2:52 'Abba The movie"(Abba's feverish 1977 filmed tour) is really a live jukebox dream.Such a heavenly adventure for many, many fans.A delight for the ears and eyes!
An absolute favorite, a real gem. Agnetha really shines in this beautiful song, she is the main vocalist in this song. Such a great video as always from you, you're both so great. And great T-shirt, Tyler! ABBA The Movie is a complete must-see film and so is the ABBA Live Concert from 1979, the movie is filmed in Australia 1977 and the 1979 concert was filmed in the U.S. and the U.K. Björn and Benny were heavily involved in both the Mamma Mia movies, ABBA themselves not appearing in those films though, cameos from Benny and Björn in both the films. Gonne Sing You My Love Song is my suggestion for your next one.
Thank you, thank you, guys! We knew you’d love it! This is an early classic that harks back to the country/folk style that was very popular in the 1950s and 1960s throughout Europe and North America (and Australia and NewZealand). Agnetha’s singing style here deliberately channels the style of one of her singing heroes: American 1950s pop superstar, Connie Francis. This has always been a little favourite of mine.
Yes, Benny and Björn were executive producers in both Mamma Mia films. Not only that. Benny was in charge of the music, re-recording all the backing tracks moving the keys up and down so that the cast were able to sing the songs... sort of. He even used the same band to make them sound as close to ABBA as possible. On a sad note, Lasse Wellander, ABBA's guitar player in most recordings (up to Voyage) and live shows just passed away. He will be missed. 😢
I read that the arrangements and vocals of the Abba songs were so tight and complicated that even Benny had to run back and 'deconstruct' their original Abba takes so to recall how they had originally recorded them at the ttime back then.Respect!
"Mamma Mia!" the musical and the movies were produced by Littlestar Services Ltd. The company was formed in 1996 by Judy Craymer, Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus, and Richard East. The movies were produced in partnership with Playtone - Tom Hanks company.✌
This gem came out in the year I was born. The first Abba song I ever heard. Still as amazing 48 years later. I've requested this a few times. So glad you enjoyed it 👌
it shows Agnetha's incredible versatility. Her tremolo here is so different to SOS different to The Day Before You Came, different to Lay All Your Love On Me... here it has written Conny Francis written all over.. on the Waterloo album there are not too many songs, even on the special version released decades later. The one with the 25 song is the deluxe edition of Ring Ring with a lot of swedish tunes from the very beginning where Agnetha and Frida did back-up vocals. And like someone already mentioned it was strongly considered to be their Eurovision entry in 1974 as it matches more the styles that were successfull at Eurovision. Never had a poprock song won. It has a cold ending and is exactly those maximum allowed 3.00 minutes long. But they voted against it, cause it's more of an Agnetha solo track than displaying the group as a whole. The song was released as a single in limited territories such as obviously Spain and Portugal. And Debbie Boone did a cover which was released on the b-Side of million seller "You Light Up My Life" back in 1977, a song that was some 10 weeks on the top of the hot 100. There is of course a spanish language version of Hasta Manana
I like these old fashioned type ballads and this is another one with Agnetha leading like "I've been waiting for you" which I know you liked o surprised you weren't over-keen on this even though I also prefer I've been waiting for you. I'm amazed you can't tell their voices apart, Agnetha is Soprano and crystal clear while Frida is Mezzo Soprano and smooth as honey. The talking bit is a very 70's thing and personally I like it here as it is sweet Agnetha 🤩
You should consider looking into the musical 'Chess' it's what Benny and Bjorn did after Abba ended and it feels a bit like The Visitors album in some ways..
This is my sister's all time favourite ABBA song from when we used to play the original ABBA Greatest Hits on cassette in 1976. There is an excellent Spanish version too. 💕
It's so fascinating to listen to these oldest of ABBA songs and see their artistic progression with each album. You guys could review some of the post-ABBA music by all the members. Do a reaction to One Night in Bangkok, Someone Else's Story from CHESS, anything from the Benny Anderson Orchestra. So much good post-ABBA music.
This takes me back to the beaches and camping trips of my early to mid 1970s childhood. (Where you often couldn't escape the muzak being played on other people's transistor radios.)
I love this its so beautiful, has a very calming, dreamy quality. By the way, the spoken word part in the song is Agnetha, for me personally you can tell their voices apart either when they are speaking or singing as Agnetha has a higher pitched voiced, whilst Frida has a deeper, more sultry voice
Yessss this is the song I've requested you guys to do an age ago. Love it and thx for reacting. This song reminded me of an old WW2 song. I'm an old soul that maybe appreciates it a bit more than most.
Oh i'm eagerly waiting to watch Marissa's reaction to this!!!!This is the hardest they've done. Some wouldn't suspect that this metal rock sound is Abba!
@@christianoazzuro6711 During the filming of this there was a hush-hush comment being tossed back and forth, and "the song" that they would be commenting on later...do you think they finally listened to it?

'Waterloo' was far stronger.Different, instantly catchy and revolutionary for Eurovision at the time.

so nice to see your reaction to another song of ABBA's album "Waterloo" (1974)
"Hasta mañana" (means "Until tomorrow")
it's a good song (7pts) of "Waterloo" álbum
It's nice, it's the first of a series of ABBA songs with the title in spanish but the lyrics in english:
Hasta mañana ; Fernando ; Chiquitita
also ABBA have songs with tittle in italian:
Mamma Mía ; Andante andante
and in french
Voulez Vous
"Hasta mañana" is a soft ballad well performed, which was in the vein of typical Eurovision songs
but it did not have the distinctive and overwhelming power of pop rock "Waterloo", with the presence of the two leading female voices
It was a risky and wise decision, which gave ABBA the triumph in Eurovision and the start of his fantastic worldwide
Agnetha sang in 'Connie Francis style'
(she was her model of singer)
her voice is absolutly beautiful
"Hasta mañana" wss one of the few songs from the "Waterloo" álbum (with "Honey honey" and the smash hit "Waterloo") that ABBA performed in TV, at Spain 1974 and Australia 1976
in 1980 ABBA recording "Hasta mañana" in spanish, and was included in the full album "Gracias por la música" (with all ABBA classic songs in spanish)
