- 24th February 2016, Air Iceland´s first Dash 8 Q400 arriving to Reykjavik airport. They did a nice lowpass. This is the first of three Q400 aircraft to arrive to phase out the vintage Fokker 50 that has been in service for domestic airline Air Iceland from 1992. Before the F50, Air Iceland (Flugfélag Íslands) had Fokker 27 since 1965. Air Iceland has also had Dash 8 -200 since 2006.
The BEST (most advanced in the class) turboprop aircraft in the world: made in CANADA!! And most beautifull as well!!
I got to fly on one from Comox B.C. to Calgary, Alberta last year. Was a nice flight.
It can also do a barrel roll.
@@Ndizzyinthehizzy yea that was crazy watching that footage of the guy who stole on out of Seattle. Thing is pretty agile considering.
Love the Dash 8 Q400!
Awesome approaching view!
Super livery on the Dash.
Big like!
What a beautiful plane!!!
Great Landing
At first I thought he was gonna land with out his landing gears
Uhuuuuuuyuu
very nice video!
liked!
that water spray ritual goes back thousands of years
Awesome turboprop! It would be interesting to know the speed when it first passed by. Difficult to estimate from a video maybe.
But I think it was 300-350km/h. Anyone who can comment about this?
Bravo!
nice video mate
Beau reportage...loin de mon pays la France....
Touchdown! Where? Main moment missing..
Nice!
Wow, she has quite a history (SAS/BEE/CJC/ANG).
Will FXI be cutting pilot jobs after the transition btw ?
+pbatez Yes not a new aircraft. Air Iceland will not cut jobs after this.
+dabb Good news, thank you for the reply.
That will be flying into Halifax
Looks niceHow about the criticism from jSAS and others ??
SAS got this gear thing sorted out. Air Iceland likes this aircraft very much.
WOW enn vélinn hefur bilast þegar hún kom til landsins
Hey dabb
Why did they not continue with the Fokker's ? Do you know ?
How do you like the Dash 8 ?
Thanks
Hi, Air Iceland had F-50s from 1992 and it was time to renew the fleet. The Dash airplanes are more efficient and fly much faster.
Thanks I did fly Fokker in Iceland and liked them , but it sounds like these are better for the airline .
I was in Iceland in February and was hoping to fly on the 767 , it wasn't so perhaps next time.
Rich watching his beloved stolen plane, I love Q400!
Why I am recommended
going to land there sunday
