i have 1 tip for new players, if a mainline quest asks you to kill some street mob always look around that area for side quests that also have you kill those street mobs. It basically just gives you free exp

I like it, but “looking around” for sides that match up with your main quest line could be rather time consuming and costly to XP accumulation. I think it would be faster rushing main’s unless you knew and could provide a video on all side quests that are worth picking up? Thanks.

100% agree, more often that not, when you enter a new area and there is a side quest that already appears, it will very likely have you fight the same mobs for your first or second mainline quests. It’s not always guaranteed but even if you do pick up a side quest that doesn’t fall in line with the main quest you can always just not do it

My advice for new players, when a game says “free to play” but you can only progress though 3% of the game and the only way to progress further is either to pay crowns or pay monthly for membership that’s not it being free but a pay to play.

What I wish I knew was that Kingsisle has a way to earn free crowns. If you play 10 daily trivia quizzes, you can gather 100 crowns (10 per trivia). Then when you use them to buy the next area you unlock it forever for all characters on that account.
I got back into the game a few years ago and I managed the daily routine for a few months, managing to get up to the beginning of Dragonspyre before it became too much. Now I am back in again and I have a better system, and I look forward to (eventually) experiencing the rest of the game!

I was dumb when i was young. What i did was just fight lost souls for 1 hour and i didn’t know how to get past it. Obviously after that , i started watching youtube videos and learned that u can complete Unicorn way. I also trained other school spells and i would wonder why i kept fizzling. Another thing was i used to max max out my health ( at lvl 7 ) which was funny cause it really didn’t matter.
Same thing with picking cards i did not know you can add spells into your deck and discard you hand ofc. That made me make tons of problems and I wish i could be back there and be like “ Am I dumb?”

  • @joelwest5396
    @joelwest5396 Рік тому +7

I have been gone from the game for years, but my strategy as an adult player was different than some of your conclusions
I did all side STORY quests since that meant that when I hit the next unlocked world I was already at a higher level than if I had just skipped all the side quests. this made it much easier to solo most of the new world by myself. I occasionally would help other players who did not do the side quests since they were so much weaker than I was. as more worlds are completed the difference between a story line completist and someone who skipped side story quests became even more pronounced. someone who pays money to instantly skip ahead to lev 50 has the same problem. they are relatively weak since ALL side story quests were skipped
you are right about most daily quests since their benefit was so low
you showed the farm for gardening and that is no accident. it was by far the best home for gardening. i spent crowns to buy rare seeds and then multiplied them from planting and harvesting them in a garden
you are right that larger decks can lead to a whole bunch of useless cards. however if used correctly large decks can give you some flexibility to put in situational cards that you do not want very many copies of and indeed no copies if your deck was really small. as my decks got bigger they became more useful since I was very careful about which spells to include and how many copies of each spell to put into the deck
you are correct that the personality quest to select your first wizard is ridiculous. I ended up making a wizard of each school except for death and leveling them all up more or less simultaneously. I would all have done death, but there was not enough seats in the classroom back then to have every single type of wizard. so I created a second account just to level up a death wizard. the drawback was that death cards I got from all the other wizards could NOT be sent sent directly to the death wizard. instead you had to make a special request to KI to transfer these cards to the other account
by playing as a wizard in all the wizard schools I found out for myself the strengths and weaknesses of each wizard school

    • @Secure_Mental
      @Secure_Mental Рік тому

I didn’t know u could request that from kingizle? Did they accept your request. What kind of cards did u transfer over spellments?

Almost every RPG takes a shift towards focusing on either Damage or Defense (if not both)
Taking 50% less damage effectively doubles your health and effectively doubles your healing (because 1 point healed to you is worth 2 effective health points), making Defense the best focus for a tank, something Ice is the best at. Ice is key at how high their Resist is while still having good stats elsewhere, just don't expect to lead in damage numbers.
Dealing more Damage is always something that scales harder than the number implies, and this gets more intense the more complicated the RPG is.
In RPGs with loads of buffs and debuffs (like Wizard 101), a buff of 5% additional Damage could be 5 points or 500 points (depending on the RPG) and usually far outscales flat damage bonuses
Players who are very RPG experienced will usually know and notice this early in Wizard 101 (it is why I love Ice is because of how silly their stat spreads are with high resist, making them perfect for buffing and support in parties), but for players who are new to RPGs (or only played pokemon) stats like Health are a super common trap to invest in for new players.

especially in the 1st arc as the decks (the equipment item) get higher leveled they allow you to put more copies of cards and more cards total giving the impression more=better.

something I didn’t rly know until recently was how to have multiple different decks. I certainly didn’t do that when I was younger but as a myth, several bosses are myth and it makes it incredibly difficult for me to take them down with just one deck full of myth cards. I now have a boss deck and ranked decks based on mobs so I don’t spend time discarding as you said. Also, teaming up is CRUCIAL. anytime i’ve been stuck if I team up, it has saved me every time. people are so nice and helpful and it’s good to know your role. If you’re a life wizard, you’ll probably be healing the storm who’s passing to gain pips. as a myth, I have lots of pierce and steal cards that I like to use to aid others because I’m not the hardest hitter and if I do hit hard, I need like 6 pips to do so. Knowing your role in a team-up v. a 1v1 is very important and can really cut down on time for everyone.

