Anyone that says 2022 hasn't been an amazing year for high quality films doesn't really care about film or cinema in general, they care about the "new" category on Netflix and whatever receives a remake. It's a pretty absurd take, 2022 is killing it.

My favorite movie this year was The Northman. I loved it from start to finish, but I have heard some people complain and say it is too much of an acid trip or that the ending ruined it. I thought the ending was prety awesome though :)
Top Gun Maverick was really well done, similar shots clearly pult from the first movie, but overall a great plot, and general film, it deserves that top spot upon the moist meter!

I hope Charlie did see All Quiet on the Western Front because it’s truly incredible and I think he would really love it since we are starting to notice how much we lack a representation of WW1 in film and games

Really? Thought it sucked personally. The title of the movie is accurate and that's what ruined it for me at the same time. It tried to be so many things it was... nothing. It has no genre and all the tone shifts of the movie really made me not get sucked into it, despite watching it in the theatre. I thought Jamie Lee Curtis was hilarious, but other than that I would put it near the bottom of the +- 15 movies I've seen this year
@@joseph1140e the tone shifts worked so well for me and that’s what I found so unique about it. They were able to pull off so much at once and have all these plot lines going at once. Broody Bruce Wayne from what my friends told me is because this Bruce Wayne is still new to things like more of an origin thing, eventually he might be all playboy-ish later.. but then we also have Batman Begins, if I remember correctly Bruce and Batman was a contrast. So the cool part on Robert Pattinson is that he is Batman, Bruce Wayne is actually the mask.

Lol Avatar and RRR are like 8/10 but not as good as EEAAO. It deserves #1
Retard retard retard was my favorite movie this year too, it doesn’t get talked about as much as I’d hoped
I personally feel anyone who says 2022 “hasn’t been an amazing year for high quality films” hasn’t been exposed to many of the films that came out this year
Yeah this has been a great year definitely better than last year.
Yeah being disabled removes my ability to see movies so I only hear about the shit shows.
Anyone that says 2022 hasn't been an amazing year for high quality films doesn't really care about film or cinema in general, they care about the "new" category on Netflix and whatever receives a remake. It's a pretty absurd take, 2022 is killing it.

The Whale was a great movie and I don't think it got enough attention. Amazing performances and great story, definitely one of my favorites this year.
The number 1 and number 2 spot was a massive breath of fresh air, they basically carried this year imo

I agree with Penguinz0 that Morbius is #1, not that the other movies were bad or especially uninventive, but they did not have the "wave" (looking at you Avatar 2) that Morbius produced. Call it a "sweep", if you will. Can't wait for the sequel.
It's morbin time

Guessing Charlie didn't watch The Northman, definitely deserving of a spot on the list
My favorite movie this year was The Northman. I loved it from start to finish, but I have heard some people complain and say it is too much of an acid trip or that the ending ruined it. I thought the ending was prety awesome though :)
The Banshees of Inisherin was my favorite film of the year. I also really liked NOPE, X, Barbarian, and The Batman.
Nope was definitely my movie of the year glad to see someone finally mentioning it
Top Gun Maverick was really well done, similar shots clearly pult from the first movie, but overall a great plot, and general film, it deserves that top spot upon the moist meter!
pult?
the shots weren’t stolen, they were intentional as easter eggs

I went to see "Everything Everywhere All at Once" in theaters with friends and pretty much came out thinking it was my new favorite movie of all time.
But at the near end of the movie, I looked over to my friends and realized I was the only one not crying.
I felt like there was something wrong with ME for not crying.
I cane out thinking it was super overhyped and extremely bad so dont worry you're not weird hahaha
Favorite movie material for sure. I absolutely love eeaoo! I was emotion but didn't cry on my first watch. The dramatic scenes are more specific than other movies so if you didn't relate to the characters it may not have hit you as hard as your friends

Batman was incredible. It was so slick. Deserves the word, Epic. The cinematic style incredible. So genuinley cool
Top Gun Maverick and The Batman totally outdid themselves.
My all time favorite movie this year was Everything Everywhere All At Once and when I clicked on the video, I was a bit disappointed it wouldn't be on here because Charlie hasn't made a Moist Meter video on it, but to my surprise it showed up and I am literally so happy it made it on here. This movie deserves all of the praise and more.

The Northman is so underrated, it’s an amazing movie
Honestly, I'm surprised that so many people liked top gun. I went in the movie pretty excited to watch it and was pretty underwhelmed by the whole thing. Everything everywhere all at once was my favorite for the year
Was going through the comments desperately looking for anyone who shared this sentiment, lol. I admittedly haven’t seen the original (I’ve seen clips over the years), so I was going in with no nostalgia glasses on. And it just felt so safe? By the numbers? Like, it felt like an 80’s movie, but not in a good way. I was honestly bored by the end since I could see exactly how everything would play out from the very beginning.
EEAAO wasn’t my favourite movie, it had flaws in it. Top Gun excelled in what it does. Best movie of the year. But everyone has different opinions.
@@BroadwayBrittany yes! Exactly. I watched the first one for the first time before seeing this one and it was the same to me. The plot was very strange in the first one and things just happen.

EEAAO is fucking phenomenal. Top five movies for me, I’ve seen it 8 or 9 times now and it’s so packed with everything, especially emotion, meaning, themes, done better than most movies I’ve seen.
