit anyone. The one time someone came at his owner aggressively, he nipped them and broke the skin with a pinhole cut. They called the cops and they were forced to put him down. I can’t imagine why you would keep him around others if he does that. Dumb. Irresponsible.

She woke up Saturday morning to discover that it had snowed in her living room over night.
A closer looked showed it wasn't snow. It was her student's book reports.
The following monday she told her students that she had bad news and good news. She said the bad news was, my dog ate your homework. The good news is, you all get A's.

I unfortunately do not have a photo or video of this, but at the gorilla enclosure at the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City there was a group of young kids whooping and hollering as a massive male gorilla approached the glass. I could already tell he wasn't happy, I wasn't either having to listen to those kids. He comes up to the glass and SLAMS HIS FIST ON IT. The kids all gasp in fear and get quiet. He gives them a look like "Good, don't do it again" and then walked off. One of the funniest damn things I'd ever seen. I've also seen at the San Antonio zoo a baby human and a baby bonobo play with each other through the plexiglass of the enclosure, it was amazing to see. Apes and primates are amazing.

The craziest thing that ever happened to me was when I was 10 and one of the girls who bullied me in school was on her way inside the school door. There was this little front step made of metal outside of the door and she was walking with two other girls. As far as I know she hadn't seen me. In my head I wished she'd trip on the little step thing in front of her friends to embarrass herself and then she tripped. Nothing happened to her other than a bruised ego but I learned to never wish bad things on others.

10:13, I was recording my very first project in film school and my stepmom's dog ate the SD card I'd rented from school. My life flashed before me cuz it was school equipment and I was like, I am for sure gonna lose all of my equipment rental privileges on Day 1. But then I realized the camera literally took the same SD cards as my little point-and-shoot camera. So, I grabbed another SD card, made a sign that said "my dog ate my homework", recorded myself with the chewed up SD card and the sign and incorporated it into my project (conveniently a music video to Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger"), and still managed to turn the assignment in on time.
When I returned the equipment to school and explained what happened, they were shocked when I handed them the chewed up SD card (and a replacement SD card) and were like, "Wow! You weren't kidding! The dog really did eat this!"
When I made my senior thesis film, my "production company" was Half-Eaten Homework Productions and I had a lot of fun explaining the backstory. 😅

I was feeding some swans that had a lot of babies, and the parents had mixed feelings of "nomnom food" and "stay away from my babies! But feed them! But not too close!" Which was amusing enough watching adult swans be torn, but then when I tried to go back to the car and put my bag in the back, the signets were trying to get into the car. The parents area housing like crazy to get me away from their babies, but the babies were coming close to me, not the other way around 😂
The swans, ducks, and Moore hens in that area are in a community pond, so they're used to people putting food out because there's not enough natural food, but nobody believes me that 5 signets tried to get in the car of their own volition 😂
