Holy grail product of my boyfriend. The other day I said to my boyfriend: 'Hopefully we will see Shear Revival reviews from Robin in the near future'. And there you are 😍. All of their stuff smells amazing and we are loving the mindful idea of their company. I'm loving Northern Lights for my short Pixie Cut. It smells amazing, it doesn't dry out your hair and your hair looks and feels healthy and great.
Robin James ,Yes I have used this product. And for me is excellent unorthodox wb pomade. The people from Shear Revival has created Crystal Lake with 98% natural ingredients without harsh chemicals (not so many on the market)and can make my hear even healthier.. Styling my hear with this product is a pleasure!4.8 points .Thanks for the review!
Two other from shear Revival Robin you have to try or review is norther lights (probably best matte paste on the market) and grey ghost (which is like Crystal lake with a strong hold and I think a little less shine. ) Both are now my go to products depending on which style I go with
@@kevszkar01 northern lights is very matte. Best way to describe it is one notch below natural shine. So any product that stated natural shine it's below that. But it's not as matte as Odouds. Hold is awesome. As far as grey ghost I just go small scoops at a time and build up desired shine and the hold is so good I just comb into place or hit it with a quick shot of hairspray
@@guyprieto1593 I really like the matte finish and hold that odouds perform but sometimes the dryness is really annoy me. Do northern light have same dryness like odouds or its perform better than odouds???
@@kevszkar01 no it's definitely not as dry. In fact just use small scoops because if you apply to much the matte and dryness become slightly greasy. Just slightly but I always start off small scoops an work my way in and once you get that perfect hold it stays where you place it almost zero movement but it's not hard like a gel or stiff. And definitely not as dry as Odouds. Probably the holy Grail for people looking for a matte hold with firmness In fact it has the perfect blend of Matte and dryness I've found an I probably have tried like 80 percent of these UA-cam famous products. my Odouds has only been used once ad my northern lights is out I gotta pick up another one.
This is going to be my next product I try!! I love how you say “guys and gals, hi” :) I have short hair now so I’ve been really testing out some products lately.
Hey Luke, I finished the course. I did it to get more of an understanding of hair, technique and cuts. It allows me to be more confident and knowledgeable in my content creation.
To each their own but oh man..i just tried arcadian, as well as o’douds. Both those are also very good matte pastes, very grippy..slight edge going to the arcadian🔥
Hey Robin! Nice review here! I honestly miss these type of videos about hair grooming on your channel. It would be a blast if you start doing them again. Been a fan since 2014, wish you the best!
Hey Robin, cool review, have you heard about no gunk products? Can you do a review on those? It's a newer British brand that making products on all natural ingredients.
question: what is your favorite WATER BASED pomade considering 3 factors: 1.- it has to smell great. I mean, even if you are not with someone, the smell is for us. 2 how easy is to comb the hair and everything about the hairstyle and 3 how good is with your hair, I mean, a product that doesn't screw with your hair that much?
I wanted so much to like Crystal Lake, I did love the packaging but I was honestly not happy with the product itself, starting from the bad chemical smell... still I am interested in trying their other products (Northern Lights, for example)
Robin: girls, hi. Me: *freezes looks around* lol Thanks for another review on this product since I’ve been thinking of changing my pomade. It’s helped me make up my mind. Keep up the great videos.
If you're looking for a higher hold product, then Gray Ghost. I prefer Crystal Lake's scent more. Gray Ghost has a simple citrus + wood scent. It definitely has more hold, but can harden a little bit more than Crystal Lake. It's might be a little bit more matte than Crystal Lake, but it's not a matte product. Application is similar. Quality of ingredients is similar too.
I Need anyone's advice please... I have thick dense hair... I have tried Northern lights, which is okay... and some clays... clays are too heavy and sticky for my hair and I dont like the matt finish..... Pete and pedro paste has great consistency for my type of hair and a bit of a shine.... are there 'cleaner' products which offer the same characteristics ... suggestions please, thanks!
So ive used this product a couple of times but it really pulls my hair and i cant really spread it easily and evenly. Any tips from anyone of how i can make it easier to spread? I aaply with wet hair
@@ManForHimself if i wash it everyday it is too dry and i have no volume at all,so i wash it every second or maybe third day.Are there any products you can apply to your hair after washing it,so your hair wouldn't be so dry?
badly position labels haha! some brands come to mind 🙊 thanks so much for reviewing this product! my girlfriend got it for me on christmas and it’s so cool to see what u think of it!
Robin James i’m having a bit trouble getting volume using the product. i’m using the bumble tonic primer pre styler. maybe a switch in pre styler would help?
Not directly related to the video topic, but do you (or anybody else on this thread for that matter) have suggestions for a good shampoo for dry scalp (NOT dandruff)? I have ridiculously dry skin naturally, and my scalp always tends to flake. Head&Shoulders does nothing for me and I have lost track of the different shampoos I've tried using. I used to shampoo daily, but then learned that's not actually best for the hair/scalp, so I backed off to 3-4 times a week. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated--especially on the low-mid budget end.
@@ManForHimself I realized I never responded to this! I ordered a treatment and it's worked great so far. Not sure why I never thought to look for something like that but thanks for the recommendation!
