love the daily vids! awesome vlog! good to see them ps2 games moving. been beefing up my collection. thanks to Double Jump for my batman vengeance, and my evil dead: regeneration! YOU GUYS ROCK!
So sad to see the Snap-Station leave... honestly was looking forward to seeing it in person as it’s one of, or may be my holy grail item as well.... oh well...... maybe if you upgrade the space or something.
Dude. Completely understand where you are coming from with respect to inventory. And let's be honest here, let's call a spade a spade. Most items that people are looking to trade in are cheaper, more common, disc based games (PS3, 360, PS2, etc). Then, they use that credit to buy the good N64 and GC. It happens everywhere. What's worse, no one wants the common disc based stuff, and you are stuck with it pretty much forever. We've been bundling games and systems for 2 years now. For example, a PS2 with 40 games (most common with a couple of good ones) for a ridiculously cheap price just to move the common games. It works, but it takes time. Great video as always. Cheers
@@DoubleJumpVideoGamesIt's the only way to move common stock. And as you know, sometimes you have to buy the common stock to get the good stock. It's a double edged sword.
@@DoubleJumpVideoGames Word. I find it interesting from a retail perspective. It's funny when you mention Majora's Mask for the N64. We also have a hard time keeping it in stock. Same with Paper Mario. It's strange how these games - while plentiful - are still harder to get in. That's one of the things I like about your channel. You talk about the retail side of things, which I think is important for collectors and fellow business owners alike. You are also truly committed to the blog. You deserve a UA-cam medal!
Assuming he pays 30 to 40% for trade-ins the sale of having buy two get one free is basically taking 33% off each game so he is still making between 37 and 27% on each game. now it'd be tough to run a consistent business this way but to clear out all the lower entitles as he is doing with games only $10 and under is a very good sales method. He's also drumming up a lot of additional business for people coming in for the sale and buying games that are not on sale
Since its on anything $10 or less, at the very maximum, we are giving a 33% discount. Stephen pretty much hit it on the head, except we typically pay fairly low percentages for games worth under $10. We pay fair prices but on a game we might price at $4.99, obviously we can't pay 50%. Now a $200 game, we can pay even higher than 50-60%. Just depends on the title. BUT the sale was mainly to clear space and make room for backstock to be put out on the shelves, so the boosted sales a great for sure, but not the main priority of the sale.
Are you asking if we prefer games or systems? Games definitely sell faster than consoles do, but it just depends on the system or game. a Game Boy Color will sell faster than some random Xbox 360 game, but Super Metroid will sell faster than a PS3 system.
siccooper yes, that’s what I was asking lol. I guess it depends on what u mentioned. I for one stated to collect PS2 and back to xb360, but games i feel i’ll like.
Jacob Soules it’s not the same system, every time we sell one we replace it with another from the back 😁 We’ve sold 2 in the past month and just keep replacing it. I did work at a Casino, it was fun while it lasted, but the pay is low since they are a sovereign nation and aren’t required to pay minimum way and management is often poor as well
Do you guys even bother holding onto those garbage DS titles that people always include with trades? With how much good inventory you guys bring in it seems like it almost be a negative to have 20 copies of shovelware taking up space.
I feel you! I have so many games and systems to work on right now and I have 2 babies and a full time job. :/

Wow, that awesome Cooper
You tell us everyday your picky then i see bunch of animal pets ds games and $5 games on your trade in you show us.....lol 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤣😭
If you're seeing those, its because they were included for free with the bundle. Anyone who brings them in by themselves are leaving with them lol

If we get a bigger space or a second location, I will probably bring it back
siccooper That is some good news! Thank you!!
Any plans to hire any new staff ?
Not yet, but definitely in the future

Thats a good idea to bundle stuff and sell lots like that. I'll probably do that for Christmas / Black Friday :)

we do sell a lot of filler like Socom for PS2, but it definitely doesn't sell as fast as people bring it in

Good trades
Im curious about how deep a sale like that cuts into profit? or are the margins so good that it doesn't really matter

Regarding inventory and take in items, will you pick and buy consoles or games? What sells quicker?

They don't take up any room because we put all the cheaper stuff into a tub and just let people dig through if they want
