@@ranger468864 same. The only way to update is by making a purchase with a credit or debit card on the wiz website 🤷🏽♂️ then disabling chat filter in your profile on the website
I used to go behind the waterfall and try to go in the door and thought “oh! I must have to be the death element to get in!” So I made a whole other wizard, chose it, and I tried to go in. Still didn’t work, yeah I realize my mistake now
When I first started I didn’t know what realms were. I tried to meet up with my brother in the game so we could add each other as friends, but we went to the same place and we couldn’t see each other and we had no idea why 😭😭
Cool to see my deck video in the description since that's the thing i try to hammer into the heads of newer players as much as possible. I feel like its everyone's first instinct to just load it full of cards and not think twice about it.
Why after 10 years of playing this game, have I only just realised that ‘Fairy’ and ‘Pixie’ are different spells… I thought they were all called fairy but life wizards were just allowed to use it on others 😭
I really wish secondary schools were feasible, or rather the game had mechanics that combined certain schools into a few hybrid spells you could only use if you trained in both of them.
On point number 2: most card games have a minimum deck size to prevent you from having the exact cards you need to win all the time, and you lose when you can't draw cards from your deck anymore. Wiz deckbuilding is the highest possible power level in any card game. You can choose what your first hand looks like, and when you have less than 7 cards in hand you can draw specific treasure cards from side deck. It's crazy just how much power wiz gives you in having the cards you need when you need them.
This is a really good video! Also here's a tip: train the sun school damage enchantments (strong, giant, monstrous, gargantuan from Celestia, and Colossal from Zafaria as well as Epic at level 110). They give a HUGE damage boost to every damage spell you have!
I agree. I think people learn different ways. Some are audible learners some visual etc. Now with Novus and rhoshambo yikes! It’s so hard to see the tiny symbols on the bottom of the cards and then try to figure out if it applies to the battle you are in.
To be fair, it might have been the intention of the devs in the beginning for you to ideally just train 2 schools (your main and a secondary) and I think it kind of takes a while to realise that it’s even a problem for most people because you can probably drop 100 hours into the game before you run into problems anyway. But yeah, once you get to cards that start needing 6 or more pips, you start realising “hey, I don’t really freakin have time to wait 6 rounds for an inferior attack” and you go ahead and just train for cards that you specifically need or want.
Not only that, but as time goes on the equipment you receive throughout the game is targeted to your spell school So later on, an Ice Beetle on Ice Wizard could do more damage than a Storm Shark cast by the same Ice Wizard
Goodness. I've been playing this game since 2012 with my daughter. I was a full grown woman at the time. This video is VERY relatable even as a grown person. 😂😂😂 Really great video. 🥰
I can relate to the rivalry between schools thing. As a storm, I was honestly blown away that Myth was our opposite. I genuinely felt that because we were so strong, we had no rival. I thought Myth was the opposite of balance. I was unwilling to consider myth as my rival...for a long time. Ngl, even to this day, still have some trouble accepting it. But I have kinda come to accept it, but I consider fire as more of a rival🥱. It doesn't help that one of my first ever PvP was against a myth and he hit me with his best (Orthrus) and I just barely survived and killed him with a triton.
I’ve been playing this game for 12 years tell me why I’m just now learning from this video that selling your stuff in the Bazaar gives you more gold than quick selling 😭
I was 1,000,000% such a "noob" back in the day. In my defense, not only was I 10, but I didn't get a membership until like 2016... Maybe it was a year or two before, but considering I started playing at the start of 2010, I spent what felt like forever stuck in Wizard City.
i almost always spend time upgrading my gear to the best (f2p gear) available, even if there is a better substitute 5 levels later. i still do this and i would call it a mistake, but i love my stats way too much
My mistakes were not knowing how to discord cards using the wrong spells and filling my deck up training a different school not knowing what critical was this was back before khrysalis came up
This was fun to wach :) I must confess, I did not had any of the above problems because iI started to play as adult, to teach my 5 year old niece a "cartoon game"... It was like a familly assigment from her mother :) . So, like any assigment, I started with research about the game. After hours of videos, I said to my sister "This game is to complex for your daughter." "Does it have cartoon in it?" she asked. "Yes, it does, but is not a game for a 5 year old girl. It looks like it is, but looks can be deciveing." "If it is cartoonish it is fine, just teach her to play, get her out of my hair." So I did. After a few weeks, she did't knew the alphabet but she knew that (as storm) she needs to put a prism when fight other storm :)

That first mistake has now become a semi-viable option with the new update. That being said im so programmed to ignore that option that i dont know if I ever will
Remembering that time months ago when I got yelled at by a low HP teammate for casting Fairy to which I had to explain that Life wizards can use it on allies.
Ah hell, the way you say Bazaar just makes my inner englishman come to life and want to load a musket. I do agree that half of the stuff in the game is very poorly explained for its demographic. I thought that a secondary school wasn't just an option, but that it was mandatory. I thought that the game was an elaborate thing of rock-papers-scissors and I took ice and storm to make sure I'd always win, as I started as a death wizard. Horrible time, to be sure.
My first wizard, Blaze Shadowrider (Death), was so influential in my development as a human. The way I handled enemies in Wizard101 directly correlates to how I handle enemies in board games or other video games today. When I began writing as a teenager, my pen name "Blaze Shadowwriter" was a direct homage to my character. Since I heavily involved myself in caring about my Wizard 101 character, to this day I absolutely refuse to use any Life spells. Fairy? Get out of here with that dumb life spell. I'll defeat this and every other boss without healing. I've been playing Wizard101 for about a decade and I still refuse to put life spells into my deck.
It would be a cool feature if the developers added an option to buy or earn a skin for mounts to look like your pet. The skin would be purely cosmetic. There would be choices to be made in the development, such as can you only apply it to one mount and then toggle it on or off OR once you buy the skin can you move it to any mount? I would pay crowns early if I could use a skin to make my limited time mount look like my pet and then just move the skin over to new temporary or other mounts until I get a permanent mount who is my "forever friend".
I've done all these things about basically pretty much. Hard to hate another school when you're Balance tho. Now after I watched this video. I learned a valuable lesson & now I'm going to continue to do those said exact same things. Thank you.
One particular misconception I had was that I thought I was special and could train every school, with training points. Discovered the hard way that I couldn't, rip training points.
Me hearing that you thought pets could become mounts: Hey kingsisle why not make that a reality. Like have if you train a certain amount of pets of a certain school you would get an automatic permanent school mount. Like train 100 Ice to mega and get a free permement ice cloud mount or train 100 balance and get a free permement mount of you being carried on Judgement’s scales. Or let’s say you train up a certain number of astral mounts and get an astral designed magic carpet. It would be a really cool set of achievements to be honest. I’m not saying the mounts have to be transferable but yeah why not make it possible for pets to provide a mount?Dont the pets deserve some credit for all the running or flying they

When I first played wizard I was a fire wizard unfortunately that account don't exist anymore but the one I use now is a life wizard and I forget where I'm at but I did secondary into death just because it's useful to hit your own weakness
