I used to grow these flowers and people said they look amazing. Many years later, its my goal to start a new African Violet collection. From my experience, best results are in shallow clay pots to allow air to the roots with a light soil (not sandy).
What a lovely window of violets. Perfect conditions and so happy too. They need the same conditions as orchids for light and temperature and where violets grow so will orchids....
love your African violets i also have many videos of my collections another great video! i have some they were two toned white and purple then changed to solid purple after reblooming in only a few months later.your orchids are lovely too!
I enjoy your videos, can not wait when you upload the new one. Every day watching. I am in love witch saving orchids, but just started, so no results yet, but i am learning from you. I believe flowers like when we talk to them and your orchids and av and others hearing how much you care and love them ,that is why they grow so well for you. Good luck and God bless. Btw you have beautifull and calming voice.
Thank you for the kind words :) I believe they could like the vibrations of your voice, I talk to them anyway I can't help myself :P I'm glad you enjoy my videos :D
Pretty flowers. I'm not a grower I just kinda started and was wondering how to grow giant, violet queen flowers. I have some seeds and wanna know how to grow them properly.
You have helped me so much with my orchid collection and I'm so grateful to you for that! For the first time in 15-20 years I'm actually seeing my Phals bloom! (I am stubborn LOL and kept trying with the orchids until I found your UA-cam videos and finally found success thanks to your instruction!) But I just started collecting African Violets! My question is about where I live and the temps related to my climate. I'm in south Florida and now that summer is approaching temperatures will get to near 100 degrees. The humidity is dense and the orchids love it but I'm not sure what to do with the violets. My apartment faces west and when the sun sets it's brutal outside! Do you have any advice for me and my violets?
Do you repot and spray your new African Violets when you first bring them home , before you introduce them to your existing collection? Very nice video!!
Danni.....i don't think thats called 'small collection' if you have more than 10 AV!! LOL..for me thats alot..anyway i can see your collection will getting big soon!! Who can pass a 1 EURO AV...Happy planting!
Hi Danni. Ok, now you did it, now you have to have a African violet care video. I know if you don't take care of them right they die. I also know you should always water them from the bottom. And hey, stop showing that BIG apartment building across the street from you - you're telling all those people where you live - do you want them to come get you? There's some crazies out there!
Hi Burr :) well.. it wouldn't be a great educational video, as I water from the top and sometimes even shower them :)) so I'd better not give out that kind of info until I know it's safe in all environments, or it's just a myth that the leaves die if they get water on them. Don't worry about the block in front, our blocks all look identical lol :)
Hi Danni, I have been enjoying your videos along with Brad's and SooNeety's. Why is it that people who love orchids also have African Violets? I love my orchids and wish I was brave enough to share, but also have African Violets. If you would like some very good tips on African Violet care, watch m3rma1d's channel. She is very interesting and has excellent tips on AV care. Keep up the good videos!

Thank you :D yes they do share the balcony in the summer and get the same conditions as my Phals, I guess that's why they do ok :)
Yay! Another african violet hobbyist :) I love african violets and I also love orchids. I'm glad I found someone else who loves the two as well :)
Hi Gabrielle :) I like them both but with african violets I really am not an expert, I am glad they grow well though :P

I didn't know you had a violet collection as well.
The blue one in particular was stunningly beautiful.
Thanks :D yeah there are a few violets here and there too :) diversity
Hey you should look up african violet chimeras and that might tell you why some of your violets changed colors when they were regenerated.
Foarte frumoase si violetele! Si eu le iubesc!

very nice ... i bought 1 AV last week and i love it, planning on buying more in the very near future.
Awesome :D they require little space so they're great for the home :)
plus they are so easy to propagate :)
How do you propagate yours Darrick?
Do you repot and spray your new African Violets when you first bring them home , before you introduce them to your existing collection? Very nice video!!
wwpoodle Hi, no not really, they rarely have any pests due to the hairy foliage :)
very nice

well it's small cos it's not as big as the orchid collection lol I should not buy anymore though :P
hello,
how do you get them to grow to a big size?? i can never seem to get mines that big.. they are lovely!
Hi, not sure what you mean by big, but these plants are small in their nature, you cannot get a bush out of them :)
did not mean a bush, i meant the leaves look so nice and spread out.
Mine did that the moment I added fertilizer and brighter indirect light.