My top 10 things I wish I knew before playing the game are:
    1. Worthwhile side content to focus on- you probably don't care but crafting was such a huge impact on why I could even play this game to this day. It became sorta necessary for endgame because of dragoons gear for most people but before that crafting was seen as a sidegrade or even somewhat of a downgrade to dropped gear from the endgame content. However, some of the best gear to save time from grinding comes from crafting. Wintertusk gear literally saves hours of waterworks grinding because the chieftain hat and robe are comparable to waterworks gear even if they are more subpar. Wintertusk also has some of the best accessory gear up until level 90. It's insane how many people don't know or realize that you don't have to spend years grinding gear all the time and can get back into questing if you dedicate your time correctly.
    2. Pets and how costly they are to train- if you aren't efficient you can find yourself wasting tons of crowns on hatching elixirs and energy elixirs and snackpacks instead of playing the game grinding and making the best use of membership benefits. You don't wanna know how many times I failed a pet and had spent crowns on that stuff for it to fail again. Having a pet is a huge damage boost/resist boost to your arsenal and shouldn't be ignored, therefore learning how to best train them is important.
    3. Use the bazaar- its extremely important to realize how much of the gear/spells and whatnot can be gotten from the bazaar early on and set you up for smoother questing.
    4. How to socket or make use of jewels- jewels are a system in which you can get stats like crit or pierce, pip chance or accuracy and knowing how to use them because they are for the most part one time use is important especially if you don't have star jewel plants.
    5. Proper deck and spell setup for general content- I mained life and due to the lackluster damage early on used to have my entire deck full of traps/blades/damage spells and other useless nonsense. Knowing how much damage your spells do and knowing how many blades/enchants/auras you need for content is important so you aren't wasting your time discarding and extending fights beyond whats necessary.
    6. Life school is a school you genuinely want to play after one of your other schools are maxed. The amount of extended effort to make the school playable to the same extent as most other schools is just not really achievable on your first playthrough unless you look up guides constantly and are able to buy packs. You have to buy your low pip aoe, you want to buy a low pip aoe heal, you want a good pet for damage and jading, and you need more setup for clearing. This is all stuff you need to have knowledge on the game for and access to resources in order to be able to prep for this. If you wanna have a good time and be in farming runs for certain content as a life you need to have all these things ready.
    7. Having a garden for pet snacks is extremely important and at least one character should be dedicated to this role.
    8. Having a farming school is extremely important for farming content fast and efficiently.
    9. Farm mirror lake a lot when you are free. You get 2 pixie stix for clearing it and most people are farming it for double pet exp.
    10. PSA. Don't be that guy who joins the duel circle when someone's hitting. You're making it a longer fight because you're selfish, ask to join and wait for the player to respond.

My advice to new players is Use your treasure cards i know that is obvious but instead of a heal in your deck try one in tc or elemental blades or your Bubbles you get allot of tc over time and some dont cost that much and can increase your survive ability by being able to chose when the heal comes or that buff instead of hope and pet jewels are good for swapping out if you havent maxed your pet for stats yet

Advice to my fellow storm wizards.
In vestriland there is another boss called ASRIK he is myth with an ice minion. His drops are just as good in terms of gold as halfang. But unlike halfang your hits are resisted; they get boosted from asrik being myth. You would most likely do this fight at a high level because less people farm him since halfang has lower health. But if your high level this is a good strategy for the fight; if your first tempest or squall wyvern; if your second unless if you got about 20-25 pierce blade into an aoe, otherwise do the same thing from first.

I mean, I have deck guides on my channel. If you want a specific and universal death boss deck i’d recommend something like: 2 Feint, 1 Potent Trap, 2 Death Blades, 1 Sharp Blade, 3 Enchants, 2 Scarecrow, 1 SOF or potentially Headless Horseman. Obviously that can be changed, made smaller or been bigger. But that’ll carry you through every boss in the late game.
For mob battles, easily just pack 2 death blades, one sharpened blade, 3 ship of fools and 3 enchants. If no ship of fools then do Deer Knight.

I'm still trying free to play. I've been playing for about a week since I just recently started playing shall (new account) but it's still very expensive. Not in terms of money but in terms of time. It takes 7 days of doing trivia to unlock Cyclops lane, which took about 3 hours to complete. Next week I'll be able to do firecat alley and then a week later I'll be able to do colossus boulevard. One thing that is nice is it gets you ahead a bit for your level in the gold department since a lot of the time you can't do anything except fish (which since I'm level 11 right now it seems like such a great way to get gold. You make like $1000 gold in a half hour.) One more thing I wish I knew before I started is that exp is based on pips and not the level of the boss. So when you're early game and you have an enemy down to like 45 health, you should go for a 2 pip spell anyway instead of a 1 pip spell or a 0 pip because you get double the exp (although it's 6 vs 3 exp so it doesn't really make much of a difference.)

    8. Get a discord going, get into servers for chances to win packs/crowns/member giveaways
    9. Do not spend crowns on mounts or gold

A few things I wish I knew about:
    1) The free crowns from doing daily quizzes on the website
    2) It's not worth paying real money for a mount, instead just rent a mount from Zeke for a day because it's a very very small amount of gold.

    I'd say if you're Ice:
    Make sure to do Wintertusk!
I don't know if this is an Ice only issue but when I was getting an early arc 2 spell (Think either Snow Angel or Wolly) requires you to have Wintertusk iirc and I had to spend a day grinding there.

the stats to focus on is a big issue. Theres no reason why theres storms and fires in darkmoor with 20 damage and 3 resist and a bunch of bizaar gear in 2022. even for other dungeons it wastes other peoples time when one person in the team doesnt know what they're doing
